Messy Food in a Pristine Place 6/22/2006

I came here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was incredibly quiet. A friendly server led us to a table in the corner, covered in a crisp white tablecloth and with the silverware rolled up tidily. This place serves jerk chicken? Despite the settings, it does, and very well. Very reasonable portions and a wide menu featuring a host of Jamaican sides such as plantain and hibiscus sorrel. Ride on up to the Howard stop to enjoy some hearty, natural Jamaican Food in a tidy, whisper-quiet setting. This just might be a well-kept secret. more

This is a great Caribbean restaurant on Howard St. The people who run it are friendly and help to provide for great atmosphere to complement their good food. They also have a room that can be used for private events. The food is good and the prices reasonable. There isn't much on Howad in the way of food - so this place is a godsend. more

Carribbean Flavor! 1/13/2006

This place has really great carribbean food! The head chef went to CHIC and has had tons of experience with carribbean cuisine. They've got a huge variety of menu items like Goat Soup and Fried Plantains. The Jerk Chicken salad is great, I haven't been too adventurous to try anything more authentic but someday I will! For dessert definitely get the grape nut ice cream, its awesome! This is a great place with reasonable prices. more
