Professional Moving 8/10/2012

Last Week used them for the second time and we were very happy with the service and everything was excellent. We have already recommended them to our family/friends. Mark and his guys were extremely careful, worked really hard and efficiently and were friendly and polite. Our overall experience was wonderful though moving can be stressful and we would definitely use their services again if we ever moved. We also appreciated the calls and politeness to ensure that everything ran smoothly by Kathrine.\r \r Jordan River Moving responded to my inquiry immediately. Paperwork was emailed, they gave me several options to choose from at a fair rate. Also, followed up a few days before the move. They were on time, carefully wrapped all items and even double checked with me what furniture items I wish to have wrapped. They worked fast and carefully placed my furniture into my new place. I will call Jordan River Moving again! Thanks guys for your hard work! more

I recently moved with Jordan River Moving and had an excellent experience. Most aspects where I had struggled with previous movers were such a breeze with Jordan...I didn't know this was possible. Right from scheduling to initial estimation visit, Sean was a pleasure to work with, very honest and up front. When our closing date was delayed at the lenders' end, he even helped reschedule the moving date to a couple days later at our desired times at no extra charge! \r \r The moving crew, headed by Mike, arrived right on time and ready to move. We had chosen a 'full service' move which included both packing and moving...the crew was extremely adept at packing items quickly and appropriately. The icing on the cake was that the crew finished much earlier than the initial estimates...and at a cost of $100 below the initial cost estimate!! Unheard of...\r \r In retrospect, though, if I have to point out any minor improvement areas (yes, they were great, but can be better!), one, they can arrive with better and sufficient boxes (they almost ran out at the end and had to adjust) and two, may be take a couple extra seconds to label boxes better so unpacking is easier. Overall though, I would definitely use Jordan again for my moving needs in the future...good job!\r more

I used Jordan River Moving back in July to move my stuff into their storage facility, where it has been ever since. I was very pleased with the move. I scheduled everything through Kathy and found her to be professional and helpful. The movers were great too as they were fast, but also very thorough with the wrapping. For example, I was amazed at how they packaged my glass table top. I am confident that all of my items are safe in storage. Highly recommended!! more

The best experience I've had with movers and I will only use them. When I first booked them, they gave me a window between 12 and 6 pm, but told me they would call an hour or so before. I got a call the day before confirming the appt. for next day and went over the details (address, supplies, etc). The day of, they called an hour in advance, they showed up on time, and an hour into the move, a representative from the office showed up with a bag of treats and wanted to make sure everything is going well. I thought it was a nice touch. The whole move went without a hitch, the guys were professional, nice, and worked quickly. We moved from Van Nuys to Woodland Hills, and all was loaded and unloaded and done in under 4 hours. They do round up, so we paid for 4 hours. more

The movers from Jordan River Moving and Storage made our move go like a breeze! They moved our offices in a financial district even though there were so many restrictions, they found a way to work around them. They gave us practical advice, helped us to stage the move with the police department and completed the move in what seemed like a blink of an eye. The movers knew exactly what to do when they arrived on the scene and it made for a very fluid experience. Jordan River Moving and Storage comes reasonable and I recommended them to be of a great value to their customers. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking forward to move. more

Jordan River Moving and Storage was recommended to us by a friend and they were reasonably good and easy to work with, had fair pricing structure , professional, friendly staff and overall just great! Went above and beyond and hung my flat screen TV for me in my new apartment for no charge! Movers were incredibly polite, respectful, and definitely made my move stress free! I usually don t write reviews for things, but I felt I had write something given how good they were!!!!! I do have one bad thing to say about them as my only concern was that due to some reason they did not accept payment thru card on that day and I had to arrange for a cashier’s cheque from my bank which caused some inconvenience otherwise their service was not bad. more

So I assume that when I searched for moving companies on the internet that I was looking for the same thing that everyone else who is moving is looking for: a company that will transport my belongings from point A to point B for the amount agreed upon and that it arrives within the window promised and in the same condition for a reasonable price. I have to admit that after providing the details of my move to a Jordan River Moving and Storage salesperson, the quote they provided was higher than a majority of the companies I had received quotes from. But after doing some research and realizing how common it is in the negative reviews on moving companies that the price changes on the day of the move, I realized that there is no such thing as getting a “good deal” on a move. This was also due in part to the information I was provided by Jordan River Moving and Storage. Needless to say, the move went without a hitch and they delivered on everything promised and the main points I was looking for in a mover. \r \r \r more

The guys from Jordan River Moving and Storage were incredible. From the phone call to make my reservations to the moving day itself, I felt like they were all-around professional. I tried calling -- and although they are well-recommended by others, my experience with the reservation process was a bit sketch so my decision was easy. The guys were young, and amazingly strong. They carried boxes of books, kitchenware, and not just one or two at a time. I just stared in awe. They made my life so much easier, and the cost was very reasonable. Thanks Jordan River Moving and Storage I highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking forward to move. more

super fast, hard-working, careful with our stuff and great communications with me while moving our household goods from 2 storage units over to our new house 8 miles away. had absolutely no glitches while moving everything. they had good mo-jo between one another, as they helped each other as needed...guys didn't need to wait for the team leader to instruct them on what to do in various situations. worked 8 /12 hours to move our 4-bed, 2600 sq ft house full of stuff. price was extremely reasonable and included a truck and miles. supervisors speak great English and communicated well with the other men on the job. unbelievably careful with our higher valued items (paintings, furniture, antiques). i would highly recommend these guys to absolutely anyone. more

