On Monday September 15th I made an appointment at J C Penney Salon. This was for the 16th at 7 pm with Juanna. I later applied some box color to my hair that turned out disastrously. I called the salon again and asked if Juanna would have enough time to try to tone down the red shade? The receptionist assured me that at 7 pm I was Juanna's last appointment of the evening and that she had lots of time to work on my hair, as she was working until 9 pm.
I arrived at the salon at 6.45 pm. Juanna was with another client and told me she did not have time for me and that I had been phoned to that effect. I replied that I had not received a phone-call. Another stylist chimed in to say she had left a message. I again replied that I had received no message. I asked Juanna was there anybody else to help me? Her response? "No, you can try somewhere else."
What evidently happened here is that somebody from J C Penney Salon did call and leave a message - a message that I did not receive until I arrived home after having my hair done at another salon.
This was collossally bad service from J C Penney. They should not have assumed that I knew my appointment was cancelled. They should have made every effort to find a substitute stylist for me instead of callously telling me to go someplace else, especially at 7 pm, and given the fact that I was flying to the east coast the following day.
I will never go to J C Penney Salon again. Regis Salon, at the last minute, without an appointment, did a wonderful job toning down my red tones, giving me a super cut and sending me out convinced that J C Penney had lost one long-term customer while Regis had gained a grateful and sure-to-be loyal, long-term client. Thank you Regis! Thumbs down J C Penney Salon.
