Love our new replacement windows from Jantek 2/9/2012

Love our new Jantek windows! We researched the product and they are indeed the best windows on the market according to what we found! The people were fantastic to deal with and they were 50% less expensive than their closest competitor... what's best is this is a local manufacturing company ... and we like to support local businesses! more

Highly Professional Experience! 1/9/2012

We had driven past the Jantek factory many times on our way to the shore and knew it was a local manufacturer who also sold directly to the public (hard to miss the sign on the building ""Open To The Public"") So it when we decided to replace our windows we contacted Jantek Windows along with a few other companies. Jantek invited us to drop by their showroom/Factory and check out the product and the factory which we did (impressive to see how windows are made). Out of all the companies we received estimates from, Jantek windows had the best insulating ratings from the Department of Energy. And their price was much less! The windows are of excellent quality. All of the folks at Jantek were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. The installers were very courteous and diligent We thank Jantek for a highly professional experience every step of the way! more

Outstanding windows and company 12/20/2011

Our home was built in 1971 and we have been doing some upgrades and remodeling over the last few years. We finally go to the windows this year and shopped around and got estimates from a few companies. A neighbor down the street had told us about Jantek windows and so we contacted them and stopped into Jantek's showroom. We were impressed by the product... and were very impressed by the fact that the showroom person was more intelligent about windows than any of the salespeople from the other companies that we had talked to. They sent someone over to our home to measure and give us an estimate ... and we expected the ""hard sell"" three hour ""dog and pony"" show that the other companies insisted on giving us... Jantek was in and out in just under an hour... and that included giving us all the info we wanted and a price that was 30% under the next lowest price. Since they manufacture their own windows locally, we had our windows installed in less than three weeks from the day we signed the contract, the other's had quoted us between 6 and 8 weeks. Finally, and most importantly... Jantek's installers amazed us with the quickness and efficiency and thoroughness of the entire job, everyone was pleasant and polite. After the work was complete (installed 12 windows in one day), they cleaned up after themselves. A jantek supervisor came to inspect the job with us and showed us how to operate and care for our windows, and also reviewed our warranty with us. Given all the work we have done with contractors in the last couple of years, Jantek stands out as breath of fresh air! more

Fantastic All Around! 12/16/2011

We are thrilled with our Jantek Windows. The whole experience was very professional and their people are extremely knowledgable and professional. After researching many window companies on the internet, we found that only Jantek and another firm carried energy efficient windows which were applicable for the Federal tax credit this year. Sing the credit was not much, my wife and I decided to expand our search and came up with three firms to contact for an estimate. The first I visited because it was a local firm. They basically showed me a window and said that's it, that's what we have. No explanations of its quality, but I could see why not. The next firm I called, they would not discuss their product over the phone. I would have to make an appointment with a representative; we were not interested at that time to sit down with a ""Salesman."" When I called Jantek, I spoke to Sheri. She was extremely informative as to the types and cost of their windows. She gave me an education. Based on her conversation, I visited Jantek's Showroom which is attached to the factory where the windows are actually manufactured in Medford. Sheri showed me Jantek window products and explained the differences and the cost. Because of her, we set up an appointment with Dave to come out to give us an estimate. Dave was a pleasure to work with, straight forward and informed. He clarified any other questions we had and we agreed to purchase Jantek windows and set a date for installation. Jantek's employee Installers were there on time and proceeded to install our windows professionally. Again, a pleasure. So not only did we get a fine product, but we dealt with very professional individuals. My congratulations to Jantek on their fantastic products, and their hiring practices. more

Family company stands behind their work 9/16/2011

Caution: read the whole review not just the first paragraph!!\r \r No one said home remodeling would be easy. We found that out the hard way when we had 21 windows installed by Jantek this past summer. A few days after we had paid our final payment and signed off on the job we noticed that when our neighbors would grill, smoke would come into two of the rooms with the new windows, including my 3 month-old daughters room. We called and spoke with our sales rep (who has since retired) and after multiple phone calls and a visit from one of the junior installers were told that there was nothing we could do and if we were not happy with the work we should not have signed off on the job. \r \r Frustrated and angry, we hired a contractor a few months later to reinstall the windows. After we removed the aluminum capping we discovered why there was smoke coming into my daughter's room. There was no insulation around the window frames leaving a gap of up to 2 inches where air freely traveled between the windows and the house frame. The only thing keeping the outside out and the inside in was a thin layer of caulk around the interior brick mold trim. Additionally, we noted that the window frames were not flush with the house so we could only use Aluminum capping and could not trim the windows with any type of brickmold casing on the exterior. With the windows now fully exposed and just a few days before our contractor was to start reframing the windows, my wife decided to call Jantek again so they could inspect their work. Shortly after our call, Dave showed up at the house, he inspected the work, informed us that the windows were not installed to Jantek's standard and offered to replace the windows and do a complete reinstallation. 48 hours later Dave was back at our house measuring the windows and scheduling the reinstall.\r \r After speaking with Dave it became very clear that Jantek values their reputation and are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure we were completely satisfied with the job and that the job meets or exceeds all industry standards. It appears that the initial less than satisfactory response was the result of poor communication and that our concerns never reached the appropriate person. Dave also assured me that Jantek has taken steps to ensure that this never happens again. At this point we are looking forward to have the windows correctly installed. To be honest having dealt with contractors on a previous house, I have never had a contractor come back and invest the time and effort to correct a problem 6 months after the initial install. There are a couple of more windows we need replaced next year and Jantek will be the first company I call.\r more
