I am very satisfied with Low Country Ob/Gyn. Dr. Osborne is my doctor & I have also seen Dr. Kate White. I am excited to have these Doctors deliver my baby! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/22/2012

I am leaving and never going back. I have made at least 6 phone calls requesting to speak with my doctor, Kate White and have yet to get a call back. I also wait at least 45 minutes nearly every time I see her. I definitely do not recommend this office. more

I went to this clinic twice and I waited 45 min average each time even though once I was the first patient after lunch. The second time I saw a different midwife so she had no idea about my case. I was told I was going to see the same person. It was aggregating to have to start from scratch. In addition, they had me fill out a questionnaire each visit and the assistant never looked at it so I would have to repeat my self several times in one visit. Poor experience each visit. more

Not patient friendly at all!!!! 3/22/2012

We were referred to this practice by a cousin who had a positive experience when we first found out we were pregnant back in December. The first visit was OK, even though we had to wait about an hour to speak to the doctor to get lab work. During our first ultrasound, we found out ""something"" was wrong during the first 30 minutes of the ultrasound, but were not told specifics saying we would have to ""speak to the doctor"". we then, were left to sit by ourselves in fear and sobbing for another 2 hours, in two separate waiting areas, before we finally were told we had a ""blighted ovum"" by the doctor. We were the last ones to leave that day. during our next two visits, we were waiting, for no apparent reason between the time we were told to be there and the time we saw the doctor for at least an hour and a half each time... just sitting... In addition, during the weeks and months that followed, we were prescribed lab work, and could not get the results, or even anyone from the office to call us back EACH time we had the lab work done, and would usually have to call the office repeatedly to get the results. This week we a passing pregnancy test, with bleeding.... we got lab work done monday, and got the hcg levels back monday. We were told to have the test done again 2 days later and the numbers should double. Well we got the test done at noon, (same as the first day), and have put 2 calls into the office for the result (which basically tells us if we miscarried again), and it is now 8:50, with no reply. Sorry LCOBYN, we are people, not inanimate objects on an assebly line, and we deserve the respect you vowed to give when you received your liscense. Find another practice more

Bad, bad, bad!!! I'll never go back!!! 7/12/2011

I was appauled by the unprofessional behavior demonstrated by the doctors and their office manager, Laura, who is the most rude person I've ever met ! I heard her speaking to (actually it was half screaming at) an employee over a speaker phone. can't say anything good about them, they were awful. These people scared me. more

NOt a place for any complications 8/19/2009

I was a patient there in 2002 thru 2003 for my first pregnancy and I was seeing Dr. White. She was brand new to the practice at the time, pregnant herself and very nice. When I was about 23 weeks pregnant I rushed to their office in West Ashly, in labor. Dr. White was unfortunately in the West Ashly office and I had to see Dr. Osbourne. While I was on his table profusely bleeding and in horrendous pain he starts to tell his nurse this story how many years ago when he was working in the ER at a hospital when some pregnant woman came in bleeding from head to toe - I found this story to be horrifying - especially given my present circumstance. he then stopped in mid story to tell my ""your bag is bulging"" I was in complete labor. his nurse was so nice and took me in her own car to East Cooper right away for admittance. Dr. White was there right away, i was dialated and in full labor and so they gave me ""anti"" labor medicine - altho i did hear Dr. White ask the nurse how much she thought I should be given?! Anyway, it did not work, my cervix continued to dialate etc. I was in labor for 24hours. The next morning when it was time to deliver Dr. White was gone and it was Dr. Osbourne there, he actually said to the nurse just seconds before I deliverd my son ""do you have the DOA papers ready?"" I blasted him stating my son was ALIVE! Seconds later my little boy was born - and yes very much alive. They whiskd him away - I thought great they were going to help him! Everything would be ok! when they brought him back to me 5 to 10 minutes later I ws floored - see they did not have a NICU unit there, the closest NICU unit was at MUSC, which they refused him based on the amount of time it would take to get him there and he was losing oxygen - so the brain damage based on that time amount would of been severe. So they brought my little angel boy back to me, where he lied quietly in my arms and took nearly 3 hours to pass away. It was HORRIBLE. I ahd never been so devastated in my life. The thing is, I should of NEVER been at E. Cooper then. I was in so much labor pain and distraught I did not bother to ask if there was a NICU unit - I figured the doctors knew what they were doing right?? Since they knew the baby was coimg - and there was so much time (24hrs) they should of immediatly had me transferred to MUSC. And then after he passed and he was taken by the funeral home, I wnted to be transferred off the maternity ward right away, there was a lady across the hall from me who ahd a healthy baby and you could see the happy family and ballons and such - my door was decorated in Angels and crosses and I had nothing but crying people outside my room which I know was hard for the happy family to see. Then when i wanted some fresh air outside I was wheeled every time past the nursery - that was the only way out. I begged them to get me off that unit, I begged them to discharge me to no avail. I was finally let go a few days later and I was able to bury my son. But I can;t help but think back and wonder why they never transferred me to another hospital? Why did they keep me some place that could offer No help to my son? Was it greed?? Did they want the money? And Dr. Osbourns crass and rude behavior during the worst time of my life was unaccaptable also. I saw Dr. White again after for a check up, I did find her to be very nice, easy to talk to and I genuinally liked her - I just found her to be a very ""new"" doctor - I am sure she is even more experienced now. I am pregnant now again for the first time since and due to my past history am in the high risk catagory. I am unfortunately in NYC now and having a hard time finding a doctor that i am satisfied with. Dr. White andthe practice seemed great - just beware if you have any pregnancy complications - and east Cooper definitely is not the place to go for that! Pros: Not Familiar in High Risk Cons: Dr. White is nice more

