While more expensive than other vets in the immediate area, the life and wellbeing of your pet is worth it! The doctors here are insightful, caring and very knowledgeable. With one visit, two age-related diseases were diagnosed by Dr Hennessey which had been overlooked by another clinic. When the inevitable and painful decision is made for euthanization, the doctors are very compassionate and supportive. Your pet is assisted over the rainbow bridge in a truly kind and peaceful way. I wholeheartedly recommend this clinic. more

Truly the hospital with a heart. 4/21/2011

I have been taking my beloved dog to JVAH since getting her as a puppy over 16 years ago. After many phone conversations with Dr. Shawan I decided it was finally time to put her down. He helped me with my decision by listening to me and explaining what many of her actions meant. He assured me that she was ready, but that I had to be ready as well, and was very patient when I would call to postpone the inevitable. I finally did it, and must say it was an extremely positive experience considering what it was. Dr. Shawan was there for me the whole way, answering any questions I had. He was so gentle with her. I was able to pet her and talk to her through the whole process, and it was like she just went peacefully to sleep. When the time comes for a new pet, JV Animal Hospital will definitely be where I take them for the loving and compassionate care I know they will receive. Thank you Dr. Shawan for helping my dog live a long and healthy life, and pass on with dignity and compassion. more

Excellent Care 6/8/2010

We have been very happy with the care our pets receive at Jersey Village Animal Hospital. We were referred by a friend to Dr. Haese and she has been our primary vet for the past three years. She is gentle and kind even with our cat that does not do well with strangers. The hospital is beautiful and clean. We don't ever feel rushed during our appointment and we have been worked in easily when needed. The prices are a little high but we feel it is worth it, especially if one of our pets is sick. more

The Best Vets in Houston! 6/3/2010

Dr. Shawhan did a difficult knee surgery on my Lab/ Dane with great results. Dr. Hennessey provides excellent care for both my dogs; that includes both routine care and diagnosing problems when they happen. All the staff are very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. If you live in the West Houston, Jersey Village, Cypress-Fairfield area you will not be disappointed with the care and customer service both you and your pet receive here. They are the best vets in Houston! more

Caring, Professional, Honest 7/23/2009

I've taken my pets there for 15+ years. My last dog, a chihuahua, in failing health, and very old. They, in my opinion, gave him another 2 years, with thoughtful and truthful and professional guidance. When it came time, he was in awful pain, and organ failure, and had to be put to sleep...Dr. Justice and staff, were with us and oh, so kind. They do not try to ""rip you off"" and if you ask questions about any test or treatment, they will frankly and non-judgementally give you cheaper options. I have a retired friend who takes her pet to Petsmart or SPCA for vacinnations etc. But, if it is anything serious, she takes her pets here. Pros: Will do the right thing, straightforward, truly care Cons: Price, for some more

The Best Vet Care Available... 11/25/2008

I brought a cat who had been sick for a long time without proper diagnosis by other Vets. Dr Sheehan impressed mewith his philosophy of care. Dr. Tharp successfully diagnosedthat the cat had a hyperthyroid condition and I was sold on theexcellent care. I have now taken four different cats, including anamazing Rag doll male that they gave me who had been foundas a stray.I would highly reccomend this facility. more

First Rate Clinic and Doctors 3/22/2007

We have been using this clinic for over eight years and they can't be beat. Care from all vets is impeccable. This is a first rate state-of-the-art clinic and all of the doctors and staff are first rate. We had to put down two of our senior dogs in 2002 and 2005 and they handled this with grace and sympathy. We now have two new dogs that are patients there and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. They are helpful and good with both of our new dogs. Wish our people doctors were this good. more

Angels Among Us 10/22/2006

Got to know these guys through animal rescue agency I was affiliated with for 5+ years. Fell in love with them and now take my own babies there. Hennessey and Shawhan are amazing. Gals pretty special too. I drive long distance for their services. Worth it!\r They're simply the BEST! more

Outstanding person and veterinarian 5/17/2006

We have been patients of Dr. Shawhan for 7 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. His new state of the art clinic is the best. All of the staff and other doctors at his clinic are wonderful. They are all friendly, compassionate, and treat our pets as members of the family. Can't recommend them highly enough. Pros: Timely appointments, Fair prices, Great care more

Only emergencies 11/17/2005

I lived close by here a couple of years ago. I had never been before my dog had an accident. I thought the care was great, people were great, but I almost fainted when I saw the bill! It was a huge amount for a lot of totally unnecessary tests. It was worth it because my pet got great care, but i dont' think I would come here for just check ups and what not. Only for emergencies when urgent, great care is needed.! PROS: CONS: price more

Animal Hospital 11/8/2005

Jersey Village Animal hospital is very efficient, they take pride in their work. They complete most of their work in the same day and if not they are more than willing to give a full explanation of why. They also have boarding services available. Prices are a little high but they have good quality. more

Beautiful New Facility, Wonderful People 11/4/2005

Wonderful doctors for our two 8-week old kittens (adopted from the SPCA). The kittens came from the pound with kitten colds and sneezes. Jersey Village Animal Hospital let us leave the kittens for evaluation while my fiance and I were at work, and had great suggestions for us when we arrived to pick them up. The vets are responsive and easy to reach by phone. They really seem to go out of their way for our new pets, and their new facility is very bright, clean, and people-and pet-friendly. Be sure to note that their new address is off of Jones Road, not Senate. Call them for directions. more

Everyone is so caring! 7/22/2005

My family and I have been taking our cats and dogs to see Dr Shawan and his staff since 1984. The front desk people know you by name, and they always make a fuss over your animal when you go in. Once I even called just before they close at 7 PM on a weekday night, with a minor emergency. The Doctor working at the time, waited for me to get there, and then treated my dog. I did not arrive until 7:10 PM. This is the BEST Veterinary office that I have ever dealt with! more
