A truly different Italian experience. One of the few places where the owner is actually actively seen around the restaurant. The restaurant itself has a real New York vibe to it, but it certainly does not have the Italian family-style feel to it. They have karaoke about three or four nights a week. Yeah not your typical Italian restaurant. One of the things that was really impressive was the fact that although they don't typically serve oil and spices with the bread, upon request the waiter was happy to have some brought out. Now the bread isn't anything spectacular which was a bit of a disppointment. But you do get a salad with every meal. The ranch dressing was average at best which was a bit of a let down. \r \r Now the main the dish, chicken alfredo was really tasty and something that you should try. But on this empty, Sunday night service was very slow and lacking. Perhaps Sunday night isn't the best night for Joe's and a second chance is something to be ventured. Over all it was ok. Its worth a shot. more

Very enjoyable 11/11/2009

My husband and I were visiting the Dallas area and were looking for a good Italian restaurant. Not knowing the city that well, we took a chance and stopped in at Joe's. After looking at the menu and talking to the very nice hostess, we decided to give it a try.\r \r We went at a great time so it wasn't too busy. We got exceptional service and both of us ordered the Chicken Parmesan and Fettuccine Alfredo Combo. To our surprise it also came with a salad. Many Italian restaurants do not include the salad with the meal. When the salads arrived they were quite large, especially for lunch. The French bread also arrived and was hot and delicious. Plenty of butter was available without us having to ask. When our entrees arrived we were pleased to see how tasty they looked. Both items were absolutely wonderful.\r \r It truly was one of the best Italian meals we have had. We really wanted dessert but were so full we couldn't. However, on our next visit to The Metroplex I think we will definitely have to stop in and try another tempting item and save room for the homemade desserts. We highly recommend this restaurant, and this is coming from someone who is Sicilian. : ) Pros: Delicious food, friendly service more

I used to work here and feel i should warn others of the health risks of eating here. The left over scaps of complimentry bread from previous customers is used to top ever salad. Salads are prepared bare handed by wait staff, which is fine with the exception that the hand sink is broken and the only accseable sink is the restrooms in the front. The cheesecake is homemade but seldom bought. so when it begins to grow mold we are informed to wipe it off and serve it. Mold is a common ingredient even when you step into the fridge where moldy vegitables sit with the ""fresh"" foods. meat and dairy products placed on top of each other create a hecktic and unsanitary fridge. When the health inspecter comes to inspect the owner, Joe, druckenly stumbles out the door telling his staff that he's not there if the inspector asks. So that plus the sewage that backs up into the kitchen would make me un willing to take even a galss of water from this place. Pros: Food is tasty Cons: Unsanitary more
