Sally, I have not boarded your dog and the last time you came to see me was in 2005. Your dog never ran loose from my place. He was only here for grooming. I did not let him...

Worst

re: Boarding: Our dog also got out and ran in front of a car 3 blocks away. Thank you to the neighbors in the car that were very kind to rescue her. \r

Truly a Spa for Your Special Canine 8/21/2007

Jen knows dogs. She gives excellent advice and treats all dogs as if they were one of her own. We have a border collie/retriever mix and he has very long, black fur. Being a neighbor, Jen often saw us walk by with Cannon, our hairy mongrel. When I came to her asking what she could do for Cannon's hair/nails/etc., she asked if I'd considered shaving him like a lab. I was a little skeptical, but agreed. When we saw our exuberant pup upon return from his day at the spa, he was running around like a puppy. He was obviously thrilled--and so were we! He looks great. Jen paid attention to every detail (including his nails and ""undercarriage""). What's better, is Cannon saw her the next day and went bounding toward her, wagging his tail all the way. That made me smile. (This from the dog who'd rather bite my hand off than let me trim his nails...) Keep in mind this is truly a doggy spa--not your run-of-the-mill 1 hour groomer. Jen's All Natural Pet Spa is worth the (little) extra price (ie: for us, Pet***is usually $60+ and Jen's was $80+) and the peace of mind knowing your dog is well cared for and will look exactly as you envision. Pros: Jen is knowledgeable; Exceptionally clean facility; Happy Dog! more

In answer to grooming practices could lead to animal injury! 7/23/2007

I'm sorry you were disappointed with your grooming session. I realized when you called that you are a very protective mother. Your pet didn't show any fear of getting bathed at all instead he held still while I washed his face. My shampoos have no chemicals, detergents or soap and can be used on the face and around the eyes. I explained this to you as I washed his face. Bacteria and fungus grow around the eyes because of tearing and around the mouth do to saliva. This needs to be washed thoroughly. A well known vet showed me years ago how to flush ears out to remove all fungus and bacteria. This helps to eliminate and control any ear infections. Most of my clients enjoy their ears being cleaned. I have also done this to myself in this very tub. I asked you to stand back from the tub because you would get wet and keeping your hands in the tub would give the message to your pet that he will be rescued. I would never be able to get him cleaned as he would be confused and demand you to pick him up. My work is very exhausting. Giving a dog clear commands helps them to settle down and be comfortable. Treating him like a baby will only enhance his anxiety, giving him the underlining message that something really is wrong. I have been an animal trainer and groomer for 37 years. I have always had an accident free work place with no injuries as I am very diligent to make sure every pet is safe and enjoys his stay with me. I wish you all the best in finding a groomer that meets your needs. You may enjoy grooming him yourself when you feel better instead of taking him to a grooming salon. Jen Pros: Owner is kind and understanding!! Very experienced with the more

Horrible service!! Will not come again!!! 7/16/2007

Jen did a terrific job grooming my puppy but he came out traumatized. I knew Jen's place is far plus her service is expensive but I was still willing to go to her. I pamper my puppy and would like him to have the best experience in everything. I was looking for a groomer that wouldn't make my puppy wait in a kennel while they work on other dogs. Before I made his appointment with Jen's All Natural Pet Spa, I spoke with Jen and was told that he wouldn't have to wait in a kennel. He would be worked on the minute he gets into the spa. The minute he arrived to his appointment, Jen put him in a kennel. As she was putting him in the kennel, she said she was going to go get coffee to start her day. I didn't like the fact that he was put in a kennel. However, I thought it would be short. Jen would just go drink her coffee and be right back with him. I dropped him off at 10am and he was not done until 3pm. When I arrived, Jen had 4 dogs in her care. Jen had left a message to me stating "" I am running late but I am finishing him up"". I started leaving for her house since it would take me at least 40 minutues to reach her house. I thought by the time I get there she would be done. She was snappy at me upon my arrival. She told me she was running late because she has heart problems. When I dropped off Benji, he was the only dog there. However, when I arrived, Jen had finished working on another dog and Benji was stilling waiting in the kennel for his hair cut. When she brought him out to me, she did not hand him to me. She dropped him on the floor. I do not know what Jen did to my puppy while I was not there. He is now traumatized. He is not acting like his normal happy-go-lucky, sweet and friendly self. She charged me $81.60 for a very horrifying service!!! Jen's All Natural Pet Spa is not the right place to go to if you would lke your pampered dog to receive individual attention and love. There is no word to describe how angry I am with her service. more

