We rented It's My Turn in August 2011. The place was a dump - dirty not maintained and general not safe. Most of the windows were not operable leading to bugs in two rooms so bad that we could not sleep in them. Deck railings were loose and falling off and deck boards had many exposed nails. House was filthy with black grime between the sofa cushions and mold in bathrooms. Hats and various personal items remained in the closets and other places from other tenants. I expected considerably more for a $6,500 per week ocean front home. more

I had an amazing time in house #266. It made our family reunion perfect. Working with Joe Lamb Jr. was so easy. They took care of everything. We had a few things brake in the house while we were on vacation but they were fixed in record time. I am going to recommend Joe Lamb Jr. Realtors to everyone. My whole family looks forward to working with them next year for our 2012 reunion. more

Vacationed on the OBX this past summer and had a wonderful experience with our rental home through Lamb. The home was as advertised and actually better. Their web site showed the location to the beach and that was one of the most important factors in choosing our home. Reservation and check in was easy. I definately recommend them and will use the agency again in future. more

Would give them 0 stars if possible...The previous family's review outlines some of our own experiences that we had with Joe Lamb Realty. When we left the OBX last summer, we realized three things 1- they are rude, 2- they are condescending and 3- we will never rent from them again. \r \r In the end, they tried to blame the owner of the home for everything that was wrong, but in reality it was Joe Lamb Jr Realty who were the ones to blame. The home we rented was for all intensive purposes brand new, since it had been recently remodeled, but it appeared that it hadn't been cleaned all summer. \r \r Clearly this organization would never be able to operate their business in any other market other than a resort area. They MUST not have a business model that includes repeat renters.\r \r Next year we will go back to who we have used in the past. more

My wife and I rented Unit 438-B from Joe Lamb. Our unit at first appeared to be very quaint. However, within hours after arriving we realized we had a big problem -- Cockroaches and other bugs. The place was infested. The first roach we saw was at least three inches long. The place also had ants all over the counters and in the cabinets. We also killed crickets spiders and others bugs in our short stay there. When we complained they sent out an exterminator who quickly sprayed and didn't even get all of the floorboards. We also discovered that part of the reason the bugs arrived. Below our deck was a pile of garbage. Yes garbage. When we asked to be moved we directed to someone who was friendly but, who lacked authority to exact any meaningful change. The properties manager Kim Dubec would not even see us and we were told they had no other comparable properties and that they could not give us a refund because, essentially they were just the middle man. We went through Joe Lamb Jr & Assoc. for our vacation last year to the Outer Banks. The house was very clean and ready for us early. Check in and Check out was a breeze. more

I have used this rental company several times when vacationing on the northern Outer Banks. Their selection of homes is huge. There are houses to fit every group size and budget. I have never been displeased with one of their rental properties. They are kept clean and in good condition. The company's catalog and internet information is fully accurate and we have never been disappointed with the rental property we chose. The prices are fair and competitive, and the service is top notch. more
