Great restaurant to eat at before or after movie at Harkins 101. Good service, helpful wait staff, and outstanding food. The menu was unique and all food items ordered were excellent. Highly recommend. more

Authentic and delicious Japanese Food 5/20/2007

If you're looking for a place that offers delicious and creative Japanese food, check out Ippei. Of all the Japanese restaurants in the NE Valley, Ippei offers the most authentic which is very refreshing. The atmosphere is casual enough for a quick dinner after a movie and romantic enough for a cozy evening out. Make sure you try the salmon kushiyaki, it's the best in town! Pros: Great food, cozy atmosphere, good service Cons: Prices are a little high more

Exceptional Japenese Cuisine 3/6/2007

I highly recommend Ippei. I have dined numerous times both for business lunches to personal dining and everyone in our dining party have only positive things to say about their experience. From their excellent customer service, their most incredible tasting menu to the management team really wanting to know your thoughts and opinions of their establishment. They are very gracious hosts. And I am in LOVE with the spicy salmon rolls and unagi. Thank you everyone! Pros: awesome service, excellent food, great ambience! Cons: No hibachi items during the lunch hour... so far. more

Best Japanese, great service 2/15/2007

Ipeei is a great place to go for Sushi and authentic Japanese food. What amazed me most was the atomosphere is so cool and hip, yet the service is so friendly. Also the food is sooooooooo yummy, especially "Ton-katsu". Both I, a Japanese person, and my husband, an American, enjoyed it so much. We went with my small kids and I was not sure how the boys behave. But the staff was very kind and I was able to enjoy the great food! For family with small kids, I recommend to make reservation for a booth seat. Great spot for a date too. Pros: Ambience, great food Cons: not in OC ( please open one!) more

Best Japanese place in Scottsdale!! 2/13/2007

It was hard to find the place, however the food was amazing! Sushi was so fresh and tasty. I tried several Kushi for the first time ( Salmon, Ribeye steak, and Bacon Asparagas) and those were so good as well. It wasn't expensive, so I would go back soon. Pros: Food, Ambience, Service, Price more

A memorable dinner! The Shiro's Wrap (delectable) and the Black Cod (luscious) are excellent. You must try the Cucumber Mint Shochu a mouthwatering change from the usual. I love Ippei. Please come to Boston, we need an Ippei here! Pros: Food, staff, atmosphere Cons: Not in Boston more

Best Japanese dining around 10/22/2006

We loved this new restaurant. The kushiyaki and sushi were out of this world, the atmosphere was upscale, modern and inviting, and the service was impeccable. We got great advice from our server on how to "eat our way through the menu" by sampling lots of their different dishes. Ippei will be a frequent destination from now on. Best authentic Japanese food 10/19/2006

We loved the contemporary atmosphere. Next time we'll go with a big group. Katsu was the best we've ever had. And the sushi was topnotch. Pros: Contemporary interior was a pleasant surprise Cons: They aren't open for lunch yet more
