Jasmine is the perfect cozy spot to share Sushi! The Seminole Sushi is great and the prices aren't so bad. The Sake bombs are also awesome. The environment is very cozy and intimate, whether you are with a large group or with a partner. I recommend this sushi place to everyone! more

Cozy 3/31/2006

This cute little sushi restaurant is decorated sparingly and deliberately. The decor and tables look like something you would find in a book about how to design a restaurant. The sushi is delicious and not expensive at all. I only spent $8 (without tip) for lunch and I was actually served more food than I could even finish! more

Lovely atmosphere, relatively inexpensive sushi 3/16/2006

My friends and I love to celebrate occasions (birthdays, new jobs, an A on a hard paper, Friday, etc) in the back room at Jasmine. I would describe the ambiance as NewYork meets Tokyo (more of the former than the latter). The sushi is good and inexpensive (when compared to a traditional sushi bar), if not completely authentic. For example, sometimes my rolls come in less roll, than slightly rolled together. This is usually the case when the bar is swamped (Friday night) and someone has called out. Slight inauthenticities aside, the sushi is always fresh and delicious. My favorite is the Chirashi bowl (assorted sashimi on a bed of sushi rice), which I can usually share with someone and pick a few single Nigri pieces and wind up spending around $10 w/ tip. If you, or someone in your party is not into sushi, they have great - fully cooked - options. I've tried the wraps, and they are delicious. They have an assortment of sakes, beer (including ichiban), and a full cafe for teas, lattes, etc. My favorite time to go is Sunday evening, when they have a sushi buffet for $12. Its an assortment of probably 5 sushi rolls (sometimes they experiment) and all you can eat salad and miso soup. Itudakimasu! more

Located dead center in downtown, this pint-sized sushi refuge is a perennial favorite of collegians and over-30 coots alike. Loads of Japanese lanterns light the quaint, rough tile-floored dining space where Jasmine serves lunch, afternoon snacks, 4 'til 7 happy hour and dinner on weekdays (dinner only on Saturday and Sunday). Makimono rolls come in many flavors, and at prices that don't require a call home for funds. Best buy is a special twin-roll sushi option - Philadelphia and Japanese Bagel, maybe? - served with a darned good miso, or a fresh green salad (great ginger dressing), for $7.50 at lunch, $10 at dinner. Many Nigiri pieces, too, for a dollar or two. And 11 app or munchie plates - Sunomono, Shumai Dumplings, Edamame - for an average $5.75. Service is quick and attentive, but occasionally quirky. As in the time when a bowl of miso came with two spoons for sharing. more

Jasmine Cafe & Lounge - Sushi 8/13/2005

This quaint little sushi house is situated in downtown Tallahassee. It's low ceilings and beautiful ambiance make it a great, cozy place for a casual night out or a impressive place to take a date. The price for a plate of 8 sushi pieces is about $6-9. It's a bit expensive, but well worth it. more