Best Groomer in the Seattle Area 2/27/2007

Great Groomer!!!!! Jen is very knowledgable about dogs and knew exactly how to groom my Cairns Terrier. She knew about the breed and all the problems associated with this breed. She was able to groom all the old hair off of my dog and my emmy look fantastic.\r \r The only negative might be finding her shop. Took a bit to find in Issaquah but not too bad. I would recommend Jen to anyone. Pros: Very Knowledgable Cons: Location more

A great groomer, very personalized, and caring -very artistic 10/3/2006

We were referred to Jen's by our breeder who has bred many litters of Goldendoodles. This was our first pet and didn't know quite what to expect in the way of grooming. We found Jen to be extremely helpful, offered many suggestions regarding grooming at home and learning about behavior techniques. She also offered suggestions regarding Dakota's diet which we were unsure of. After Dakota's first grooming we felt she did an awsome job. She left Dakota looking like a Golden Retreaver, yet with a very soft and clean natural looking body. We found Jen to be a very experienced and caring groomer. Her salon is quiet and clean. We picked her because she offers only individual appointments which helped our puppy to be relaxed. She seemed quite content when we picked her up and happy. We definitely will be back. Pros: A great experienced groomer with a beautiful salon. Easy to get to after knowing how to get there. more

Our dog looks fabulous, Awsome Grooming Salon 9/29/2006

We took our standard poodle and found her place to be an awsome salon. It is actually a real spa! We were amazed when we walked in to soothing music, an exceptionally clean salon with beautiful marble floors and walls. Jen seemed to have a special calming influence on our Salina. We were concerned because we have found our dog to potty on the floor at other salons and come home shaking all over with her hair uneven. Not only did we find her beautifully styled and exceptionally clean but playful and content. Jen is very thorough in her grooming including attention to detail. We found her very willing to accomodate to our request! We also appreciated her wealth of information regarding diet and skin care. We will definitely be back!!!\r Traffic can be challenging but it is worth the drive especially when we found the off leash dog park to be around the corner from her house! Pros: Clean and quiet salon, owner was very friendly but business like. Very knowledgable and experienced. more

Nice person but did not listen to what I requested for my dog. 9/28/2006

I think that this groomer does have many satisfied clients, so if you have a pure bred dog with a specific published standard for grooming, this would be an ideal place to bring your dog. My dog is a small mixed breed with a quirky look and an especially fluffy face and neck, which I love. When I brought her to Jen, I specified that I was mostly interested in her having her claws trimmed and being cleaned/brushed in general. Jen suggested she hand pluck my dog's fur for hairs that would come out, so I agreed but I told her that I like the ""bangs"" which grow from my dog's forehead, and that I love her neck and face fur, which is (was) fluffy. I specified more than once to keep her natural, that she really just needed a cleaning and her claws trimmed, but not a fur trim, although I didn't mind if she pulled out the fur destined to fall out anyway. When I picked up my dog all of her fluff was gone! She looks shaved! I didn't want to show a bad reaction in front of my dog, who was obviously traumatized and would pick up on my reaction, so I paid (was quoted $25 - $30 on the phone and charged $40) and left. Jen cut off all my dog's fur so she now looks like a short haired dog -- I hardly recognize her! My husband was outraged when he saw her! And I feel guilty because my dog is now obviously uncomfortable, and even cold. Jen even cut off all of her face whiskers which I don't believe should ever be done to a dog! Jen did say that when she cut off my dog's fur she wished she could put it back on again, and I do too! She also pointed out that it would grow back. I do believe what she did, she did gently and with consideration for my dog's well-being. My dog's claws are beautifully done and her ears are nicely cleaned. As I've said, if my dog were a pure bred with a specific grooming standard, I'd bring her back. But in order to maintain my dog's unique look (if it will grow back!) I won't be bringing my dog back to Jen's All Natural Pet Spa. Pros: Careful work done, very nicely groomed claws. Cons: Did not listen to what I requested for my dog. more

Best all natural grooming for dogs of any size 9/24/2006

Jen really knows and loves dogs. She has great nutritional as well as behavioral information for you and your pet. Her products are good, and services offered are complete and reasonable. Especially recommend the Nail grind for those pooches with tough to do nails. And if you're not a fan of gland expressing, here's the place to have it done! Pros: Ease of appointment making, parking available Cons: Plateau is tough to navigate more
