Jamaican Blue Coffee Shop

I have been going to Jamaican Blue for quite a few years now. It was a comfortable place to go. Enoyable Atmosphere. Fun, pool table.. comfortable seating.. relaxed/chill. But a over the past couple months jamaican is turning into the normal scottsdale hang out. The comfortable environment at Jamican Blue is fading away. It is loosing that underground/ dive bar feel. I never would have thought a place like Jamaican Blue would ever warp into what is ... Still have great coffee, and a good beer and wine selection though!! But if you are looking for that underground, indie, artsy coffee shop feel Jamaican used to posses it no longer has that quality to offer to you. Pros: Good Coffee... Good Beer! Having been going here for nearly 11 years, this place is excellent for all types of people. It has a very quiet and intimate atmosphere, but with just the right amount of social noise. Highly recommended for coffee-drinkers, and non-coffee-drinkers. Alcohol is fairly new (introduced about a year ago), but doesn't seem to have a large effect on the scene. Live bands are nice, but can be disruptive to the romantic aire. Couches, restraunt chairs, and bar make this an excellent place for studying, reading, relaxing, or just socializing. The coffee was fantastic, the service great, the WIFI free...but, beyond that it offers nothing. The place is little more than an open air tavern (they sell booze). The fantastic, superior coffee, served in a styrofoam cup, is made by someone who knows his craft. If you are looking for a place to sit, eat a light breakfast, and read the newspaper, this isn't for you. But, if you only want *the best* coffee in Phoenix, then this it. Jamaican Blue is not just a place to go get coffee. Its a place to get away from the world between the awesome friendly customer service to the internet hookups, live music and the decor, one would think they had stepped into a whole other country. this was a place that i have never seen before. a coffee house with a big screen T.V.? what is the wworld coming to. actually i rather enjoyed my stop here. the staff was freindly and the coffee was good. Pros: good atmosphere Cons: no outdoor seating more

I loved the relaxed bohemian atmoshphere. It was definitely an original coffee house. No plastic corporate feeling here. more
