I have tried Pat's and Geno's, and let me tell you...they are JUNK compared to Jim's!!! Even with the traffic of South Street and hunt for a parking spot do not stop us from g...

My sisters and I loved this fun little cheesesteak joint. We also found the people working there can be compared to the Soup Nazi on Sienfeld. Their steaks are so good they deserve to be a little proud. Just know what you want and how you are going to order ahead of time. :) Pros: inexpensibe, yummy Cons: crowded more

Big Philly Style 8/7/2002

By far the best cheesesteak around. Not greasy so it won't sit in your stomach like a big lead weight an hour after consumption. You really gotta love the ambiance too. Don't expect fancy here, expect tradition. Pros: great value, real Philly style, great location Cons: parking is so-so more

Top of the Line 7/31/2002

Only had Jim's steaks 2x but they were great. My son treated me to my first Jim steak and was it a real treat! Just wish we had one a little closer to where I live. more

I've eaten cheesesteaks everywhere. Grew up 2 blocks from Geno;s & Pat's. However, Jim's are the best! 1st of all because its shredded to perfection & has little fat on the meat. When you order, you do not need a specific ""lingo"" to place an order (even thought I know the lingo thoroughly). Pros: food, upstairs Cons: very crowded more

One great thing about Jim's Steaks is that they are open late & close to where I work. I work weekends & it's conveniently located not too far from there and again, their open late & their steaks taste great! highly overrated 6/13/2002

I once waited in line for more than 30 minutes only to be treated rudely by the help, and then to receive the WORST cheesesteak I have ever had in Philly. Absolutely flavorless and without any merit compared to other great spots in the area. If the steak had been good I could have overlooked the shabby service, but alas.. Cons: crowded, flavorless, hype more
