Beautiful & Educational 8/5/2005

This place has 2 buildings made to look like an Irish stone cottage & a Stone Hall with stain glass windows. It is run by knowledgeable volunteers. There is a museum, a gift shop, a dance hall and lots of events that are open to the public. Parking is easy. Admission is a $2 donation. I learned a lot about Ireland and it's people. more

A valuable community resource 8/2/2005

The Irish Cultural Center serves as many things... a banquet and wedding facility, academy for traditional Irish music and language, museum and meeting place for the Phoenix Irish community. Their Academy offers lessons in fiddle, harp, tin whistle, flute, bodhran and other traditional instrudments as well as language lessons in Irish, Scots and Welsh. The center is housed in an impressive facility modeled after an actual great hall and cottage in Ireland. They have a gift shop with Irish gifts, music and instruments for sale, as well as frequent events that keep the wonderful traditions of Ireland alive. more
