I didn't file my taxes for 4 years because I had big stock losses. My broker sends the information each year to the IRS. I figured the IRS can see I had big losses so I didn't need to file a tax return. I didn't owe them anything. So I thought. My paycheck got levied for $71,843.28! Man, that's like almost my whole annual paycheck. My boss and with me called the IRS and they said I had over $300,000 of income from the sale of stocks. I needed someone to shield me from the IRS, just like the commercials I saw. Just got my audit papers from the agent at the IRS. We are retired and have rental houses, and also investment property that we flip for profit. Whenever there is any profit :). The agent disallowed depreciation on the rental property.
