Jane & Paul's Farm Inc

This is a great farm, and a great place for kids. I have been going here for years with my children and have never experienced any rudeness. I do not know the owner, except by seeing them all the time on their own property and farm. more

Reading the April 17th review, I just have to laugh. Jane and Paul's Farm is beautiful, with wonderful produce. But the owner just doesn't like kids, plain and simple. I think the last reviewer is the owner, lol. If not, the reviewer certainly does not have kids. Look at the review written on May 14, 2010 referring to parents with ""entitled children"" and in the most recent review, the reviewer says ""the world does not revolve around your precious children"" Wow, someones got some issues. Farms are great for kids, well, maybe not this one. So, if your childless, march your Birkensocks right on over to Jane and Pauls, they understand. more

Great farm, great produce, great environment, and great owners! I have had nothing but great experiences here. The truth is children Do touch everything and sorry people but no parent can ever watch their child 100% of the time. I know they have events, berry picking, corn maze, and pumpkins for the kids. So quit complaining the world does revolve around your precious children. I agree this is a business and power to them to not allow kids to run wild and touch and trample their livelihood. more

I love buying fresh produce, especially corn at Jane and Paul's. It's all on a beautiful piece of land. I look forward to going there every year. Having just read reviews of it not being kid friendly I have to agree.I thought it was just me who felt this way. I didn't ever notice that being the case until one time last year my then three year old simply touched a squash on display. I already gave my usual warning of look don't touch, yet the woman behind the counter proceeded to say something to my son that maybe she thought was amusing, but I thought was rude. I could see if my son picked it up and dropped it. I would have been mortified and paid for it, but he simply touched it. Other than that it is a good place that should be cherished as there aren't many places like it around. A little more courtesy on the part of the staff and owners would go a long way too. Pay no mind to the rebuttal to the complaints about the farm not being kid friendly. She is obviously a friend of the owner and does not have kids. Read the comment under her review. Let's just hope the lady running the farm reads these. Pros: good produce in store Cons: Not kid friendly more

Pay no mind to the entitled people with the entitled children. Jane and Paul both work their behinds off year-round to produce the freshest, tastiest veggies of all kinds (not just strawberries, blueberries, corn and tomatoes like a lot of places--they grow their own lettuce, broccoli, asparagus, onions, potatoes, peas, carrots...you name it), not to mention the bountiful and easygoing you-pick strawberries, blueberries, and apples. It's a real treat to be able to buy the freshest, most delicious produce locally, instead of the tasteless stuff shipped in from California, and I for one am grateful that they are there. Yes, there are rules; a farm is a potentially dangerous place for under-supervised kids, and the kids are potentially devastating for many crops. Your kid may only step on and kill one plant out of thousands, but your kid is just one out of potentially dozens each day. And, of course, the farm is Jane and Paul's home, and it's outrageous to think that it should be treated as a public place beyond the clearly marked public areas. It's not a carnival or a petting zoo--it's a FARM, where you can see animals and pick berries as long as you comply with a couple of basic rules and use some common sense. And if you are asked not to rip open corn husks on ears you aren't buying...well, why should you get to destroy the market value of the rest of the crop? I buy dozens of ears of corn each summer and I can't recall the last time I got one that wasn't perfect, so there is no need to make any ears unsalable by tearing them open. That's just rude. I have been there twice. The produce in the store is very impressive, the farm is very quaint. Nice place to go blueberry picking. I agree with the other reviewer, the owner got uptight when I walked alittle past the designated area with my daughter (holding her hand) just to take a look at the field out of simple curiosity, and the owner ran over to me telling me that I ""are not allowed over there"" Come on, seriously. Take a chill pill. It's a farm, many customers of farms would not even be there if it were not an activity to do with the kids. They have a ""petting zoo"" but you cannot pet the animals as there is a high fence and if you want to feed them you put food in a tube. I guess she's afraid of lawsuits of kids being bit by the goats and catching an ungodly disease. Oh, and let's not forget the obnoxius sign in front of the corn maze that says you are stealing if you go in and not pay. Hey, I understand people need to make a living and there are some people who sneak into places without paying, but please, have a more pleasant sign. Lady, relax. I gave this farm 2 stars only because they do have really good corn.The woman who owns it(Jane)is usually floating around the store and outside by the flowers but she is incredibly rude.They offer kid parties,hayrides,and other kid ""friendly"" activities but she has no use for children and is always very unpleasant to them. I had been going there for about 6 or 7 years but 2 years ago had enough and have not been back since.My kids have been well behaved there every time and she'll still have something to say.When they would help me pick out corn she always told them they're not allowed to touch them (with me standing right there).Don't touch the plants dont touch this don't touch that.I'm one of about 5 people I know of that will not go there anymore because of her. Really is too bad.If your kidless worth a stop for the corn otherwise stay clear. more
