I felt compelled to write about such an amazing stylist at Jay Michael. I met Lauren over 2 years ago she was referred to me for hair extensions. I had been to several other salons and they told me my hair was to weak and damaged to even think about it. She gave me hope and said we will start off slowly and see how your hair responds. We put in just enough to make my hair look fuller and a little bit of length. I was like a new woman! Over the past two years I have continued working with Lauren. She is amazingly talented and can work miracles which she has continued to do for me.My own natural hair has now grown at least six inches and is healthy. It will always be very fine and thin. Now Lauren adds in extensions for fullness and dimension. As every woman knows your hair is your crowning glory, I never knew that feeling until I started working with Lauren. For anyone out there who has been hesitant to try extensions I encourage you to go for a consultation with Lauren. She is truly a gifted artist. I wish I could post before and after photos! more

Felt compelled to say this because of such a great experience I had. New stylist Natalie was fantastic. Even though she's new to the salon, I could tell that she brings a lot of previous experience with her which makes her such a great asset for Jay Michael's. I would definitely recommend her as a stylist for anyone who's interested in quality work. more

Nikki C is without a doubt the best hair colorist there is! It was two weeks before my daughters wedding that I went to see her for a color correction and damage control. Several months earlier, I visited a high end hair salon to get my hair ready for the wedding....I ended up with overbleached hair with orange roots and my ends were literally breaking off. With two weeks and two visits she had my hair back to life again! The color is beautiful! It looked great for the wedding and it is now healthy again!! I will never go to anyone else. Nikki is awesome. She calmed me down and made me the happiest mother of the bride. Thanks a million!! more

Nikki C is the best colorist! 5/23/2012

I have always had the worst experiences getting my hair colored. In college, I had platinum blonde hair, and decided after college, that I wanted to go dark and be natural. I had years of bad coloring experiences. No one could get it right! I often had to go back for color corrections, etc. After moving to Ardmore, I did some research and found that everyone recommended Nikki C. at Jay Michael. I figured I'd give it a go. I went in for a color consultation with Nikki C., and brought a few pictures with me. Nikki C. took her time with me and asked me alot of different questions to get an idea of what I truly wanted. I immediately felt at ease and could tell she was a real pro at haircolor. When it came time for my appointment, I went in confident because I felt so comfortable with Nikki C. In the past, I would always feel anxious and worried about going to my haircolor appointments because I was so worried about whether they would mess up or not. I wasn't worried at all with Nikki C. She worked her magic. Nikki C. gave my hair an all over color, and then weaved in some highlights and lowlights with shades of auburn, copper and some lighter and darker shades. She also threw in some balayage underneath. My hair looked absolutely amazing when all was said and done. I have received some many compliments and will not go anywhere else. The outcome of having beautiful, multi-dimensional color that looks this good is well worth the money!!! more

Great Haircuts 4/28/2012

I've been getting my haircut at Jay Michael in Ardmore for years, and I've always left very satisfied. They have a number of different talented hairstylists. I've been going to Allison for about a year now, and she is very personable, professional and always does a great job. Highly recommend. more

Jay Michael Salon in Saint Davids 4/19/2012

I first discovered this salon during a promotion for a charity they did where services were highly discounted. Manicure and haircut were great, so I went there again for a full price manicure. It was still great and I got a 10 minute complementary massage. So I discovered Tom, who gives great deep tissue massage. I can't comment on their hair services as I go elsewhere for that, but I would highly recommend this salon for nails and Tom for massage. Staff is friendly and pleasant, salon is clean and airy, plenty of free parking. more

Christina is the BEST! 3/1/2012

I love Christina at Jay Michael. She is an amazing colorist! I value her opinion ! She takes her time when she cuts my hair and I consistently get a great cut from Christina! She puts my young daughters at ease when she cuts their hair. I am thrilled Jay Michael Salon is open on Sundays!! The Salon is clean and I feel I receive Top Notch Service! more

Haircut 2/6/2012

I went to Jay Michaels with one of my friends. She got a haircut and it lookes amazing. Since her hair got messed up once by an pretty unknown haircutter she was kinda affraid that this might happen again. but after her experience she's more than confident in going back again. the service was really good and convincing! Its definitly worth it going there more

Keratin Express withJudie 1/9/2012

I used to hate my hair in warm, humid climates. Summer time was a nightmare. My hair is very wavy and gets frizzy ... if I dont get a Keratin treatment from Judie. Judie give me Keratin Express, which is supposed to last 6-8 weeks. I get months from a treatment. My hair is super shiny, so easy to blow dry (if I decide to), and even my touch-ups last much longer. If you fight with your hair, try Keratin Express with Judie more

Rude and obnoxious 1/9/2012

The receptionists at the Jay Michael salon are incredibly rude and unpleasant. After I waited for one full hour, I apparently had a lot of nerve to say that it was not appropriate. The receptionist was rude to say the least. The manager who walked up to see what the issue was just shrugged his shoulders.\r \r Apparently repeat customers are not a priority, and I will happily make sure that I won't be back. more

