I have had numerous massages here and all have been fantastic. I especially love that they add a foot scrub to start off each treatment. This just gets you relaxed and you have a moment to talk to your massage therapist while you sip tea. It feels like a spa, the steam shower is wonderful and they do true couples massages in the same room, with your own 'couple space' for steam and showering. Great place! more

I also waited to use my gift certificate. I kept waiting for that special day to make it all a complete package. well those ladies sure did make me feelpampered. They were professional and friendly. I do wish however that the big steam bathroom was private, I sorta wished I had the whole thing to myself to enjoy my privacy. more

Finally got around to using a gift certificate for a massage and I'm not sure why I waited so long!! The whole experience from start to finish was fabulous - foot scrub and Swedish massage with Hayley, who was quite charming, welcoming, and chatty, but not too...and obviously very experienced. Private steam room afterward combined with huge tile and rock shower. It was heaven!! Left feeling very relaxed and totally refreshed! Can't wait to go back! more

This spa is very relaxing and the staff is always friendly. Laura was very sweet and very experienced. She really paid attention about my extremely ticklish feet, so no face shots there!!! I am a guy that has never had a foot scrub and that was just one of the highlights for me. I was extremely impressed with the facility. Very nice, clean, relaxing, and all the staff was super friendly. Deffinately worth the drive if you are not from Anacortes. more

This spa is the best! The people are friendly and the ambiance is unbeatable! It is absolutely beautiful with tile and stonework throughout, a steam shower and a deep tissue massage that is truly DEEP (thanks Jessica). The massage begins with a foot bath and a warm cup of tea and ends with a steam shower. It is very private yet warm and personal. Give it a try....you will not be disappointed. more

