except for Joy and newish male....many mistakes and attitude at front desk....never know when or if your appointment exists.....still some great people like Virginia around. Color...

i have been going to Jay Michael, since they opened in the new location two years ago, I adore elle and nikki!!!! They are the best team to work on your hair. Nikki is always suggesting new and fun things to do with the color, and it always looks sooo perfect! Then your off to elle, who always has the newest haircut at hand, and will offer many suggestions to fit your lifestyle needs.[Every time i get cut it just falls into place, and is so easy to style!] And the color from nikki stays the way it should, from appointment to appointment! If you are in the main line or philly area, you must try my duo out!! I could not be any more satisfied.\r \r \r \r \r more

Not customer friendly unless you're a regular client 9/5/2007

We were very disappointed with our services at Jay Michael. My daughter and I both had appointments for formal hairdos and makeup. The makeup services were above our expectations. The hair was very disappointing. My daughter had to wait for her 'updo' so that her operator satisfied his usual clients. When he saw one of his regular clients, the operator rushed my daughter along with her 'updo' and hurried her out never even asking if she was satisfied. She was treated as though she was a 'bother' .\r I would never recommend this salon unless you want to be treated as an 'afterthought'. I had higher expectations since a good friend recommended this salon, especially for formal affairs.\r \r It was a Very disappointing experience.\r more

AMAZING! MUST GO!! 8/17/2007

I have been going to Jay's salon for 5 years now and received many of their services. I have never been disappointed and neither will you. Elle does all of my haircuts. She was event voted Best of Philly: Best Blowdry. Shes so fun and personable, we're always chatting up a storm. The receptionists are really friendly and always compliment me on my hair (BEFOREE I even get it done!) and clothing. They all know me by name and are so friendly. I can't say enough about this salon. I love it so much and would never even dare go anywhere else! Their tea is also sooo good!\r \r I almost forgot to mention! Their new location is simply beautiful!!!!! It feels like a movie! Stunning! Pros: Friendly staff, amazing results, great parking and shopping!!, amazing staff and service! BEAUTIFULLLL New Location Cons: absolutely none! more

fabulous new color!!! 7/4/2006

I would just like to tell anyone who will listen that nikki is the best colorist i have ever had work on my hair. She was very effecient in asking questions about myself that i would never thought would effect my color...like what colors do i enjoy wearing, studying the colors of my face, at first i have to say, i thought it was a little peculiar, but i just went along, as i heard she was the best. Well...my hair looked incredible, vibrant, and natural! And now I'm addicted, and a very expensive addiction might i add... but worth EVERY penny! And to top it all off, she gave me an fabulous blowdry that stayed in for days! Noone else will be touching my hair exept nikki!!!! Pros: Parking is awful Cons: staff and owner very nice more

Best kept secret of the main line 6/30/2006

I needed to get my hair cut ASAP on a holiday weekend and my normal places were completely booked. I heard about this salon and decided to try it. They were able to fit me in on a normally busy Saturday with an excellent stylist. Jessica gave me a great cut and styled my hair so I could actually wear it out. Usually it is very difficult to style my hair and I wind up doing it myself but she did exactly what I wanted. She recommended good tips to keep my hair healthy and gave me samples of their product lines used at the store. Jessica was so nice and so were the rest of the people that worked there! I would definitely go back and Im looking forward to their new location in Suburban Square. more

I left excited about my new hair! 4/20/2006

A friend recommended me to go see niki after getting a horrible color and cut. I needed a color consultation for the corrective color, and she made me very confident that she could fix it. Sure enough she magically gave me what i had always wanted....a color that brightened me up,and it was fabulous!!!!The cut was a dream come true,something that i would have never asked for, but it was perfect for me. Funky yet classic at the same time. I don't usually take the time to fill these out, but i love my hair and think niki is great and want people to go check out this miracle girl. I am the pickiest person in the world and i do have to say she is a magician! Pros: niki, shampoo is sooooo auw more

Extremely satisfied 4/20/2006

Nikki Castaldo made me feel as though I was in a New York Salon. My highlights were natural but bright, yet it provided me with enough contrast that suited my skin color. My layers fall in place effortlessly. I can't go very far without someone asking me who cut and colored my hair. more
