This is a thoughtfully-designed, clean, spa-like salon in a good location with easy parking. My haircut is definitely one of the best I've ever had. I appreciated the stylist considering my age, height, head shape and face shape before making recommendations after I offered my usual ""I'm not sure what I want"". High quality products are used and the shampoo experience was supreme and included a lovely, totally relaxing head massage. I look gorgeous, too. :-) more

As a TV news anchor for ABC11, having the right color and style is very important to me (as it is to most of us women!) And as a natural dark brunette, lifting my hair to blonde has proven challenging for many stylists. In the 2 and a half years I've been in the area, I haven't found a stylist I was satisfied with, that is until I met Lisa at Joule salon! She worked with me to accomplish the color I wanted that would be easiest for me to maintain. And, she helped makeover my look with a new haircut, and she showed me how to style my hair in a more contemporary look. I couldn't have been more thrilled with the look. And since then I've been getting compliments from viewers and coworkers alike! I would personally recommend Lisa to any of my friends or colleagues. more

I've found a home at Joule Salon. When I relocated to Cary from New York, finding a good stylist was as important to me as finding a good doctor! I searched for a year before finding Lisa, the owner of the salon. We have developed a relationship over the years, and she always listens. She values continuing education and travels each year to learn the latest techniques and trends in cutting, coloring, and styling hair. She's been able to cut my hair short when I've needed something new, and then when I change my mind, she gives me great cuts as it grows longer. Lisa has also taken the time to teach me how to replicate the polished look that I have when I leave the salon when I do it myself at home. more

Very unhappy today when I drove 25 miles for a hair appt only to find out after I got there my stylist was no longer there. I told her at the front desk who I was there to see and she had me change and then tried to give me someone else. I feel it was a very tricky move on their part. If she would have told me when she called to confirm my appt. I probably would have gone with someone else. Didnt trust them at this point. Not a good way to treat customers. I left. more

Lisa has been cutting my hair for over 2 years. - She is amazing and always knows just what to do with it to make it look great. She is up on the current trends and styles. I would highly recommend her to anyone that wants great looking hair !!! more

I've lived through just about every hair trend you can think of. Remember the 80s? Permed hair that made you look like your neighbor's ugly poodle? Then there was the Rachel, the short Bob, the long Bob, the shaggy Bob, etc. Yes, I tried them all, and unfortunately have the photos to prove it. Those days are over. Lisa has been styling my hair for over 10 years. There is no one better in the area. You will walk out of her salon feeling and looking like a million bucks. If you are smart, you will sit in her chair and let her do whatever she thinks is best. Her ideas are always so much better than what you had in mind. She is the professional, so listen to her. I'm about the pickiest customer when it comes to finding a stylist. I want my cut to be stylish, low-maintenance and attention-getting. After trying 5 salons in Cary, and the last one totally botching a simple cut, I called Joule. I was in dire straights after wearing a baseball hat for 2 days to hide the worst haircut I'd ever received.. The owner, Lisa, scheduled me immediately w/Andrea and treated me like a VIP customer. Andrea not only fixed my cut, but did it beautifully. I've become a regular customer and am even doing highlights now (which with dark hair is no small feat!) The color looks so natural, hiding the beginnings of grey hair so well that I'm looking at going lighter still next month:-) If you're looking for a new stylist, new look, or just moved to the area, I would call Joule. As stylists and people pleaser?s we strive each and every day to make our clients look and feel beautiful. We travel, train, and we bring back to the salon new trends that you see in magazines. We then take this inspiration and recreate these trends on our clients. I recently spent two days training with Celebrity Stylist Ted Gibson from the TV show ?what not to wear?. He mentioned to me over dinner that after teaching the class he went back to his room and was depressed because he felt he did not create his best work for us. I was stunned that a stylist who works on celebrity?s and models could feel this way. I applauded him for his honesty. It also showed me he was human. As an artist when we create we put ourselves out their to be judged. All we can do is to be the best we can be each and every day in every situation. more

After the many positive reviews I thought it would be safe to try a new salon having recently moved to the area. Lisa was very conversational, the salon is very nice in a good location and products are good quality. I'd asked for a trim, in addition Lisa had suggested thickening up my bangs. Sorry to say I am very disappointed with the results... The style of my hair is now like a young 'kid' style - straight across the bottom, nothing taken off of layers to thin them out, no graduated layering put back in after the length was taken up but worst of all the bangs... I have bang length hair now on the sides of my head about a third the way back from my face. They look bluntly cut and sit out on top of the longer layers - it's almost like some just hacked up a pieces of my hair by accident or that I have a hair hat or something on me. Not sure what happened here, Lisa herself was surprised and did not charge which I guess was decent. But I'd much prefer to pay and have a good hair style, an actual style, rather than this 'chopped' mess. Disappointing experience, total let down, now a bad hair cut to contend with, let grow for several months and find a good hair stylist.... more

Going to Joule Salon is truly an experience. To call Lisa a hair stylist would be a huge understatement. She is an artist, who takes the time to really look at your features ad talk with you about what you want to accomplish on your visit. I always feel rejuvenated when I leave Joule and strongly recommend you go see Lisa and find out for yourself just how unique the Joule experience can be. more

