Worst store experience EVER! 4/4/2019

Worst experience Ive ever had in a record store out of the 100's of record shops Ive frequented in the US. Im one of the biggest record collectors in this area. Grabbed 2 LPs I had been looking for that were overpriced.. went to the counter, asked if they could work with the price and take $5 off each one. Lady got furious and said the records are priced like that because of "labor". Figured ok, I havent seen a soul in this store for hours, they need the money. As I go to pay full price for both records accepting the fact that they arent going to discount the records. The lady walks to the other side of the counter with the records, sets them down and tells me to get out of her store and that I'm trespassing. I immediately took out my phone to document this experience as I've never been treated in any store Ive shopped in like this. A man then comes out of the backroom who I believe is the ladys husband or owner, starts walking towards me and assaults me while I'm recording. This is ALL OVER me asking for $10 off overpriced records which I was willing to pay full price for and giving them the business after I get denied on the discount. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. THEY WILL NOT LET YOU CHECK THE CONDITION OF THE RECORDS EITHER. EVERYTHING IS TAPED AND THEY WILL DENY YOU ON THAT TOO. Worst business Ive ever been too. If i could give 0 stars I would. As you can also see by other reviews, others have said similar things. more

Think twice/overtaxed 11/26/2018

I will never go in this store ever again. She was offended when I asked about the tax because the price seemed high. "You don't have to buy them then." They were a gift so I purchased them. I checked my receipt later and she charged 7% sales tax instead of 6.26%. This is why these people are still in business. They have been ripping people off. My advise ebay or amazon will take your item back(they sell used items too). more

shocking. 5/6/2017

By far the worst experience I have ever had at a music store. I am a record collector and would never buy a used record unless I could see the condition. I brought 5 records to the front totaling $100 and asked for them to open the poly that they place on them so I can see the condition of each. The employee said she would only open one per visit! I asked "how am I supposed to see the condition of the used records? She said "you can buy them elsewhere. So I left. I have been to 100s of stores and never had that happen! How can this place stay in business with that policy is beyond me. more

BUYER BEWARE!!! 8/17/2013

I bought a used CD from them. The CD received was damaged, so I returned it. Jelly's refused to refund me on the premise that they don't have to. So now they have the merchandise and my money. When I field a complaint with my bank to get the money back, these psychopaths contacted my employer and tried to get me fired from my job!! Yup, you read that right! They knew where I worked b/c in email correspondence with them, I used my work mail address. So they wrote a letter to my boss stating my behavior was unethical for trying to return the Cd and therefore I should be fired from my job. If only I had read the poor customer service reviews before doing business with them. *sigh* more

standard stuff bordering on overpriced 6/30/2013

Good for standard rock. Not going to find any modern alternative cds here. Punk section is common stuff. Jazz section is ok for 'best of' type cds. Classical isn't worth looking at. There are records, and dollar VHS tapes. Boxed sets and dvds are higher priced than you would expect, and the same dvds sometimes available next door at That's Entertainment, for dollars less. Avoid talking to the tall, paranoid man behind the counter. more

Awefull expirence!! 5/7/2012

I would every now and the go here to find a deal. Well I found a blue ray that I considered a bargain we.. I took it to the register and asked if she ( the Asian woman just so you know who I'm talking about) could just open and check for scratches. she opened the package and took out a disk and said there's a smudge but no scratches, blue rays are indestructible. although they aren't , I get what she was trying to say. but I had a week ago at a seven eleven, bought a used Star trek blue ray that turned out to have scratches that rendered the blue-ray unplayable. and told here this and asked If there's anything wrong with the disk can i return it , She said if it is defective; yes but if I scratch it , I bought it. OK I get it . But a red flag popped in my head. but proceeded to buy it after she wiped the "smudge". I got home opened the case and popped it in the PS3. It registered as a DVD I thought that whoever sold her the used blue-ray and slipped in a DVD instead. So I called them and said it had been there about 45 minutes ago and the blue-ray she sold me had a DVD in it. she said "no it wasn't; it was a blues ray.. you saw me wipe it and show it to you. I said I know you did but, it was a DVD not a blue ray. She said "don't give me bullshit, it was a blue ray" being that said, I responded with the same kind of harshness and told her I will never enter her establishment again and that she can shove the disk up her A$$. She hung up. Was so heated that I wanted to take the meager 11.95 disk to show her it was a DVD and just break it and leave it for here to show here it wasn't about the money or that was trying to take advantage of her! when I picked up the disk and was about to go back I looked under the promo papers that where on the left side of the cover and to my surprise there was a blue-ray disk underneath. I was like crap! The cover art didn't say blue-ray and DVD. Feeling a bit of remorse I called back and told her in a very sincere tone that "I apologize for what I had said and that the disk that you more

Used and New cd's 8/21/2005

This udes cd store is much more of a warehouse than it is a 'store'. With just boxes and bins of used cds, organized in a semi-intelligible fashion. When you can actually manage to find the CD you are looking for, it is worth it, but often times in the effort to dig and find that which you seek, you end up getting frustrated and buying the full priced cd off of the neatly organized 'new' section. In short, this store is good, but not great. If there was some form of order to the chaos of used cds, it would reach the rank of great, but until then, just good. more

Good independent music store 8/21/2005

This is a decent-sized independent music store. They have a pretty good selection of used CD's and they've got tons of new CD's. I haven't been there in a while, but the last time I went they put the newly acquired used CD's in a separate section. I think this is a nice touch that's helpful for people who go there often looking for used CD's. more

Wonderful used CD store in great location 8/7/2005

Jelly's Discs has a ton of quality music CDs for good prices. Take some old CDs to trade and pick up some new tunes! Sales people more or less know their stuff, too. While you're there, be sure to stop in next door at That's Entertainment and check out their DVDs and games. Both are two of my favorite sources of entertainment and go great together. more
