I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Renan and his staff. He did my fertility treatments and I was originally planning on switching to a different doctor for my prenatal care (it would have been cheaper due to my insurance) but by the time I was pregnant I wouldn't even think about changing. He came in on the weekend to do fertility treatments for me because that's when they had to be done. He gave me his cell phone number so I could call him personally if I had any questions or problems. He obviously cares very much about his patients as does his staff who has always worked hard to fit me in when I needed a last minute appointment. During my pregnancy he never made me feel like my questions were stupid (as other doctors have done) and he was always careful to fully explain all my options regarding every test/procedure and let me be the one to decide. OBs have a bad reputation for pushing pregnant women in to unnecessary c-sections and other medical interventions but that was not my experience with Dr. Renan at all. I had the labor & delivery experience that I wanted and many of the nurses at St. Joseph's told me he has a reputation for delivery babies without cutting the mother (meaning he has a low c-section and episiotomy rate). It's always good to hear from the labor & delivery nurses, who know the inside scoop, that your doctor has a good reputation. As long as I'm having babies I'll do everything in my power insurance-wise to be sure he's the one to handle my prenatal care and delivery my babies. I've referred friends to him and they've also had great experiences. more

BEST OB-GYN DOCTOR! I have had Dr. Renan as my regular delivery doctor during 2008, yet after having my baby the insurance which I had """"HMO"""" was not excepted here no longer. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! With fantastic delivery I had, which resulted with no pain, no problems, speedy delivery. I was very happy. Over the 25+ years of experience he has... I do recall he is a professional and highly experienced at what he does during pregnecy check-ups, delivery, and after delivery check-ups. Yes, the office wait takes a really long time (usually 2-4 hours), yet I'm not reviewing his slow staff or really bad customer service at the front desk, but Dr. Renan himself. As far as having one baby... being very scared the first time, he made it very easy and comfortable for me. He is hands down #1! more

He found my PCOS - no one else did. I also like his no nonsense personality. He's a pro. I wouldn't want to work for him... but I like his personality and feel he really cares. He's French (I think) and may be misunderstood by some... but I have to say I get a protective caring feeling from him. After I get pregnant and have a baby I will update. I don't have the right to give 5 stars yet since I haven't. I like him though :D more

He's an AMAZING doctor! He delivered my 2nd son back in 2000! Too bad I have crappy insurance now and he doesn't accepts it. I don't blame him but damn I wish I could still go to that office. maybe someday :( he's very caring and his staff is great! more

I think Dr. Renan and his staff are excellent. What he wears to work is of no concern to me. He has gone above and beyond the call of duty for me in my fertility treatments and prenatal care and delivered my baby without causing tearing nor doing an episiotomy. He always took as much time with me as I needed and his staff has always been very kind and conscientious. I've never had a problem with them not calling me back. It's true that sometimes he's not there but that's because he delivers babies for a living and babies don't wait. He has a solo practice so there isn't another doctor there to fill in for him when he's across the street at St. Joe's delivering a baby. I'm surprised to read such negative reviews of him because my experience with him has always been so positive. more

Dr. Renan and his staff are excellent. He always takes the time to answer my questions and never rushes me out the door. I went to him for fertility treatments, prenatal care and he delivered my baby. The nurses in the hospital told me had a great reputation there which did not surprise me. By the time my baby was born I'd been going to him for almost a year (and I saw him often due to the fertility treatments and then prenatal care) so I already trusted him & his staff. He usually saw me within 10-15 minutes of my appointment time but once I had to wait an hour and a half. That was because he was at the hospital doing a c-section, which is understandable and the staff gave me the option of rescheduling. His entire staff is very friendly and helpful. They always go out of their way to answer my questions, make sure I feel comfortable, and to accommodate my schedule. I'm sorry to see negative reviews of him here because my experience has been the exact opposite. more

Dr. Renan is amazing! I've not experienced ANY of what the other people on here have experienced. His bed side manner has always been warm, honest and positive. I left another OB and found him and when I would complain or get down about the bad experience I had with her, he would encourage me to stay positive and remind me that it was in the past and to focus on the future and what we can do to get me healthy now. He's been my doctor for 8 years and I adore him. He takes all the time that is needed for every appointment that I've had and I've never felt rushed. When I've had to have him paged after hours or on the weekends, he has called me back within 20 minutes at all hours! One night it was 9pm and I could hear his kids/family in the background. He doesn't stop being a doctor because he left the office or hospital. I had to have a partial hysterectomy when I was 33. I thank Dr. Renan for saving my life and giving it back to me because I've never felt better! His staff and nurse assistants are very sweet and when I see them at the hospital, they always remember my face and my name. Dr. Renan is THE best. BTW - who cares what the guy is wearing. I see more doctors wearing jeans these days so it's not exactly uncommon. And if he shows up for a delivery in his golf clothes, it's because he dropped what he was doing during his free time to rush to YOU. Yup, that sounds about right. more

Last week I was in severe pain from a ruptured cyst. Urgent care, which is down stirs from Sr. Renan's office told to that I needed to go to the ER because the pain meds they gave me did not work. I, instead, went upstairs to Dr. Renan's office and they took me in right away. Dr. Renan came in the room to see me within less than 5 minutes and the girls that worked in the office were extremely comforting. Bringing me blankets, staying with me etc. Dr. Renan saw me, immediately called the ER and made sure that I was taken in right away. He ordered all the tests needed, pain meds. etc. I waited less than 10 minutes to go in. The ER doctors were on top of what Dr. Renan had told them. So were the nurses. His office girls were incredible. He will always be my doctor. His actions that day proved to me that he does care for his patients. more

I have visited Dr. Renan's office several times the past few months and have always had a pleasant experience. Paula and Kianna (sp?) are so kind and patient, taking the time to answer my questions and ease my concerns. Dr. Renan's wonderful care and office staff helped me through a recent miscarriage and made the difficult process much easier. more

When it was time for me to deliver my son, Dr. Renan had to go out of town for business. His associate ended up delivering my son. Dr. Renan called the hospital from the airport to see how I was doing with contractions, delivery etc..I don't know any doctor that would do such a thing. He really cares about his patients. I've recommended Dr. Renan to several of my friends and they all love him. When I'd changed my insurances, I'd always make sure that Dr. Renan would accept it, if not, I wouldn't get that insurance. I wouldn't have any other gynecologist, but Dr. Renan. He's my favorite doctor!!!! more