Great doctor's office, no awkwardness! 1/16/2009

I had an annual appointment with Dr. Natalie Gregory. Dr. Gregory is young enough (early 30s) so I felt really comfortable talking to her. She took the time to answer all of my questions really thoroughly. She talked to me about breast self exams and their importance. I learned so much more from her than any other obgyn I'd had before. She recommended that I get the Gardasil shot, something I thought I was too old to do at 22. She was so knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable at every step. There was absolutely no awkwardness, which is so hard to find with a gynecologist. I highly recommend her to anyone especially girls in their teens and twenties. Pros: No awkwardness! Knowledgeable, Considerate, Caring, No wait time more

Best Doctors 11/12/2008

I have been a patient of Lowcountry OB?GYN for several years now. Not only am I a patient but I am a happy patient. My doctor, Dr. White is the best. I could not imagine having another doctor. She makes me feel so important, she goes above and beyond her call of duty. She is very comforting and her bedside manners are the best. more

Not your ordinary ob/gyn office! 6/5/2008

I have had the great fortune to come across Lowcountry Ob/Gyn and have been there a number of times for the ususal check-ups and one procedure. I recommend Dr. Crymes very highly. Her bedside manner and approach to patients is second-to-none. I say this because a friend of mine had both daughters delivered by Dr. Crymes. My friend raved about the experience (as much as you can rave about childbirth!) Another friend had a hysterectomy with Dr. Crymes and wouldn't go to any other doctor, if given the choice. A few other friends have gone to Dr. Crymes for the usual stuff and all swear by her great bedside manner, caring personality, and unconventional approach to how she communicates to her patients-putting them at ease immediately. In fact, on my first visit with Dr. Crymes, before undressing and getting into the dreaded paper robe, she asked me to sit in her very zen office so that she could get to know me a little, learn about my history and any concerns I might have. How novel, meeting wtih a doctor, fully clothed, in their office, having a conversation! I'm planning on having a baby in the next year or so and I wouldn't dream of seeing another ob/gyn. The only downside to my experience with the Lowcounty Ob/Gyn, as a practice, is that it's sometimes hard to schedule an appointment if you want to see one doctor in particular. It is a busy and full medical practice and so as a result, one may feel a little lost in the shuffle. On the upside, the time with Dr. Crymes (or Lynn as she calls herself) is focused, not rushed, and I have not felt lost in the suffle in that regard. If you can get past the busy front office (they're pleasant, just busy) you'll find a great medical practice. Pros: Dr. Crymes (I don't know much about the other doctors.) Cons: can be difficult, at times, to schedule something last minute more

Great Experiencec 10/9/2007

I delivered my first child with Lowcountry Ob/Gyn and had a wonderful experience. Each of the doctors I saw was willing to spend time with me answering my questions, and thorough in their diagnostic efforts. They were willing to work with my desire to have as little medical intervention as possible throughout the pregnancy (uneventful), and did not recommend unnecessary procedures. The staff was always delightful as well, and very helpful with sheduling, etc. My one complaint is that I waited for an average of 30-40 minutes at each appointment. Pros: Supportive, Attentive, Excellent care, Listened to and addressed concerns Cons: Waiting time more

Lowcountry Ob/Gyn 7/25/2007

The receptionists are very short and sometimes rude and it's difficult to get someone to return your calls. The midwife is excellent however when I had to see the doctor about a possible surgery she was not very proactive and I found it difficult to communicate with her. My overall experience at this practice as a negative one and I would not recommend it based on a lack of compassion and professionalism. Pros: good midwife Cons: unprofessional and rude more
