It was the hottest day on record, 114 degrees was forecast but it was actually 115 degrees. I was driving on I40, on a long road trip with my dogs out west.
I realized that my car was making a really loud scraping noise, exited and parked, and saw that my skid plate was skidding on the ground.
I looked around and saw a sign that said ""Tires"" and headed over there thinking that they had a rack and might be able to help. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a friendly man and woman (sorry I didn't ask your names!).
They let me bring my dogs into one of their air conditioned lounge areas - they have two - where we relaxed and chilled out while the awesome guy took my car and re-attached my skid plate to my car.
It took about 15 minutes, then he pulled my car around, backed it in, came and got me, gave me my keys and told me that there was no charge.
Thanks so much for fixing me up, ya'll! I was back on my way in no time.
Jim Grizzle, for shizzle!!