I have been going to J.J. Manning to color my hair for six years. Initially, I was nervous about going to a professional salon to get my color, but he did a wonderful job from the first time and every time since! I often have people tell me that I am lucky I don't have to get my hair colored yet, so I know that the color looks natural! He is very skilled at his job, and I recommend him to friends whenever I can! more

Nicki C is a Great Colorist 12/25/2011

I stoppped going for a while and tried to color my hair myself. Not good! Nicki is patient and helpful and nice and really works with you. She does an amazing job with color, tinting, double process etc. \r \r This place is pricey, no bargain hunting, but for great color, I recommend Nicki highly. more

I won't go anywhere else 12/20/2011

Lisa is by far the best hair stylist I have ever gone to. Prior to discovering her talents, I was terrified of getting a hair cut because no one would ever listen to my wishes - they'd do what they wanted with my hair. In Lisa's chair, I do nothing but relax. I have the utmost trust in her abilities and knowledge -- if something doesn't work with my hair, she'll tell me, rather than talk me into something because it leads to a bigger payday (as other stylists have done in the past). She is absolutely phenomenal and I recommend her to any and every one! Jay Michael is a bit pricey, but it is worth every single penny - you're definitely paying for quality! more

Bruce DuBois - THE BEST 12/14/2011

Bruise is absolutely fabulous with color and style. I get so many compliments on my hair. He knows exactly what looks best and is always on top of the latest trends in styles and color. My hair is so healthy because of how Bruce takes care of it. I have been a client for over 15 years and I travel far to see him. He is all about service. You absolutely should see him. You'll never go anywhere else. more

I love my hair color because of Allison!! 11/30/2011

Allison McAllister has been doing my hair for five years and ever since the first time I have gone to get my hair done by her - I have received compliments on my highlights and cut. I get blonde highlights and my roots are never harsh or that noticable. Allison makes my highlights, and sometimes lowlights, very natural looking, which I love so I can look like I am a natural blonde! I have had very long hair, and have trusted her with cutting it around chin-length. Between getting compliments on my hair very often, Allison being so sweet, nice, and on time, and an awesome color specialist and hair stylist, there is no way I could go to anyone else! Allison works at the Jay Michael Salon in Ardmore - I definitely recommend making an appointment with her!!! more

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. I would not let them cut my dog'. 10/25/2011

Please be prepared to change your hair style if you attend the $10 haircut workshop. I was very disappointed with the owner wanting to cut off my naturally long hair, that women spend a lot of money for with extensions... Needless to say, I had a very sweet stylist , she knew I did not want a lot taken off. However, the finish product , I had more than expected cut off! I was not very happy when I returned home to find out the length of my hair was , minus four inches and not cut straight across, and layers that were suppose to be ""hidden"" which were not ! I look like I received a $10 haircut! Therefore , I would only recommend someone to go if they wanted a very drastic haircut! Very unhappy with the cut I received. I thought I could expect a little more from Jay. Will not be returning.... The day after is even worse! I just got my hair measured to see exactly how much was taken off, and it's a Whopping SIX INCHES !!!! I went from telling the stylist only a ""dusting"" to one inch and that is it. My hair was touching the top of my pant line and now I am lucky if it reaches under neath of my bra strap. They are very deceiving, I looked on the floor and did not see long pieces, they cut in steps so I could not see exactly how much they cut off. I am disgusted. I DO NOT recommend anyone to get their haircut through the hair workshop. You will be very disappointed. I am having nightmares. Not only did I speak with the staff the day after... I kindly explained what happened and ""Jay's"" remark was, ""What did you expect from a haircut workshop!"" They did not even acknowledge that I specifically stated, ""I only want less than an inch cut off, no layers , and no bangs"". Jay stated, ""this is a hair workshop, did you expect to get a good cut?"" I honestly thought I could expect more from JAY, but I was wrong. This is poor business etiquette, I don't care if he is Jay Michael or a top notch New York stylist, he was wrong for going against my wishes, I was very adamant on the amount of hair I would allow to be cut off. I could tell on the faces of BriAnne and Sal , they all knew he was wrong for giving the orders on the cut. One thing is for sure, I WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT HAPPENED TO MY HAIR. DO NOT GO TO THE HAIR WORKSHOP IT IS NOT WORTH IT. Also the staff on the phone was very rude as I was telling her how dissatisfied of a customer I was, and the worse part about it, is I actually had to pay to receive the WORST haircut ever. more

Great experience with Nikki C 10/10/2011

I have been going to the same salon for over 20 years and was ready for a change. I had my hair cut and colored by Nikki C and love it. I have received many compliments on both the color and the cut. Nikki C made me feel so comfortable as did the other staff. This will definitely be my new salon. more
