Jethro Health Care School

I am also a student of Jethro - took my CNA there in Jan 2011 - passed the IDPH Board Exam, later I took Dialysis - and then Phlebotomy - I also passed the CCHT Board and Phlebotomy last Dec. 2012. I am now working as a PCT in a big hospital in Chicago. I would just like to be fair and give comments on evaluating Transcript of Records since this is one of the requirement to take the Board Exam . When I enrolled last year, at the time of my registration, Jethro staff reminded me that I need to have my diploma translated and evaluated since I graduated from Mexico. The school send all of us a written reminder before the final exam. Most of us, we did not mind about it because we thought it would be easy to do the evaluation. Some of my classmates they ask Jethro to help in evaluating their diploma which was around $ 80 and took them 3 to 4 weeks to get the evaluation. I thought 3 to 4 weeks is a long time, so I did it by myself- I went to internet and look for an evaluating company, I was charged $ 160 and I thought it would be like 7 days only but it took them 4 weeks also to do the translation and evaluation. I called up the evaluation company and they said that it depends upon the country of origination. Sometimes, school don't respond immediately and most of the time, school are in remote provinces or are already closed - thus evaluation time takes longer than usual. In my case, my school in high school closed 10 years ago .... In fairness to Jethro School - it is not the school staff's fault if evaluation of diploma /transcript are delayed. The school only acts us an emissary and they are not the one doing evaluation. So , don't blame the school of something they are not in control. Blame the school if they don't have good teachers or curriculum. I might say for me, I love the school since I had been there from CNA to Advance Dialysis and I was able to get a job and change my life.... thus, I am grateful to Jethro. I took the CCHT Board for Dialysis 2 weeks ago and got 130 score out of 150! I called up the Administrator and thanked for their support. I graduated May 2011 last year and after a month was able to find a job . My other 2 classmates were also hired in other Dialysis Companies. I could say that our exams in Jethro are harder or may be they trained us more. I could say that school really helps and they give us good advice. I was working in a restaurant before, although I had been a CNA for many years, and one of the staff in Jethro just encouraged me to pursue to Dialysis. Now, I am a bonafide Dialysis Tech and I am working two jobs - in two Dialysis Centers. What more could I ask for? Sometimes, we just only have to be patient and strive hard in order to achieve something. When I look for Dialysis Job last year, i had to send my resume to various facilities , but I did not give up .... also,,,,, the recommendation letter from the school was a great help . I took dialysis tech in this school,I finished last march 25,2012.This School has the most disorganized staff.example when u ask them questions they will always answer you i dont know or the staff will answer you different wrong answers specially males they dont what there doing they dont have good customer service.My big issue is they told me that if I had my foreign high school diploma evaluated from them i will save more money rather than doing it myself and they it will be faster. its been a month now and I still dont have it. they told me it will only take 5-7 business days and everytime i called them they keep saying it will be done nxt wk.This school needs a new staff or the owner needs to organized or train their staff to be a good customer service if they keep treating like that they will loose new student. more

I enrolled last September in Jethro School and thought I am already old to be a Dialysis and Phlebotomist. I was really reluctant to enroll but the staff were nice and very informative. I took my Dialysis and went to their clinical in the hospital which I learned a lot about machine stripping, water system etc. Later ,I took the Phlebotomy and able to draw blood , which I was nervous in the beginning. Now, I am working as a Dialysis/Patient Care Tech and thanks for the recommendation and encouragement from the school. more

I took the Dialysis Technician Course from Jethro HS graduated in December last year. I can say that I'm hurt when some people make lies about the school and the admin/ instructors. It only shows they just want to destroy the good refutation as all graduates can attests that we have the best Instructors and training, they can check the school's batting percentage in the exams. For me I passed mine, so I must have learned what they intend to inculcate in me. You haters out there, you will never improve your lot as long as you don't change your attitude. You can't put down a good school. more

I am a bonafide Jethro School student and graduated from this school last November. Whoever, is doing bad publicity to the school, be aware that it is a crime to do internet libel. It just so happen that I would like to thank the school because I just found out that I passed the CNA board last week and currently looking for a job. I am also enrolled in their Restorative Nursing Assistant Course. Contrary to what this bad publicity saying, we pay the school on installment basis and before our midterm and final exam we receive a notice to pay which is very lenient. Also, our teacher was a white American nurse , so how could they say that she does not speak English well where in fact this is her native language. For the School Administrator and instructors, all of them talk in English and we know that they are MBA and RNs. It seems that there is one person who is giving bad publicity in this school but don't know what he/she is saying because he/she doe not know who our instructor . Please stop being jealous to this school. Soon people will find out who you are. I will be attending their Phlebotomy/EKG Class , come to Jethro School and talk with me , I am a real person and student. more

Be smart when reading these reviews. Most of the ""good"" feedback, is very similar. Speak with the owner, who is in the office and you can see the language barrier and improper use of the English language. Consider this: does a random person, come to City Search, to report an inaccuracy in telephone number? This ""school"" is padding their own ratings for a reason. Shady is an understatement! You are responsible for people lives, don't settle for a crack jack box education. Of course they may be nice, until they have your check in your their hand and the first moment they can get away, they will be at your bank. Is that a crime, no but the facts speak for themselves. You will find a better paying job from a reputable school. Employers consider where you received your education! more

