Hail damage lead us to John Beal after receiving several bids from different contractors and found John Beal to be the easiest to work with. They made us feel like family and lead us through the entire process to get it done in a timely, expedient, and clean manner. My neighbor hired them to do her roof. They tore off the roof on a Friday and did not cover it. It rained and snowed over the weekend. She had to call them out on Sunday to cover parts with a tarp that were leaking. Meanwhile shingles, nails, and paper were blown all over our yard which we had to clean up. Fast-forward to Thursday when they finally came back out to continue and I come home from work to find them all over MY yard doing their plywood cutting etc. Scraps of wood everywhere, trash from their lunches everywhere, nails in piles in my yard, and they had all their ladders set up in my flower bed which they were stepping all over. I called their office to complain that they were trespassing on my yard and had crap everywhere and had trampled my plants. I was told they would call the crew and clean it up immediately. One hour later still no clean up. I called again and FINALLY they started to clean up. I still have nails, bits of shingles, etc all over my yard. They're terrible....and sadly I'm complaining and it's not even MY roof being done. They are very disrespectful to the neighbors of the home being worked on. more

Do not hire John Beal Roofing. Substandard material. Non- experienced crews. I guarantee your roof will leak. You or your insurance company paid to much. more

I worked for a subcontractor of John Beal. Just finished 2 roofs with him. Problems . 1. Did not put on felt. 2. Did not put on drip edge. 3. No new counter flashing The customer paid for this and it was .of done. Quality problems Not nailed properly. ie Nails blown thru, high nails, nails at an angle, and not nailed on the nail line. These problems will cause the roof to leak and will blow or fall off within a short period of time. In short High cost more

Good: When your roof leaks in seven different places there is not much to like.. Bad: Let me count the ways. 1) It took them 3 months to get to my roof. 2) They left nails and shingle pieces all over the ground. 3) My roof leaked in 7 different places with the first hard rain. 4) After checking around (too late) I found I was extremely overcharged. 5) Their customer service is terrible.. Improvements: I don't even care if they improve. I had a reputable roofing company fix my problems.. more

Roof started leaking within a year. They said shingles were defective. Shingle company inspected roof and said nothing wrong with shingles. Minor repairs made by Beal that fixed nothing -- kept leaking until I paid $500 to another roofer to fix. Now more leaks around dormers and anywhere flashing was supposed to be. more

I went overboard and contacted 5 roofing companies in St. Louis. By far John Beal Roofing Inc. was the most "together" roofing company I called. I would recomend these guys to any one. I was even called after the installation to make sure I was happy. Than you. more

I had the roof of my room addition put on by Beal Roofing just about five years ago. Now I've got water damage inside the house, because of the bad job they did. I know this because my grandson in-law, who is a roofer checked it for me. I watched as he was able to just lift the material from the edge of the house. He said it was supossed to be glued down, but it wasn't. There were many spots on the roof that was just like that. I think it's a crying shame that this company would take advantage of an elderly woman like that! more

They are biggest scam artist in town. There is no different between John Beal and Thomas Construction. They all have expensive ads and lie to their customers. more

Wow, what a horrible roofing company! Ever wonder how they can afford those expensive Cardinals commercials and now one on the Superbowl too??? It's because they are rip off artists! I got so mad when I saw the Superbowl ad that I had to write this. John Beal (or should I say random people that didn't speak English) did my roof five years ago and it recently started leaking. Went up there and found that it had a ton of puddles (flat roof) that spells trouble and also that it wasn't a tear off like they claimed, there were parts of the old roof left and joints that had NO tar on them at all. We weren't satisfied five years ago when a slick salesman came to the house and then when it was time for the job a crew of ruffians that made a huge mess and didn't speak English showed up to do the job. We complained several times and they came back a few times doing crappy touch ups and then blew us off completely but here we are a few months after the warranty has expired and voila, the roof leaks! Not only that but the roofer I had up there said it was one of the crappiest jobs he'd ever seen! I cringe every time I hear that stupid jingle, it's like torture! I don't have thousands of dollars to spend on a roof every five years but that's exactly what I'm going to have to do since I used John Beal roofing. Don't waste your money on them. I tell everyone I know. Go with a small reputable roofer that places like the rehabbers club recommend. In fact there is a company called Koziatek Contracting that gets rave reviews! After all the big monster companies have to get their advertising budget from somewhere and it seems to me that it's from substandard service, materials and workmen at superior price! Beware! more

They arrived for our one-day job at 10am. When they left, they claimed they would return at 6am the next day (ummm... ONE day?) The crew arrived at 10am AGAIN. Minimal communication from the office. We regret using them. more

Everyone at this company was prompt and efficient in everything from providing estimates, to the work itself. They installed a cimney cap and tuck pointed the entire chimney. The worker was on time, polite, and gave us the lowest bid of anyone, for the job. We're very pleased overall and would contact them again if we have any additional work for them. more
