My career as a business executive in a major international company and as an educator has given me the opportunity to travel and live abroad for many years. I have been a client in beauty salons in San Francisco, France, China, and the Middle East. In the US, I have, when possible, visited various beauty colleges. The Institute of Beauty Culture gets my vote as the best beauty college and even rates highly when compared to high-priced salons throughout the world.
As a client, I have always been treated with courtesy whether on the phone or in person. Last year on an overseas trip I visited two different beauty salons. In each place my haircut received rave reviews. The cosmetologists were surprised when I told them that my haircut was done by a student back home in California. They both told me that the work was truly professional.
As an educator myself, I am impressed by the high quality of instruction and the positive interaction between staff and students. I have observed firsthand student cosmetologists working confidently. I have enjoyed discussions with the owner about the future opportunities available to graduates. I am delighted to see the owner's daughter, who was once a student there herself, gradually take on more responsibility as a well qualified instructor and manager. Over the past four years I have followed several students during their time at the school and even after they graduate. It seems to me that a career in cosmetology would be a good path for many young people today, and I would encourage them and their parents to consider the Institute of Beauty Culture.
