We had a great experience with Jamal from Jim Dandy. We were stuck with a sewer soaked basement this past Labor Day weekend. We had been using another side sewer contractor but he couldn't be back for another week so we had to go with a big company and I was worried we were going to have to pay big money. I dug the hole myself since the other contractor had located the next break in our line. If you want to save some money on sewer work - dig your own hole. It gets quite disgusting, it's hard work, and you have to dig them a good hole. The hole should have at least one foot on either side of the pipe and extend one foot beyond the problem area of the pipe on each end. Jamal showed up when he said he would, was working within five minutes, and was nice as can be. He rooted and scoped the pipe showing us the bad spots ahead, made the repairs and left us with a bill for only $355. A paltry sum in the side sewer business. If you want to save money don't pay a plumber $150 an hour to dig a hole, but dig a good hole yourself. Be warned, anything deeper than 4' is dangerous without proper bracing. Jamal was great, go Jim Dandy.
