I asked for gyro meat on my pizza. Gyro meat was not a topping listed, but you can see the gyro meat spinning, and it is a Greek restaurant. The waitress told me that this cannot be done. She told me that I could order a gyro and put it on the pizza myself. The waitress said that people are always asking for a gyro pizza and they just don?t do it. I told her to ask the chef anyway. The chef came out of the kitchen and told me that this cannot be done because it takes too much time, and they have not done this for 40 years and they can?t start now. I found that interesting because it is an open kitchen and the cooks were all through my wait and dinner were slicing gyro meat. Also, in the time he took to come out of the kitchen it could have been done, or you slice some gyro meat ahead of time put it in a bowl as pizza topping when requested?how hard can it be? Well anyway this was my first J&G experience and other comments would be that the sauce was almost nonexistent and bland, cheese was excellent, the thin crust seemed to be a tad bit undercooked, no water to the table, waitress was hurried, not friendly, and overworked ( they did have help wanted signs though ) . They probably will not change their ways as the place was packed. Had a negative dining experience and probably will not return.
