Delicious Jewell of India 6/19/2006

My wife and I have regularly enjoyed this restaurant since it opened several years ago. The buffet lunch always offers some wonderful new dishes, and the usual offerings are distinguished by fresh ingredients and excellent preparation. The setting is pleasant and relaxing. The owner does not fail to give his greetings and ask for feedback about the food. Jewell of India serves the tastiest Indian food that I know about! more

Best Indian restaurant ever! 6/18/2006

We have been to many Indian restaurants from New York City to San Francisco. Imagine our delight to find the very best one ever right in our back yard! The food is fabulous! Each dish has its unique flavor - with spices appropriately balanced to blend to perfection. If you can, try the noon time buffet. It is loaded with choices - for both meat eaters and vegetarians. At every visit (and there have been many) the chef has prepared at least one new and different dish to tempt our palates! They also provide a delightful array of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. \r \r The decor is delightful. The service is excellent. Seating is efficient no matter if you are alone or with a group. \r \r We have taken many guests; all (some of whom are very discriminating!) have raved about the food.\r \r This restaurant is well named, for it is truly a jewel! Enjoy! Pros: Great food! Cons: I can't eat there every day. more

Best Indian Restaurant in Denver! 2/12/2006

My wife and I have eaten at Indian restaurants throughout the U.S. and around the world, and The Jewel of India is the best in Colorado, and at the top of the list worldwide--the food is outstanding and the warmth and quality of service are unmatched. Starting at the top, the owner is a gracious host who sets the tone and high standards for his friendly, efficient staff. The menu selection is broad, and the flavors are incredible. We can't recommend this restaurant enough. Pros: Food quality/selectio, Welcoming environment, Parking more

Best Indian Restaurant in Denver 1/7/2006

Jewel of India is a perfect example of reflecting Indian Culture and great Indian food. I have been to many Indian restaurants but was never satisfied. After visiting Jewel Of India, I can proudly say that it is the best Indian restaurant in Denver. I was amazed by the decoration influenced by Indian culture. Service was great and what can I say about the food, it was excellent. Other great thing about this restaurant is the location. It is located next to King Soopers and Albertsons is right across the street so one can do the grocery shooping and dine at Jewel of India. I highly encourage people that like Indian food to visit Jewel of India. I will say it again. It is the best Indian restaurant in Denver. Try it for yourself. Pros: Great Service, Excellent Food, Great Location more

One of our favourite places to eat. 5/31/2005

This has to be one of our favourite places to eat . The service is great and there is a large selection of food to choose from. They cater each meal to your tastes whether you like it mild, medium or hot. We're always seated promptly, have eaten in large and small groups and take our toddler along many times. He particularly likes the buffet! If you haven't tried Indian food before this is a great place to start. The lunch buffet is well worth the money and contains a large variety of foods to try. Pros: never too crowded, good value for money, great for take out Cons: parking average more

Best Chicken Ticca Masala In Denver 5/27/2005

The food and service are always good. The chicken ticca masala is our favorite. Big tender chunks of chicken breast covered in the best creamy sauce. The sauce alone is worth an order of buttered naan or paratha to just dip in and savor. They always get the right amount of spice whether mild, medium or hot. more

A true Jewel 3/13/2003

You would never expect this quality of food to be found in a modest shopping center location. Everything from the Dal soup to the freshly prepared Naans is wonderful. The tandoori shrimp are enormous and anything prepared with their ""delightful"" sauce is simply sinful. If you like Indian food, you owe it to yourself to try this place. Pros: Excellent food Cons: Location more

Great Lunch Buffet! 9/16/2002

Excellent lunch buffet! Nice variety of foods, properly spiced, attentive service, appealing price. And having the warm and friendly restaurant owner on site is a real plus. Pros: Food quality, Service, On-site owner Cons: Ambiance more

Best so far... 8/23/2002

Of the 8-10 Indian restaurants in Boulder/Denver I've tried thus far, this is probably the best I've found. The Taj and Tandoori Grill in Boulder are very good, but this place seems to be more dramatically and complexly spiced than most. The only thing that was below average was the strawberry lassi (watery texture, visual separation of liquid and solids as the beverage rested). Have eaten here many times, very consistent. Note I am a bit of a harsh critic, so my numbers may seem a little lackluster for this being my favorite. more