I graduated from Jethro 2 years ago as a CNA and I am now working with 2 Nursing Homes. One part time and the other one is my full time. Glad to know that Jethro has the Phlebotomy/ EKG class now. I just enrolled in this class. I am happy with Jethro , they really helped students to pass the Board Exam . Keep it up Jethro and hope you will have LPN Program soon!!! more

I have never attended a school like Jethro. I had alot of memorable experience from this school. I met good friends and learned alot from their good teachers. Also the graduation last December was a bomb! Other schools charge graduation fees, Jethro, on the other hand doesnt charge a penny. The food was excellent and the entertainment was the best. My friends and family who attended the graduation were impressed. I will DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this school to everyone. I cant wait to get into their nursing program. Thank you Jethro for the support. This school was recommende to me by a friend, and went to this school for Dialysis. Reading all the bad reviews, all of my classmates hinted that is a doing of only one person who is only jealous of the popularity of the school and the generosity and kindness of the . Administrator. We will try to find out who is that person . We are an association of students who graduated from this school and are going to give our all out support to Jethro School!!! I would urge anyone to reconsider going to this dump of a ""school"". I looked into it & found out they have loads & loads of complaints against them with the Better Business Bureau & The Department of Education & complaints with the Attorney General. There are other options out there. The person who runs it is a crook & schools don't get investigated for no reason & she made a very racist comment toward me & couldn't answer any of my questions in conversational English without being rude & nasty. more

I would just like to thank the management of Jethro and my teachers for helping me pass the Board Exam and give recommendation to the facility where I am working now. I graduated last July and passed the Board last Dec. I had been out of school for almost 5 years, I thought I would just give up but thanks for the encouragement of Jethro Administrator, I finally passed with flying colors!!!! more

i enrolled in this school for pharmacy tech. i was having doubts at first because of some bad reviews ive read. i talked to the admin and she was nice. i was thankful because they helped me find a job.their tuition fee is cheap as well. i will probably enroll in their dialysis class next time. right now im happy with my job and new career. more

Nice website to check if this is a good school to go to. I am looking into their programs and would want to enroll in the CNA class. They are highly recommended by OCC since I wanted to go into their nursing program. I'll see them on Monday! **excited** more

I too had a horrible experience in one of the other courses offered. My teacher was good but when ever I would ask a question in the office I was snapped at, belittled, & lied to about many things. When I'd call to ask questions I was constantly met with an abrupt nasty answer, then before I could speak I was hung up on. That happened numerous times. Also, the ""scholarship"" they boast about is a lie too. If you're a very lucky person MAYBE they'll knock off $25. they'll tell you ""oh, we just gave it away"" Yeah right you did, in your own bank account. Like some other comments my bank told me my checks were cashed the same day which doesn't mean anything bad but it is shady like I read from someone else. Before someone calls me bitter I'm not, I have a good job in my field too. I'm just saying that you will be treated like crap by the office ""staff"" who really is the owner. She will not tell you the truth about anything at all & pretty much all you will hear is ""your money is due, it's due now. YOU PAY NOW"". It's also clear to me after reading some of these comments after the other person who complained, that it is very likely the administrator herself or someone she directed to comment. Look, just do your own investigation on the school, really look into other alternatives. This school should be your last resort. This is my opinion of course, as are the comments of others. these websites are here so people can read & judge themselves. The defensiveness of some of the other ""former students"" speaks volumes in itself, that the school needs such vigorous defending is a bad sign. Also, the school is not accredited in any way or fashion & there are official complaints on the Better Business Bureau. more

I took CNA from jethro and I was impress by the help and support that the management gave me. I was having a hard time with my class because of full time work and kids but I talked to the administration and she told me that there were other students (old) that were struggling than me and made me push my more

Contrary to the comment below, this school has given me a really great start. I used to work in a diner, when I lost my job, I was told by a friend to try to enroll. The teachers were very experienced and the staff were friendly. They do say that Dialysis Techs earn better than other healthcare field, I do not have any regrets that I did enroll, because I found job, the salary for someone without experience. I know that I have to work hard first before earning much. I know a lot of people who started at 12/hr and are now earning the lowest at 16/hr because of their hardwork. The school has given me a great foundation. I was lucky that i found a job with the knowledge I got from them. So to those who were not happy with what they have experienced in this school, I am so sorry to hear that. Just like people who graduated in big universities, not all can get a good job, its really up to yourself. The same thing applies here. more

I would like to further state that I have great job, in dialysis, NO THANKS to this school-which I did great in. I am not complaining because I didn't learn, I did thanks only to my teacher. I am speaking of the office, the school is the lowest of the low, bottom of the barrel, the administration is a joke. Clearly some are happy with the school, fabulous. But both sides of the story should be told here so people can judge themselves & keep this in mind as they attempt to get truthful answers from the owners, about anything. you can write rebuttals until you turn blue, it is what it is. This school helped me find a job as a dialysis technician. I am now working in a renal center and got alot of praise from my supervisors and coworkers regarding my training experience. I passed the board as well by attending their board exam review class. Thank you jethro! I had an amazing experience when i took my dialysis class. I hope LPN or RN will be offered soon.
