We have had the alarm for a few years now and it's never worked quite right. At first, we'd have the keypad beep incessantly because it showed batteries were low in several of the window alarms. We spent a good deal of money replacing batteries that were supposed to last a good while. When they kept going bad, we had Jadtec come out. The first few times, we were told that it was just a matter of replacing the batteries and that nothing was wrong. When the problem persisted, someone else was sent out and he was able to make some adjustments. And then we started getting false alarms in the middle of the day. The police were sent and we were fined. Jadtec couldn't tell us what had gone wrong. We had cats at the time and they suggested that the cats could have triggered the alarm. It got to the point that my mother stopped turning it on because she was more concerned with a false alarm and fines than the possibility of a break-in. Now the keypad has started to show that certain windows or doors are open when in fact they are closed. It's been very inconsistent. Yesterday, however, it showed everything was fine and I armed the alarm as I left. Within 30 minutes, the alarm went off and the police were once again sent on a false alarm. When I returned, the front door was locked (just like I'd left it). The keypad was beeping and showing that the alarm had gone off because of the front door. I typed in the code to turn off the beeping. The funny thing is that it immediately showed a FAULT at the front door even though I had closed and locked it when I had come back in. The damn alarm is on the fritz! And to top it off, Jadtec now wants to charge a min of $75 to see if there's anything wrong. They suggested that something like cats could have set off the alarm before. Well we don't have cats anymore, there are no kids, it's just two people in one house. No one touches the sensors. Jadtec just can't own up to the fact that their product is simply not working.
