We are getting solar and we found out that we had one bad tile on our roof. We were referred to Jack The Roofer from the solar company. Jack said he would fix the bad tile along with approximately 19 more tiles that needed to be fixed. Luckily, we happened to have 20 roof tiles that were left when we bought the house and we requested that he use our tile. The crew came unannounced when no one was home, and we got a message that the crew completed the job. We were confused because all 20 of our tiles were still in the back yard. We requested someone to come out to show us exactly what work was done. All that appeared to be done was 3 tiles were replaced, but they were replaced in grey tiles, not our red tiles. The one bad tile, the whole reason that we called Jack The Roofer, was not even touched and was still in disrepair. My husband went up on the roof with the guy and handed him tiles and supplies and the guy replaced the grey tiles, and fixed the bad spot. We requested that Jack The Roofer discuss this with us, and to possibly review and revise the bill. His response (and only response to my email) was that he had no problem putting a lien on our property, and he promptly called the solar guy who had referred him and told him that we were refusing to pay the bill. We were not refusing at all, we just wanted to discuss the issues! We do not believe that the crew replaced 20 tiles, and if we had not requested they come out to show us what they did without first setting up an appointment, we would have been left with a broken tile, and 3 grey tiles on our red tiled roof! Not only that, but this would have also delayed our solar had we not been the ones to be proactive to find that the job had not been completed as stated. I do not recommend this roofer whatsoever!
