J & R Music World 3/30/2006

J & R sells many different electronic items. They have many hard to find items as well, and are in a good location to get to using any public transportation. Furthermore they have a website (that I'll probably review another day because it is an entirely different entity) on which you can buy many of their items. Their prices are really not too bad. The only thing to be careful of is their return policy. It really is lousy. You might get stuck for a lot of money - and the best they will do is give you a store credit. Watch out for this. more

I entered this store looking for some hard cd's. I mean I looked EVERYWHERE for these cd's, and couldn't find them anywhere. I wasn't too confident in this store even though people say it's amazing. Believe me I went to so many stores, so you can feel my pain. I went up to a friendly customer service rep and they showed me to each cd I was looking for. Just for that they get 5 big stars. more

They will screw you!!!!! 12/1/2005

I bought a camcorder at J and R, having shopped there frequently under the assumption that, unlike on the internet, they would take back defective products. The camcorder was terrible, so the next day I tried to return it. NO ONE, from the top to the bottom would help me. They all insisted it was just a bad quality camera, and that I should have done more research. So their warranties are lies--they will NOT accept returns on merchandise. You risk a lot of money shopping there. Best Buy, Circuit City, anyplace but J and R in the future. more
