They had never heard of raspberry iced tea; in fact, had no iced tea at all. I didn't want rice; asked what I could have in place of rice. cottage cheese (NO), baked potato (NO); waiter was smirking by this time. I felt like I was in a foreign country. No dairy products? No salads? How do they stay alive? Instead, he brought me veggies which I would've gotten anyway so I'm thinking we'll probably never go back there. Most of us like a balanced diet, right? Pros: huge tables with handy turntable thing in the center Cons: no tea, no salads, no dairy products. what gives?? more

It is always nice to eat at the Ivory. The food is good. They have a huge menu with a lot of choices. The service was great, and the food always comes out hot! This place is cheap, and if you look in the paper you can find coupons. I always enjoy a meal at the Ivory. Pros: fast friendly service and good food! more

Went for lunch with Wife and 3 year old daughter 7/15/2007

I would definitely recommend this place. We were impressed. The staff was very friendly as well as attentive to our needs. Pros: Taste, Price, Service, Kid friendly, Family oriented Cons: None to speak of. more

The Best of the Best 7/18/2006

I have tried Chinese food from hundreds places in Florida and many States in this country. Ivory Bistro is the most outstanding Chinese restaurant among all. I sometimes ask for the Chinese menu to try the authentic authentic dishes like the ones served in China. Pipa tofu (soft tofu mixed with seafood and topped with brown sauce) is my favorite. Shrimp and Scallop in ginger sauce is also recommended. Though some dishes may be too exotic for my family and me but it is fun to read that menu. Pros: Authentic dishes (Chinese menu) Fancy & creative dishes (regular menu) Cons: Too many menu choices more

Best Chinese Food in Tampa Bay! 7/15/2006

This is the best Chinese food anywhere, not only in the Tampa Bay area. Service is fantastic! The only thing that could make the experience more enjoyable would be if they served brown rice as a substitute for the regular white rice. Pros: Most everything! Cons: No option to chose brown rice. more

Ivory's is the best Chinese restaurant's in the Tampa Bay area. After moving to Florida from New York five years ago, we have tried to find authentic ""New York Style"" Chinese cuisine. There have been many disappointments, but Ivory's never disappoints! They have the old Chinese favorites plus many wonderful specialities. Try the Red Snapper in their special sauce -it is outstanding! The vegetables, seafood, meat, are always fresh and of the highest quality. The owners and staff are always willing to please and make you feel right at home. Pros: DELICIOUS FOOD, GREAT PORTIONS more

The term ""Bistro"" probably doesn't cross your mind when entering this lovely place but... You will be pleased by the enormous attention to customer happiness and the friendliness you encounter throughout your experience here. The decor is light but tasteful, with many touches of ""Chinese flavor"" from the large fish tank with very exotic creatures to the background music. By no means is it overly done nor is it so fancy, you feel like you are underdressed. If you closed your eyes, you might just think you are someplace very far to the east. Fantabulous! 2/15/2006

""I don't know"" is the most fantastic specialty I love. It is like a Chicken with Chinese peanut sauce. The other one I always order is ""Macademia Seafood."" I believe this unique dish is only served at this place. One of my friends said Roast Duck at Ivory is the most flavorful. I have never tried it because I don't eat duck. Next time, I may try a piece and tell you how it is. You did a fantabulous job. Pros: Different, more different, The most different Cons: need more servers more

The greatest of Tampa Bay! 1/16/2006

I used to come to this place when it was Macro Polo restaurant. After it was changed to buffets, I stopped coming. I had looked around for the good Chinese place for 10 years but I couldn't find it. Until I heard from my close friend that this place was changed again to Ivory Mandarin Bistro which is clean, friendly, and delicious. I tried it last year and I love it. Ivory is now the top list of my Chinese restaurant. I have recommended it for everyone; especially anyone coming with wheel chair. The service persons are very helpful and attentive. Pros: Access for disability, Quality & Clean, Big smile Cons: Too crowd, Too many menu items, Too huge portion more

My most favorite Chinese Restaurant 1/14/2006

IVORY MANDARIN BISTRO is deserved to be one of the Best Chinese restaurant. I like the Authentic Chinese Menu providing Steamed Fish, Pipa tofu, Clam Black Bean Sauce, and Dungenese Crab. It is prompt smiling service with very friendly people. It is really clean and peaceful, especially music is so relaxing. Well, the price is unbeatable. I will reccommend all of my freinds. A group of us went to check out Ivory, and we did ask for both menus. While waiting for our meal of about 11 dishes we made the observation of how it looked so old and outdated for only being 2 years old. Finally our food arrived and the feast was on, by the end we had mixed reviews being mostly okay, a bit salty, and heavy use msg, We did enoy the chinese brocoli and tofu. Pros: moderate prices, friendly Cons: okay food, outdated decor more

There is a special Chinese menu 5/29/2005

At first, I was not too impressed by the menu. Then I looked over to the large table of Chinese patrons and realized they have 'the other menu'. It is a common thing in more authenic Chinese restaurant that they have a menu for regular Americans, and another for Chinese patrons. This special menu contains authentic Chinese dishes, and the ones I picked were very well prepared. Particularly the PeiPa Tofu, a dish that requires a certain level of skill to make, is highly recommended. Don't be fooled by the decor, which is somewhat outdated. Ask for the Chinese menu and ask the server to recommend what's fresh today. Pros: Authentic food, Friendly service, Great value Cons: Outdated decor more
