Avoid Jack's !!! 5/19/2010

ZERO STARS -- brought my guitar in for warranty service and was told, "The warranty doesn't cover that." When I asked to see the warranty, the guy says, "I Just know its not covered." The GUITAR WAS SPLIT ALONG THE GRAIN!. He told me "You bought a CHEAP GUITAR." I told him that would have been valuable information when I purchased it from him! If I end up having to buy another guitar, I WILL NOT be going to Jack's. No professionalism whatsoever in there. more

Nice independent music store 1/2/2007

In the days of downloading and chain stores, finding a good independent music store is rare. Jack's is a good one, the employees are pretty friendly and knowledgeable and the selection is good if a little skewed toward rock and pop. Prices for new CDs can be a little steep because they can't do the bulk buying to compete with the chains. Every once in a while you can score the mother lode in used CDs and vinyl though which are priced very competitavely. more

Expensive music 4/8/2006

I like Jack's Music, but I rarely go here. They are very over-priced in my opinion. CD's are usually about $8-$9 more here than they are at Target or Best Buy. However, it can be fun to shop at Jack's because Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi tend to stop in every so often to pick things up. The store also sells used CD's, musical instruments, and sheet music. If you ever need sheet music for a hard to find song, Jack's is guaranteed to have it! Finally, Jack's is featured in one of my all-time favorite movies, "Chasing Amy". more

Great Collection 10/7/2005

Jack's Music Shop is the type of music store that has not sold out to just popular music. It reminds me of a vintage store that still carries all of the classics. Jack's has been a store in Red Bank for such a long time now that it really has created an iconic name for itself! more

Nice local record store 9/20/2005

Nice record store to find local bands' CDs. They have a good selection of music and a large selection of sheet music. This place was made famous by Kevin Smith movies but it has a lot more than that to offer. Larger selection than most local record stores. The wokers love to talk music. more

As Featured in "Chasing Amy" 8/21/2005

If you're a Kevin Smith fan, this store's facade is a familiar one. If you're not, well, Jack's is still worth visiting. This shop has been selling music to residents of Red Bank for years, and shows no signs of losing business. Jack's offers a wide variety of music, like most music stored ought to. Prices aren't too bad, and they also stock a nice assortment of sheet music, and frequently support the local indy scene. And if you really like Jack's, you can always go home wearing one of their souvenir t-shirts! I've picked up a handful of tough-to-find CDs, and never regretted it. more
