This is a quaint place just off of Atlantic ave, with the kind of ambience one would expect of a local haunt. Small but private and friendly service. I have tried it three times and pleased to see that there always seems to be something new on the menu. Never been disappointed with either the quality or the price, tremendous value. The chef actually comes out and greets you after a meal, a lost art i think. The only complaint is there is not much of wine list and even less than i would want to drink, but i believe you can bring a bottle. highly recommend more

What a pleasant surprise. This little place serves it up in a big way. We loved the Orange duck, the pumpkin swordfish and the pork rigatoni. Did I mention the crunchy bread and the impressive wine list? Ymmmmm. more

Fantastic Date Night with someone special. We sat by the window and started with fresh hot bread right out of the oven. The Lobster Ravioli just melts in your mouth and the Bacon and Clams had a wonderfully smoky feel. The Bacon was thick and the butter sauce was so flavorful we actually finished it with a spoon. I had the NY Steak Au Poivre, medium rare, with mashed potatoes and green beans. The sauce had a nice kick and the potatoes were as light as air. We finished the meal with the Banana Tart, the tart was fluffy and the chocolate sauce was rich, we enjoyed the tart with European style coffee. I can't wait to go back. more

Jimmy should hire a professional to run his restaurant, as his Bistro is a disorganized mess. As much as I wanted to like it, I will never return unless Gordon Ramsey comes in to fix it. \r We had an 8:30 seating, but didn't get seated until more like 9. Having read reviews of the horrible service we decided to be proactve and order our apps, entrees, and wine simultaneously.\r 15 minutes later i notice our server, a balding male in his 40s, is standing behind the bar, mindlessly polishing glasses. We asked the other server to get our wine, which she did. Later the male server came over to apologize becuase he 'got tied up with some other stuff". \r Apps were amazing, albeit they took a long time. One member of my party was so impressed that he ordered another course of the same appetizer he had just eaten.\r \r Entree course was 3 for 4. I ordered the pailla, which was completely inedible. Clearly it had been cooked much earlier in the day and then reheated (poorly) before being served. The rice was dry and tased like old seafood, the seafood was dry, cold, and horribly overcooked. \r the following morniing I woke up the gargled to get the taste out of my mouth. Later I dry heaved. I can eat almost anything, but the pailla was foul. Nobody ever came around to ask how it was, nor inquire as to why i ate only 20% of my dinner.\r I couldn't eat any more, and skipped desert and breakfast the next day. \r The male waiter appeared to be high throughout the evening, probably pills combined with weed, but he gave me the creeps. When it came time to leave we asked if he took amex, and he stated that they preferred not to. I told him to answer yes or no and he just kept mumbling that they preferreed not to. We paid in cash, and he lost some of it, but later returned after my pregnant wife informed him that she was the only sober person there and she knew he lost some of it. He quickly recovered the missing $20 and we left. \r The Decor is ok, but it's too small, I overheard most of the conversations at the tables near me, and I'm sure they heard us. \r At the end of the day, if you open a restaurant 100 yards from 32 East and Tryst, you need to try harder. more

I had big hopes after reading a couple of reviews. \r \r I called to make a reservation, but left a message on their answering service. James (I assume Jimmy) called me back personally. Excellent...I thought that this was going to be a wonderful Chef driven, well put-together evening.\r \r The place is small. Maybe 8 or so tables and a small bar. Should be easy to manage the crowd, right? Even with 2 servers on the floor and a busser this should be fairly easy. Not so much. \r \r We were sat quickly. They have a small wine list which is no problem. However, I am in the wine business and I had legitimately never hear of one these wines except their Champagne which is a nice producer, Oudinot. We ordered a bottle of unknown Sauvignon Blanc that was easily 2 years past its peak. \r \r We ordered appetizers. They took 20 minutes to come out. Not that big of a deal, but still it seemed a little long for a beet salad and a soup. The Tomato Bisque was excellent and well worth trying should you find your self there. Cool presentation with a cheesy puff pastry that is served atop the pot of bisque. The beet salad was mediocre...I think it could be saved with spicy Arugula instead of the Romaine they use. \r \r So we sat. And sat. And sat some more. Finally one of the servers came to clear the dishes after about 10 minutes of us sitting there looking around wondering when they were coming back to our table. Table cleared.\r No entree order in yet... We have been at the restaurant for 40 minutes at this point. Again only about 8 tables and a small bar in the spot.\r \r So we sat. And sat. And sat for another 20 minutes as we finished off the past its prime wine. Finally the female server came over after we have been sitting at our table for one hour to ask if we are ready to place our order. "No, we're just going to clear out because we've been sitting for an hour." "Oh really?" \r \r The female server was legitimately sorry for the mishandling of the service, and she comped the appetizers. A nice gesture to save the experience. The male server then comes over to say he's sorry, but that we "may want to order all of our food at the same time next time to help with their flow." Well perhaps the servers should tell patrons that when they are first seated if that is what the restaurant needs, or otherwise, don't tell me how to order after the fact. \r \r And why does every entree have Basmati rice? I noticed it, and the table next to us noticed it independently.\r \r Now my wife and I are both in the business so we are pretty patient, but this was just a bit on the ridiculous side. \r \r We will probably try Jimmy's again because anyone could have a bad night, but please take some corrective measures in how you give service. We'll probably bring our own wine because the list is just not very good.\r \r And don't let the male server handle problem situations... more

I can only say great things about this place! more

Hey guys - I have to tell you that my wife and I love your place. The food is excellent and the service is warm and friendly. It is what Delray needed... A neighborhood place with out being to shee-shee. One major draw back is the lack of AC - Dinner last night was uncomfortable. We would love to come back week after week, but this time of year it is just to HOT to enjoy a night out. PLEASE give some thought to increasing the AC. I don't think the open kitchen and vents over the cooking areas help. All the best! more

One exceptionally good little restaurant... and with only 8 tables we do mean 'little'.\r Just opened the end of last year, everything is totally fresh and well prepared. There is a limited wine listing, but it gets the job done, and prices are outrageously fair.\r Seafood is wonderful.. the Paella and Seared Snapper are personal favorites.\r This area on Swinton, everyone knows dada... our suggestion is to go the very short distance the opposite direction off Atlantic, and treat yourself at one special neighborhood gem. more
