Island Cove Marina

We have been Boating on Lake St. Clair for over 20 years and have had our boat docked at many of the Marina's, Island Cove is head and shoulders above the rest. From a value perspective I wish we had rented a few more years to purchase our well as the real estate crash has made this facility a bargain. But even having paid more than they sell for today we still feel our purchase was a good one. The marina is located right on the lake and the views are spectacular, the marina is small enough, 150 wells, to offer a fantastic family environment. The marina has first class facilities, from a wonderful club house with pool and sauna to an onsite hoist. The Docks are well maintained, wide and floating. There are monthly social events that are well attended. Pros: Great location friendly people Cons: Marina manager is a problem, lazy and a gossip more

My husband and I have owned a dock at Island Cove Mariana since 1990. We looked at all the marina's up and down Lake St. Clair before we bought into Island Cove's Dockuminium community. Most marina's we looked at compared to Island Cove had docks that were to narrow or high, and seemed to commercial to us. We did look at another marina down the street from Island Cove. It also had 4 foot wide floating docks, but made of metal instead of wood. Island Cove had a better view of the lake from their docks and was not so big and impersonal. Island Cove is just over 150 slips. Island Cove is also very family and pet friendly, with a clean relaxed atmosphere. It includes amenities like a club house with sauna, showers, in ground heated swimming pool, coin operated washer and dryer, restrooms, banquet room, exercise room and wrap around balcony. There is a hoist on premises for launching and haul out, picnic tables and gas grills for all to use. I could go on and on, but seeing is believing. Come on over and check it out. There are still wells for sale or rent, just ask at the office. Pros: Friendly, Good Location, Safe, Well maintained, Fair disability accessability. Cons: Could use a little more attention to full clubhouse access for disabled. more
