Joey's Movers is the worst moving company EVER!! They quoted me $200 to move my one bedroom apartment to my new apartment a mile away. They were late getting there. Then they brought broken clothing boxes so I couldn't even use them. They took forever to unload my apartment and then took even longer to deliver and load my new place. It took them from 8am till 5pm to move a one bedroom apartment!! My boxes were clearly labeled and they put them all in the wrong spots, they just threw my boxes down on the floor. What they thought was careful moving was strapping a box marked "fragile" to their back, carry it up the stairs and then slam it down on my kitchen floor. My plastic bin of electronics equipment was dropped in the mud and everything went flying all around the front quart yard. They were moving so slow, I had to start helping them!! They had my stuff laying all over the place! There was over $1,000 worth of stuff damaged. I realized that one of my lamps was missing and when I asked about it they claimed I didn't have a lamp- but yet they managed to give me the lampshade! When I called to complain, they told me to submit an itemized list and they would review it and reimburse me. I have yet to see any money or any word back. To top it all off, the $200 quote turned into an $800 bill!! They were so unprofessional and dishonest I would NEVER trust them again. DON'T use Joey's Movers- unless you want to pay somebody to break all your stuff and you do the moving while they sit and watch you! Horrible, Horrible, Horrible! They should be out of business. They don't even deserve one star. more

I have had a 17-year relationship with Mr. and Mrs. Brooks at Joey's Movers. They do a great job and they have moved me many times. They're outstanding people. The people at Joey's Movers is excellent, and they're competitive pricing-wise. They hire strong guys who are young--not me--who do very good service! more

Joey's Movers were very punctual. They were very respectful and careful and didn't hurry in packing antiques and such stuff. They took their time wrapping items. The only thing the company might want to consider, is to have the crew wear uniform shirts to help identify and make them to look a little more professional. Other than that, I think we will be using them again down the road, and we would definitely recommend them to anybody! more

I would give detailed review but since they moved me and know where I live, I will keep it simple. They were super slow...I could've done it faster with couple of friends. They destroyed multiple stuff, scratched up the place, and were super unprofessional. Pay a little extra and get real movers cause they will rob you with the slow move and damaged properties. Joey came out and gave us an estimate the week before our move date of feb. 21st - we got three bids - his was $1300, the next was $1600, and the third was $2800. We choose Joey because he was the most resonable and not pushy like the other salesman. His estimate was wrong - the move cost us $150 less than his original estimate. His movers worked hard and I didn't feel like they were slacking off, and none complained about the difficulty getting some heavy pieces out of the basement or moving thing after they set them dowm where we originally thought we wanted them. They wouln't have stopped for lunch if I hadn't insisted they eat something after working 5 hours without a break. Of course there were a few scratches and minor damage (mostly due to our poor packing) but nothing nearly as bad as we've heard from others using other movers. The guys finished an hour and a half earlier than Joe'y had estimated. They could have easily dragged a** to get paid the extra time but wotked efficiently the whole day. I have never had a move go so well. My grandmother recently passed away and we had to pack up and move out of her apartment at the Presbyterian Homes in a hurry. The three guys we had (Bobby, Dave, and Dewan) were efficient, careful, professional, and courteous. They loaded our three trucks with care and did a great job balancing the loads. Of everything they loaded, not one thing was broken, scratched, scuffed, or hurt in any way. Out of three trucks! They treated her things like they were their own grandmother's belongings. Though they didn't break anything, they were very slow. Pros: Nothing was broken Cons: SLOW and then they try to overbill you on time more

I used Joey's for my recent move based on other positive Citysearch reviews. I certainly wasn't disappointed and would absolutely recommend this moving company. Joey's made my move easy, convenient, and completely unstressful. I had an appointment for 7:30AM on Saturday morning. Amazingly, the movers were early. They did an excellent job of packing and handling my furniture and other items. Additionally, they were completely professional from beginning to end. They handled our items with care, and four of the five people assigned to our move were highly professional and efficient. The fifth didn't do any harm, but he didn't seem to be in a hurry. They showed up approximately 45 minutes early, which surprised us, but it wasn't a problem. A supervisor came to our house about midway through the move to see how things were going. I was refered to Joey's by two other co-workers who used them. They were absolutely fantastic. I had them pack for me which takes 75% of the stress out of moving. I've moved a bunch over the last few years, but Joey's is the first company I can recommend without reservation. Showed up on-time, worked quickly & efficiently, and were very respectful of our possessions. Ask for Isaac, Elliot and/or Josh. They were great. more