This is an awesome spa experience!! The people are very friendly and the services are awesome!!! If you want to enjoy a very nice spa experience you have to go the Island Medical Spa. Both offices are beautiful and relaxing. Jessica is fabulous for massages and body treatments. I just had the Detoxifying Seaweed wrap and it was amazing. It’s like getting a body wrap and a massage in one package. You get an awesome head massage and wash, which leaves your hair feeling sooo soft for days. You get a massage getting the seaweed applied to your body and you get a massage when they take it off. Also you get this warm, massaging spray of water to wash everything off. Finally you get another quick massage to apply a lotion on to keep you skin feeling soft. I got my Detoxifying Seaweed wrap last Thursday and my skin is still smooth and soft. It has even cleared up my bumps off my upper arms. I have small red bumps on both of my upper arms and never go away, even though, I scrub and scrub. After the wrap, the bumps disappeared and they are still gone. My skin feels amazing and I felt like butter after the wrap was done. Jessica did an awesome job!! Thank you!!! This is a beautiful spa with a professional but very elegant environment. If you're like me and have tried massage therapy in lots of locations......your physical therapist, your hairdresser, doctor's office, etc.......I encourage you to try Island Medical Spa. Their massage therapy is top notch and a real treat. It begins with a salt foot scrub and ends with a hot steam bath.. Jessica has been my therapist for over a year now and she's fabulous. I have had several body treatments, which I love, but will continue to see her monthly for the health benefits and sheer relaxation her 60 minute Swedish provides. Give it a try. I can't say enough about Island Medical Spa! My friend and I went to an open house a year ago, thinking we would tour and have some appetizers. We were blown away by the gorgeous spa, and all the staff were so friendly showing all of the products and talking about services. My friend and I are in our early 50's and we thought we should try a few services to see if it would make a difference in our complexion. We were both so pleased with the results, we are sold on Island Medical Spa. I decided to get the Fractional Ablative Laser as my daughter is getting married in the Spring and I wanted to have a younger, fresher appearance. I met with Doctor Johnson and he was amazing. He is very patient, warm, knowledgeable and forthright. I worked with his estheticians on some laser treatments to prepare my skin for the treatment. On the procedure day, I was treated like a queen, with very attentive, kind staff helping me throughout my laser treatment. It's been 2 months, and my skin looks fantastic, and I am told my skin will look even better in the next few months from the treatment. My daughter visited me recently (I didn't tell her I was going to do the treatment) and she said my skin looks fantastic and I look rested and refreshed. I have been to spas all over the world, and have found THE best in skin care right in my own back yard. I discovered Island Medical Spa through a friend who has great skin. I asked her what her secret was, and she told me she regularly visits Island Medical Spa! From my first appointment six months ago (I had scheduled a complimentary skin consultation with Emily) I learned so much about my skin and what products and services would give the best results for me. I have followed my custom skin care regimen that has included laser photofacial, chemical peels and microdermabrasion. I am amazed at the difference in my skin and I have told my friends and family about my experience. They even have a complexion analysis machine that has recorded my progress over the past several months, and the difference is amazing. My next visit is scheduled with Kristy for Botox and possibly fillers, as my friend raves about Kristy's skills in taking years off your appearance. I have found my home away from home! I found Island Medical Spa about a year and a half ago and have been satisfied since day one. I currently reside in Scottsdale and on Whidbey Island so it is refreshing to know I can find the same quality of services here as I do down there. I love my injections specialist in Scottsdale, but have actually found myself doing more here with Kristy Anderson, RN because of her great techniques and the patient care I receive. And it hasn't stopped there! I look forward to the wonderful massages by ALL of their Massage Therapists and the fantastic specials thery are always offering. This combined with their knowledgable Aestheticians and fantastic products gives me no reason to go anywhere else. I am a details person and they have hit every one right on the nose: Great Staff, Fantastic Products, Wonderful Treatments, and a Clean Relaxing Atmosphere. I have lived in Anacortes for several years and was very excited of the idea of a destination spa opening in my own home town. Last summer I vistited their open house that introducted the Obagi product line, my skin changed drastically and I love the product. Since starting Obagi I have been very disappointed that they never have products in stock. After spending hundreds of dollars on my regimen it is very upseting to have to wait for the product to come in while I have nothing to use at home. Not only are they continually out of product but their services are nothing to write home about. Thankfully I discovered Dr. Amber Fowler's office in Mt. Vernon is now carrying both Obagi and Jane Iredale and I can count on them to have what I need in stock. As far as service goes I saw Emily Dickman and I was not satisfied with my treatment as I felt her experience level was not up to par and she pushed products in an aggressive manner. I went to the open house on 8/6/08 to find out if "Island Medical Spa" was just another in and out massage facility or did we have a hidden away treasure. I took my husbond with me to tour the facility in case I needed a quick get away, but instead we were both impressed by the courteous & informant staff and how clean the spa is. Today I had the privilege to attend the spa as the winner of the lucky raffle from the open house. As I got to the spa, Marianne greeted me with an iced exlixer (which is very refreshing) the atmosphere and facility was very impressive,clean, and comfortable it makes you start to relax just by walking in the door and sititng in the comfortable chairs in the lobby(but that is just the start, it