Jalisco Restaurant

I'm just trying to save you money by posting this: much earlier today I went to Jaliscos on North Ave in Milwaukee's eastside. Don't bother wasting your money here. The food is mediocre/bland at best and despite being the only customers in the restaurant, we had to wait a looooong long time for our food. We ordered tacos de chorizo con huevo. That takes like, what, 5 minutes to make? It took about 30 minutes and the chorizo was so bland, no flavor. Our queso fondido was like a hunk of cheese dropped into a bowl of caldo and vegetables. So gross. Both waitresses were too busy eating to ask if we wanted any refills. I need a soda to wash this crap down, lady! I don't know who on the eastside you are fooling, Jaliscos, but it's not me. This is craptastic food that only tastes good if you're on your 15th beer. I'm so sad that I spent money here. Never again. more

The staff was friendly and all, but the food could not have been much worse. The meat smelled funny, and we had upset stomachs by the time we left. We are the kind of couple that don't like to waste food, but we couldn't finish our tacos ;( more

I always order a steak burrito with a Bud Lite and my daughters absolutely have 2 order their chocolate cake 2 top off a great dinner! Luv it! more

Would not recommend this restaurant. Ordered a pitcher of margaritas, they charged $26 for essentially margarita mix, no tequila. The alcohol is significantly over priced, and the food is average. Cheap food, but you get what you pay for. Pros: Cheap food Cons: Overpriced/very weak drinks more

I've been there a few times since I live 2 blocks away... Not great food, huge portions, but the meat is often gristly and below average. No free refills on soda. Service is usually quite good. I've had a few good meals, but the bad outweigh the good. Pros: Large portions, quiet Cons: Taste may make you not want the portions you get more

The salsa fresco is the best I've ever had! I moved from Milwaukee 10 years ago, and when I visit family here, I never miss a chance to eat there, and can taste the flavor of the salsa even if only in my mind...Okay, yeah that's a bit greedy sounding, but it is excellent. The only way it could be better if it was free throughout your stay, and you didn't have to pay for another refill. Pros: Good Food, Price, Hours more
