A great place to get away from, oh, New York, for instance. Indulge yourself in a suite if possible, (which are not outrageously priced at $500+) -- ESPECIALLY if you have kids! ...

Harbor Court GARAGE 8/16/2011

WHAT A RIP OFF!!! False Advertisement!!!! We went to the Inner Harbor and was looking for somewhere to park, there was a big banner hanging on Harbor Court Garage that read $10.00 Evening Parking M-F. Their website indicates that evening hours start after 4:00pm, it also shows 3 hours as being $16.00. We entered at 5:00pm and left at 8:00pm, anyway when we left it cost us $20.00. There was NO Special Event taking place. They're smart you have to pay a machine so there is NO ONE to question or approach. They suck you in with their BIG BANNER. DON'T PARK HERE!!!!!!! more

Great location 2/1/2011

I stayed here while in Baltimore for business. It is conveniently located near the Inner Harbor. I had a car but was able to walk to some of the places I needed to go. I ended up with a view of the Inner Harbor, which was nicely lit up at night. The rooms were very comfortable...and the staff was helpful and friendly. more

WORST HOTEL WE'VE EVER BEEN TO 6/6/2009

I don't give one star to anything very often. Heck, this is the only review that I'm going to spend my valuable time writing about anything in Baltimore. But I want to be clear: NEVER GIVE THIS HORRIBLE BUSINESS YOUR MONEY. ESPECIALLY NEVER SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM. My partner and I wanted to throw a swanky surprise party in the Inner Harbor, for my partner's mother's 60th birthday. We had excellent experiences meeting with staff and signing contracts (the terms of which they changed and we didn't catch it upon signing!). Then everything went downhill. When we showed up, the event room wasn't ready at the time we'd asked for it to be ready. Further, we couldn't discuss the catering, nor find any of the higher-ups with whom we'd struck agreements. Thus we had to try to coerce the work-a-day members of the staff to help us. We barely were able to start the surprise party successfully. The food was okay, if wildly overpriced. Ditto the bar. Then, the Intercontinental charged us over a $1000 more than we'd agreed upon for the bar!! Talking with them about this was completely insane. We never, in fact, were able to speak to the event coordinator or other people we'd spoken to prior to the event, and instead had to subject an unrelated day manager to our grievances. He dealt with us in a thoroughly bureaucratic manner--pleasant up front, but then dishonest. After telling us he would not charge us until we'd seen a bill (they had a problem furnishing an itemized bill right away, although they could tell us the lump total, surprisingly), and meeting with us so that we could review it together, he charged our accounts anyway, further to our surprise/dismay. The hotel also attempted to charge us for rooms our party didn't rent, and the staff was mostly exceptionally rude and not fit to operate an elite hotel. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE, and certainly DON'T EVER TRY TO PLAN AN EVENT HERE. Intercontinental Harbor Court Hotel will forever, in our minds, be synonymous with near-disaster and rip-off. To be frank, we've had better service at the Motel 6. Pros: location Cons: abysmal service, exorbitant prices, rampant dishonesty more

Not Worth It 10/15/2006

Paying $200-250/ night at this hotel does not get you a morning newspaper, continental breakfast, ready made coffee, or parking. 2 people checked in to ta room = 1 bath robe and 1 set of towels. The premise was clean, well decorated, and staff were friendly. Rate charged and service provided is not a good value. Reservation was lost and my bill had someone else's name and address listed. The error was not corrected when the desk was notified upon check in. Do not tell the hotel, upon check-in, that you are parking a car in the garage associated with the facility. The hotel charges guests $21 a day to park. The garage will charge you $17 a day to park. I am not likely to return to the InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore. I would not recommend it to friends. Pros: Location Cons: Service to value is poor more

One of the Best 9/19/2004

A great place to get away from, oh, New York, for instance. Indulge yourself in a suite if possible, (which are not outrageously priced at $500+) -- ESPECIALLY if you have kids! The food and service are worth raving about, and the Inner Harbor location is just icing on the cake. If you're on a budget, check out the package room rates. My only nit about this hotel is the high daily parking fees it tacks on if you drive there. Pros: great rooms, great food, great service more

Bad Service. 6/22/2004

Booked a night for valentines day & when I arrived I found out that a big convention decided to stay 1 more night and the hotel tried to put us next door at an inferior facility. They offered us a free room another night, bit not the same size or view. So just because you book a room at this place does not mean your going to get it. We have stayed here on several occasions prior, but they have lost our business forever. Pros: Excellent rooms, Excellent views more

  • OUR HISTORY
Immediately following WWII, Pan American World Airways had a vision of mass civilian international business and leisure air travel and so began trailblazing its way across the skies of the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Thus came the birth of the world's first international hotel brand - InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.

The goal was to assist local developers in the design, construction and management/operations of individual hotels in important international gateway destinations and traffic centres. The first truly international hotel brand in the world, each hotel was designed to provide an experience uniquely and distinctly its own. The InterContinental brand became the symbol of glamour, sophistication and success that years later, continue to define international travel and commerce.

From our early days, we've been the hotel brand of choice for foreign dignitaries, heads-of-state, royalty, rock-stars, celebrities and those seeking a unique experience. We count many names among our past and current guest list, including George V and Queen Mary, Prince Rainier and Princess Grace, Ava Gardner, Josephine Baker, Nat King Cole, Imelda Marcos, Margaret Thatcher, Louis Armstrong, President and Mrs. Reagan, President Chirac and Prince William... to name just a few.

Editorial
  • The Scene
This luxury hotel was designed in the style of an English manor house, and its estate-style adornment includes beautiful oak paneling and marble floors. It opened in 1986 on the Inner Harbor, and with just under 200 guest rooms and suites, it is intimate enough to feel more like an inn than a mega-property. It is popular with locals who hold their bridal teas, weddings and anniversary parties here.

    The Details
Accommodations are furnished with lots of extras, such as terrycloth bathrobes and TVs in the bathrooms. Specialty suites boast six-foot soaking tubs, views of the harbor and attention to detail--just check out the pants pressers and towel warmers. Relax in the Explorer's Lounge; dine in the on-site restaurant, Hampton's. The rooftop health club features an indoor pool, racquetball court and tanning salon. There is also an Executive Business Center, featuring plenty of meeting space.