gets better)I was greeted by Jessica who took me back to the changing room where they had locked lockers for my personal items and a very nice soft white robe & slippers. I was then shown the steam shower (everyone needs to at least experience this!) the steam and the water flow mixed with the rosemary mint soap was outstanding! When done I then sat in front of the waterfall on a plush couch sipping peach tea elixer while Jessica gave me a foot soak,scrub,and lotion treatment (my feet have never felt softer,love the lotion) after I was done with this portion of pampering I was taken into the massage room,they are very private and carry a nice peaceful tranquil atmosphere (you don't hear any outside noise coming through the walls) Jessica then provided me with the most absolutely wonderful swedish massage that I have ever had ,she was very professional, and knew exactly all of the spots to release the tension in my body. I have been to day spas that could not complete in 4hourswhat Island Medical Spa completed in 1 1/2 hr. The caring,pampering & professional staff members of this wonderful facility have created an environment and experience that every person should try . Don't let "medical" deceive you. Spa experience through and through. Once you walk in, you will start to relax your mind, body and soul. I've had many massages and tried a facial. Both services were wonderful! Try their delicious citrus tea. Foot soak and steam room are all included in this refreshing experience. You will not be disappointed! This spa was reccomended by friends. I went in for my free consultation thinking it would be a very basic appointment. I was so wrong! F spent an hour and a half with me. We discussed my skin and different treatment plans that would work for me. She gave me a ton of samples to try and called me to check in and see how things were working. I went in for a facial/peel a week later and my skin already looks 10x healthier! At my facial appointment F took the time to go over my skin care regimin with me and tweak it. She gave me more samples and invited me to come to an open house explaining different spa treatments. She also called me two days after my 2nd appointment to check on the progress of the facial and see if I had any questions. In addition to my esthitician being so fabulous, the spa itself is gorgeous. I am very particular about cleanliness and style; I was very impressed by this spa. It makes you feel like you have stepped into a spa in New York or Seattle. The design asthetic is very shiek and calming at the same time. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and offered water, tea etcetera. All of the employees were very put together and professional looking. No one was snobby or aloof. F walked out and greeted me very quickly and showed me around the facility. All of the rooms very very private and well equipped. The bathroom was very clean and had all of the ammenities to freshen up after any spa treatment. F explained eveything she was doing during the treatment and answered all of my questions thoroghly. When the treatment was over she personally walked me out and saw me to the door. I have my next appointment in a week and I am so excited to have found a spa where the customer is number one and the treatment is top of the line. Side note: I am new to this spa but several friends of mine also attend it regularly. I have been told time and again that the massages and body treatments are fab too! Immediately you are felt welcomed and treated as a special guest in a serene and quiet atmosphere by the professional and respectful staff. Your experience will be a new adventure into being "truely self absorbed," beginning with a foot soak in the waterfuall room, while sipping on sweet tea. My personal favorite treatments are the Deep Tissue Massage, and the Hot Stone Massage with Jessica, followed by a steam shower. I was lucky to take a morning to be with my mom and enjoy the beautiful facilities and quality 90 minute deep tissue massage offered by the staff at Island Medical Spa. From the beginning I felt as though I were being treated like a princess. The morning began with our choice of a delicious hot or cold fruit and tea elixir which we enjoyed while we were waiting to enter the spa. Inside, we were given our own personal lockers and then lead to enjoy a relaxing food scrub while lounging in plush spa robes. From the beginning my massage therapist Jessica was attentive and kind, making me feel comfortable immediately. The massage experience was an excellent choice towards maintaining and learning about my health. The massage was followed by a lovely shower in a clean, luxurious stream room. This aspect was especially nice, as it helped to further relax and release tension in the muscles as well as cleanse my skin. The steam room was such a pleasure, I felt vibrant all day! Overall my experience at Island Medical Spa was outstanding. The staff was highly professional and very friendly, you will find no excuse to be nervous or tense for a second! The facilities are gorgeous with materials of the highest taste and quality. I am not given to pampering myself on a regular basis, but when I do, Island Medical Spa is where I go. I have visited many times for massage, facial treatments and skin consultations. My favorite part (other than the treatments!) is the sanctuary room, which is extraordinary in both its simplicity and soothing athmosphere. The treatment rooms are gorgeous and comfortable, and the best massage I have ever received was at the hands of a therapist at the Spa. The quality of the skin care products and the knowlege of the staff make it easy for me to keep with a skin care regimin that works wonders on my sensitve skin. I have had a lot of massages and this one was very relaxing. The foot scrub at the beginning was a nice touch but what really made a difference was the fact that Cari, the massage therapist, did not rush through everything and she massaged out all my knots from working on the computer. She worked on my sore muscles, needing out my tight IT band and my strained hip flexors from running/overuse. I really appreciated the fact that she did not rush through the massage to get to an hours time. I love the steam bath after the massage before it relaxed me before a long day of socializing with people from work. Pros: Thumbs up more

The spa has a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. I'd highly recommend a swedish massage that comes with an added bonus of a foot scrub and steam shower.