I am a hair snob. Simple and sweet. I've lived in the area for over 3 years now and had yet to find a salon and colorist that I could stick with who was a real professional. If you want to look fabulous, GO TO LISA. I can't say enough good things about her! I had the American Balyage color done, and it was stunning! Lisa and her staff are WONDERFUL. From the moment you make an appointment over the phone and then walk through their doors, you feel like you are family. They LISTEN to your visions, they understand your level of styling ability, they see your facial features that need to be emphasized and then they do their MAGIC. What was most important to me was the fact that Lisa took as much time as I needed to ""teach"" me how to make my new hairstyle look fabulous day after day once leaving Joule Salon. Lisa is the only person I have let touch my hair since 2003. She is a consummate professional - she knows exactly what to do with my hair to keep me looking great, and makes suggestions as to which style would best flatter my face and lifestyle, so much so that I trust her completely -- whatever she suggests, we do. She is great at communicating what she is going to do, and I always walk out looking fabulous. I love my color and she changes up the highlights/lowlights by the season so I don't get bored. People are always asking me who does my hair, often enough that I extra Joule cards in my purse to give out. In addition, she is such a warm, friendly person that I look forward to my visits - kind of like having your sister cut your hair. I drive 50 minutes from Knightdale to have Lisa work her magic, but I would drive in from Greensboro every 6 weeks if I had to. more

I went to get my hair cut by Lisa Rivoli after my long -time hairstylist moved out of the area. My friend recommended Lisa and likes her a lot. I can now say I totally agree with my friend - Lisa is great. She really listened to what I wanted, which was change of hair style. I was nervous to have a new hair stylist attempt a hair style change on my hair, but I had not reason to worry. Lisa listened, grabbed a magazine, pointed to some photos of hairstyles, made sure we understood each other, and did a fabulous job. I left her salon feeling like I looked like a movie star! I was supposed to go home right afterward, but I felt like I should be attending a red carpet event! I will definitely go to Lisa again! more

The best recommendation I ever received from a friend was to call Lisa Rivoli for my hair. I have been going to Lisa for 7+ years. Even when I moved to Wilmington for four years, I drove back for my hair appointments with Lisa. I refused to look for anyone in Wilmington. I took my son here to get a haircut...the woman Kelly did a great job and they charged me $15.00 - I was HAPPY...the nex time I returned I got the same woman and she sounded a little irritated and responded ""I can squeeze him in quickly"" this said with no other customers there? I said great and she cut his hair - poor job not at all consistent with his first haircut and then charged me $23.00! I despise people that run a business like this and will never go back again! When I went in for my appointment, my hair was in dire need of style and a good cut. When I sat in Lisa's chair, I could see that her mind was already working on what would look best on me and how she could fix my mess. It's like she knew just by looking at my face, what would look right on me. She is a true visionary and I love that in a hair stylist. I also like that my sylist washed my hair. I was recommended by a close friend and long time customer to Joule Salon and I have never took such great advice! As we all know, our hair is our babies, no one can touch it except the best - well these people are the stylists at Joule Salon. I have only ever had Lisa and Caitlin but I do know that everyone walks out that salon glowing! Lisa is an extreme perfectionist about hair meaning there is no rushing around and fitting multiple customers in while another is under the drier...not at Joule! The atmosphere is amazing here, whether it is telling your own life stories, hearing the stylists, or gossiping about who has the better meatball recipe - Joule is the place to be. You know those days where you are depressed and nothing makes you feel better? Your hair is a mess and you feel like crying, and all the chocolate in the house is gone? Well Lisa fixes that. It is funny how a new cut and color changes the way you look at the world. Lisa Rivoli has been doing my hair for quite a while now and I love what she can do. She is an ARTIST. My thin hair curls up on the right side and curls down on the left. Don't even get me started on the humidity factor. When she finishes a cut it is truly a work of art. I love how my hair looks and feels. Lisa is the only person who has ever been able to tame my weird hair. I used to try to tell her how I wanted my hair cut, but after a good cry on a bad day I told Lisa to do whatever she wanted. She said, ""Are you sure?"" I told her to cut it as short, dye it any color she thought best and go for it. I told her to just do her magic. It was the best I have ever looked. The color she chose is closer to what I was as a teenager. I am a natural blonde. My old stylist told me to dye it dark to cover the new gray hair. I kept doing that for years until Lisa fixed that mistake. I look so much younger and my friend said the color makes my eyes sparkle. My hair is short and in style. My husband has seen his fair share of really bad hair cuts from other stylists. After going to Lisa has told me I can spend whatever I want ? she is cheaper than therapy :) Now whenever I go to the salon, I look at Lisa and say, ""Do your magic."" Nothing more is needed. She can look at the shape of your face, skin coloring and works her magic. Lisa can be called many things, stylist, beautician, therapist and friend. She is great. I have been getting my hair done here for over 6 months and find this place to be the warmest Hair Salon I have been too. I was born and raised in Apex and love the girls there especially the receptionist. I have recommended my friends here and they seem to be very pleased with everything. My sister had her hair done by Nicky. She was not pleased with her carmer. She has moved from state to state and tried to sell her products from other stores. She called her last week and said she was not working there anymore. She was asking for my # and anyone else she knows. Nicky has no integrity. She is unreliable and is very sneaky. Be careful if she surfaces. The Salon will go on to be very successful. I strongly recommend this place. Pros: Very acomadating and nice more