Awesome guys!\r \r I was in a rush to move out of my house in the outer Richmond back in April 2011, needless to say I failed to plan well....but the guys at Jordan River Moving and Storage got me out of a jam & were able to squeeze me into their busy schedule. \r \r I've also been using their onsite storage facilities since then. Very reasonable costs for storage especially if, like me, you don't want or need to access them all that often. I've only visited twice in the 6+ months I've had them, and each time everyone's been very helpful and accommodating. All they ask is advance notice if you need access to your units, at least 24 hours or more because of the the vault style storage they use in their facility (the video is great, and each time it's been clean & safe).\r \r Highly recommended local business\r more

Jordan River Moving did not lead us astray. Great company. First, they came out and gave us a quote. At first I was a little scared because the quote was a rather large range. But since they don't really know how long it will take to move into the new place, I guess it made sense. Then, they came (right on time, to our cramped little apartment, on our cramped little truck-unfriendly street), they saw all the crap and they conquered (our large unwieldy furniture). They finished well within the quote and estimated time. I would definitely use them again. Good job guys! more

Nothing was broken in the process and I definitely mention the following\r A. On time\r B. Took extra special care with Mamma's good furniture\r C. Super efficient and organized and had no dawdling\r D. Extraordinarily professional, yet WARM and friendly!!\r E. their FLAT RATE was unbelievable. We now realize how we've been robbed by prior moving companies using the hourly rate. Jordan guys have got integrity and will not overcharge you. They are simply the best deal for the highest quality job. more

I really really hate moving, but Jordan River Moving makes it a lot less painful than it can be. I've used them twice so far (both in-city moves) and they were great each time.\r \r The first time I moved, I only had 2 movers and it took probably 3.5 hours or so (which was expected). The second time I moved, we had 3 movers, more stuff (moving 2 apartments into 1) and it took a little over 3 hours. (Both times, I only had them move the big items and schlepped smaller items in my car -- which is a huge pain, but I'm sure saved hundreds of dollars).\r \r These guys are fast, efficient and take care of your belongings. They bring extra wardrobe boxes, tape, etc. Next time I move, I'm calling them again!\r more

I called Jordan River Moving and Storage they were very flexible in terms of time and they actually come at the time you request! Stop looking now, you ve found what you re looking for. These guys are spectacular and charge very reasonable rates. I was moving from on short notice and had a 1-bd apt full of stuff. I called Jordan River Moving up after randomly finding them here and was quoted an unbeatable rate... I could hardly justify renting a truck and bugging all my friends to come lift stuff. So I booked it. Sean and his team showed up on the day with a huge truck, loaded all my stuff up and moved it into my new place quickly and efficiently. He was friendly and professional... even took the time to wrap up my busted thrift-store furniture with padding in the truck. It was the most painless move ever, and quick! Sean really knew his stuff and knew how to get furniture into an apartment safely. I ll never DYI a move again as long as I can call up Jordan River Moving. Thanks Sean! more

I chose Jordan River Moving and Storage finally after seeing their experience in this field and as they were offering me a better price estimation. I've been waiting to write this review on these guys for months I was recommended Jordan River Moving and Storage by a colleague in our office who just lived across the lane and he had all the nice things to say about them ! I backed up this supposition and literally researched a lot before taking this moving activity just for them. These guys are amazing and also very punctual with their work Even though they charge on an hourly fee, they were no joke, running the entire time with my huge bureau, bed, closets etc on their backs-- and, I lived and was moving to second story apartments with a bunch of stairs. I've never seen anything like it. I recommend them to all those who are looking forward to move. Recommended . more

I decided to use them on my recent move. Sean came across as polite and very professional on the phone. I spoke with him about 1 week before my move date and had no problems scheduling with him. As promised, he called 1 day prior to the move to confirm everything. His 3 movers arrived 15 mins early and got right to work. They were very friendly and hard working. I watched carefully and can honestly say they take good care of your belongings. Because I was on the hourly rate, I helped them a bit myself but this was my choice. \r \r My whole move took about 5 hours and cost $540. I also gave each of the movers a small tip. The cost was a bit more than some of the guys on craigslist but these guys did a nice job so I'm ok with that (-1*). They do charge more to use a credit card so keep that in mind. Overall a good experience.\r more

These guys are great, we had an amazing experience. They showed up even a little early which was great and got to work right away. They were very careful with our furniture and I have to say I was super impressed by how much they were able to carry at one time. \r \r It was nice to have wardrobes to move our hanging clothes and they were prepared with blankets, boxes and anything else to pack our delicate frames and mirrors. Our apartment had four flights of stairs so it is no easy task and they did a great job.\r \r Also, their customer service is top notch, Sean asked great questions to get acquainted with the space and called me the day before to confirm everything and ensure we were ready to go. Also, no damage to our furniture is a huge plus!\r \r If and when we move again we will surely be using Sean and his team, A+ service!\r more
