Worst

I've had 4 root canals by Dr Chaves, and all 4 of them needed to be re-root canal-ed with in a year. One of the crowns he put on after the root canal was faulty so I need that to...

very bad dentist 1/8/2013

I've had 4 root canals by Dr Chaves, and all 4 of them needed to be re-root canal-ed with in a year. One of the crowns he put on after the root canal was faulty so I need that tooth eventually extracted, so I had tooth #30 extracted Aug 2012 and a top tooth not sure of # it's the 2nd molar on right upper side. They were both so badly pulled I lost a great deal of bone so now I cant get an implant that was planned after the extraction. I have nerve damage in my tongue and lip that from the damage, a bad lisp, and a burning sensation in my mouth which I heard is also from nerve damage. I'm a mess! I now need an oral surgeon to repair all the damage to get me back to normal to get implants Which is big bucks! I have to go through a 4-6 hour surgery and have bone removed from my hip to replace all the bone loss. Mind you I had gone back to show Dr Chaves the problem several times and he said I was fine. He would not admit his fault in this disaster. I have been in pain for 6 months due to Dr. Chaves. I have 2 hole that you would not believe from both these extractions. My oral surgeon said Dr. Chaves could have messed me up anymore if he tried. Don't ever go to the Dentist. He has also over changed me a numerous occasions which I had caught. He is all about money not his patients. He has ruined the past 6 months of my life and more to come since the oral surgeon said I now have permanent nerve damage. So for the rest of my life I will lisp, burn and feel numb in my tongue and lip. Dr. John M. Chaves is a very Bad Dentist. more

Best Family Dentistry Practice 6/2/2011

Dr Chaves and his staff will take care of all your family's dental needs. Cleanings, fillings, and crowns the works. Top notch staff and they are great communicators. Post care reminders and all that good stuff. I only give out 4 stars because everyone is not perfect. more

Teeth Whitening Looks Great 5/24/2011

Dr Chaves did a teeth job for me. I am very happy with the results. My teeth look great and I am ready for the world. No more hiding my smile, I will let everyone see my teeth. The cost was within reason and Dr Chaves is a nice guy. more

Now I can enjoy my meals to the fullest 5/10/2011

When you get passed 40 your teeth get more sensitive to hard meals, wine, and orange fruits, this is something I noticed just recently. Can’t tell though, if these three are responsible for 2 of my grinding teeth losing strength and breaking up. And you can’t enjoy your meals with wholes in your teeth, which was a source for big pain for me. But after visiting Dr. Chaves (http://www.woodlandhillsdentist.org/), he fixed my molars and now I can enjoy my meals to the fullest without second thoughts. Thanks again more

Dr. John chaves is simply the best. 5/9/2011

I have been going to Dr. Chaves (http://www.woodlandhillsdentist.org/) for 2 years now after relocating from Santa Ana to Glendale 3 years ago. In that first year, I saw several different dentists in an attempt to find a new primary, and I can say without hesitation that Dr. Chaves and his staff far exceed the rest I’ve seen before him. He takes most dental insurances, does a great job, he puts you at ease even when you’re a bit anxious and nervous plus he’s got a very amicable staff. more

He gave me one of those white smiles 5/9/2011

I had a teeth cleaning and now I have one of those white smiles. Guys really like it, and can't say enough good things about Dr. Chaves (http://www.woodlandhillsdentist.org/) and his studio. They take most dental insurances. It's a relief to have a new and very competent Dentist that takes great care of you from just around the corner. I started visiting Dr. Chaves just a year ago on a friend’s recommendation and I don’t regret a bit to have him after spending 11 years with my first dentist. more

Had My Teeth Whiten By Dr Chaves 4/26/2011

Had my teeth whiten by Dr Chaves. He uses a laser system that can last five years. It works great and does not hurt. I do not like to go to the dentist but this procedure is great. My teeth look beautiful. more

He Found A Area Of Concern 2/15/2011

I went to the Dr Chaves Office to have my regular teeth cleaning. When the Doctor checked my month he found an area on my gum that he felt needed to be looked at my a specialist. I went to the specialist and he did a biopsy on the spot. It turned out to be nothing but I feel better that Dr Chaves was on the ball and had the spot checked. Thanks Doc more

My Teeth Needed Work Big Time! 1/22/2011

Dr Chaves and his team did work on my messed up teeth. I had not been to the dentist in a long time. I guess I was scared. They did some fillings and one dental implant to help with the pain I had when I drank cold drinks. Thanks to them my teeth are fixed and I look and feel so much better I promised I would come back every six months so I would not have to go througth that again. Thanks Doc more

Made the pain go away! 2/1/2010

Woke up in serious tooth pain today, After looking online and reading other reviews I called John Chaves, I called and he was able to squeeze me in. His staff was really nice, they took total care of me, the xray showed and cavity which he was able to take care of right away. That being said, the experience was painless and now my mouth feels a million times better. I hadnt been to the dentist in 3 years, so I guess I am lucky to only have a cavity, but I will use them again. more
