I just recently switched from another Aveda salon to the Plymouth Meeting location since it's closer to my house. I honestly didn't anticipate there to be a huge difference, but I...

Cancelled my last appointment when I learned Larry was no longer there. Best haircut ever and fun to talk to. JM refused to tell me where he had gone but with a little bit of de...

Wonderful world of hair cuts 2/25/2007

Jean Madeline located in the plymouth meeting mall offers wonderful service, a clean work place, friendly employees and beautiful hair styles. My hair dresser Larry always makes my experience enjoyable. I have very coarse curly hair and he always manages to find helpful products and fun stylish new ways to wear my hair. I would highly recommend both Larry and Joanne if you are looking for the prefect hair cut and good conversation. Pros: Positive Aura Cons: Very busy more

The Best Hair Salon 2/25/2007

I had the best experience when I visited Jean Madeline In Plymouth Meeting. George did an excellent job coloring my hair, it turned out perfect! I enjoyed the hand massages during the time Joann cut and blew dry my hair. This was the first time I went to her and I am going to continue to have her do my hair in the future. She knew all about the products and what I should use on my hair. It was very helpful and I love the Aveda products. The overall service was great, everyone was very nice and helpful. I am going to continue to go there for years to come. Pros: Service Cons: Crowded more

great hair color 10/8/2006

I was disappointed to read a bad review of jean madelin. I went there and got hilites and loved it. The girl who did it worked there for like 15 years and knew what she was doing. It is a little expensive though but I really loved my hair. I didn't get my hair cut so I don't know how they are with that. I would recommend to go there for color definately. Pros: good result Cons: expensive more

Very unprofessional, 6/9/2006

I had such a bad experience at this salon a few days ago. I had heard mixed things about this place but liked my friends cut so decided they should do my color. As my color was being set I overheard 2 of the stylists being totally catty talking about other employees. I let it go - I guess that happens but should not be in front of customers. But the worse part was that after my color was washed out, she brought me a cheap trashy looking blow dryer and asked me to blow out my own hair. Now I have been to many salons over the last 15 years and no place has ever asked me to do my own hair. When I asked her why she wasn't doing it she replies ""I don't blow dry hair"" without any apology. I asked if someone else could and she said no ( I would have payed extra). So they stick you in back to blow dry your hair. If I would have seen clients blowing out their hair in the front window I would have ran the other way. No one bothered to tell me about this detail. I asked if I could get at least a flat iron and she told me no, since the stylists buy their own and wouldn't let me use it. I am a little confused - don't they teach you how to blow out hair in hair school? I mean, that is the same as me removing someone's appendix and waking them up to suture themselves back up. I may not want to suture them but I would do it and make sure its done right. Pros: aveda products Cons: unprofessional, not full service, rude more

Good value for your money Good in between place 2/23/2006

I visited Jean Madeling at the Plymouth meeting mall. I first went there because it was the nearest salon to my house that sold Aveda products, then I discovered that their prices were a lot more reasonable than other salons. I really enjoyed the visit. The stylist were very nice and helpful. I paid $29 for a haircut and even got my hair dried, and flat ironed. I was offered water, you name it. I like the atmosphere very nice for a mall hairsalon and the price alone made me happy. I got a gift bag with trial size aveda products which was awesome. I like my hair cut and since I have not had my hair colored there all i can say that if you want top of the line color youre prb better off at a salon that isnt in a mall. I will def return again. Pros: Location near me, Aveda products sold, prices Cons: experience ofstylists, distracted stylists, mall milieau more

Exceptional 2/13/2006

During my recent visit I had the best experience. They start off with a tour of the salon and beverages. Then they give a head and shoulder massage(wonderful). They don't stop there with a hand and arm massage. My stylist Joann was very educated, and I felt comfortable during my consultation. I had a great time learning tricks to blow dry my own hair. The price was well worth it at $55.00. My experience ended with products I had to buy! Also a gift bag at the end. I will recommend the salon to everyone!! Pros: Educated, Fun Cons: Packed more
