Innovations Dance Studio

I think the teacher is really good at what she does and that is dancing. She a beautiful amazing nice person and she is very patient. If your looking for somewhere ""cheep"" for dancing then this is the place for you. I recomend you start in the begginig classes first and then go to advance.. I warn you you will learn alot in a short amount of period. But that is what dance classes are for. For instance I didnt think I could ballroom dance well 3 times going there well I can do the basics. Ive learned over 10 variation dance moves. I did this so I could dance on the dance floor. The price for the first dance class is free then if you like what you see its eight to nine dollors a class. Now Fred Astere dance studio does the same kind of stuff and there is s39 dollars a class. So really honestly your getting a relly good deal. Need Dance lessons this is the place to go. She has been dancing for 25 years if Im correct in saying. They will supply you with a dance partner if you need one. Small, cheap, and affordiable. Come try it out. This review is for ballet classes. I had my daughter, six at the time, there for ballet. Julie, as I have heard from others besides my own observations, does not have strength in the area of ballet. She does an excellent job in other areas of dance. I have been in ballet when I was younger and also was with the Milwaukee Ballet Co - this was when you took lessons with the ballerina's themselves with choreographer/director himself. That was 35 years ago before they had all of the locations. If I compare my experience and what was expected of me as a student and also observing other ballet classes at other ballet studio, this is definitely a weakness for Julie. If my daughter is interested in going into dance (not ballet) I would sign her up here. But for Ballet I would first go with Burlington Dance Academy, Jessica is more articulate in this area. Innovations has been in town for many years. Julie and Dan run an excellent dance studio. I have been with them since the beginning. My girls grew up with Julie teaching them and working with them. Her technique is excellent and her patience is amazing. She not only teaches dance, but she also teaches the students self respect by showing them they can do anything if they try and practice. Her dance studio may be small but the floor is a profession spring floor, NOT CEMENT as the first review states. The mirrors are marlor to prevent anyone from getting hurt if they bump the mirrors. more

to the first reviewer i find that you must know little of dance to comment like that. she danced for many years at many prestigous schools of dance. never has her floors been CONGRETE, they are even sponges, for lack fo a a better word, under the professional flooring. she does use marli-mirror, but i find that it makes it safer. there is no glass then and no way to smash it. i absolutly love this studio and find no reason not to go here. more

I've only been there a few years, but it's been the best few years ever! Julie is such an excellent teacher, especially since she's the only one, and will welcome anyone. She makes learning dance fun and will work with you if you're not understanding it. I lvoe it there and would never change studios! =] more

this place is amazing! great technique. great attitude towards people. and shes such a great teacher.\r if need help she'll work with you until you get. even if it means having class run 5mins longer. And for there only being one teacher, she does a great job with the shows and choreography. i am never gonna leave this studio! and i would recommend it to any one. more

I've been going to Innovations Dance Studio since I was 2 1/2 and i would never switch over to any other dance studio. Having only 1 teacher makes it hard but she does an EXCELLENT job!! She just redid the studio and i think it looks amazing! I do have to agree that it would be a blessing if we got a bigger studio but having gotten new flooring and painting it made a real difference! I was told that since we lost so many seniors this past summer we would probably be slow on getting new students, but boy were we wrong. There are A LOT more students this year than we ever would've dreamed of! I recommend Innovations to anyone who wants to put their youngster in dance, Julie is wonderful with kids and i wouldn't trust any other teacher but her!!! more

to the first review. i would like to tell you that innovations is a such a great place to be. She will work with anyone, and its the same type of flooring the Milwaukee ballet uses. many people go their. very young students and older ones. her technique is outstanding! and from what Rachael said, it would be a great place to put your 3yr old kid, your teen, or even you, it would be a great place for you to go! she's very welcoming! ive been a member of there since i was 3, and ive enjoyed it the whole time! when you see the little kids coming out, they are smiling. Julie makes learning ballet, jazz, and any other styles enjoyable! more

This is in regard to the first review made about Innovations. First of all, let me tell you that there are lots of students that go to innovations, young and old. There are also a wide variety of dance styles to choose from, and having only 1 main teacher to choreograph each class. The building may need a little updating, but other than this, I would say that this studio is a very good place to start off. They are very welcoming and accepting, and will work with anyone. I would definetly recommend going here to learn dance. more

I took years of dance myself so when I signed up my daughter for classes I was shocked to see such shotty technique! The owner is good as smooshing but not teaching dance. There was some kind of contact paper on the walls instead of mirrors and I think they were dancing on concrete. Won't go back there for any price. more
