On March 23 I used StyleSeat to book with this Salon. The app showed my card was declined, however the charge was clearly made and was immediately reflected on my banking app, which I showed to the shop owner. 1) the charge was for ~$122, which included a 15% promo StyleSeat offered. 2) the shop owner insisted she did not get paid...because of the StyleSeat app. I tried to explain it was an app issue, not my issue and she requested I send an email to StyleSeat, which I did, since they do not have a customer service phone number. 3) The shop owner then complained that not only was I wrong and she hadn't been paid, she had to pay 40% to StyleSeat for even taking me as a client they referred, which I explained was not my problem.
The exchange was completely unprofessional, in front of the entire shop, AND the shop owner continued to demand she be paid. I left, attempted to contact StyleSeat again for resolution, and PAID HER SHOP A SECOND TIME, for $144 to cover the 15% promo from StyleSeat so this complaining, unprofessional owner could get ALL her money. Turns out, StyleSeat confirmed the original payment for $122 HAD BEEN PAID AS I SAID, and the owner would have received the 15% directly from StyleSeat.
I left a review on StyleSeat and because of that, the owner has refused to refund the 2nd charge, and instead states that since I left a bad review, she was not going to assist in returning the overpayment. Six days later, she still has not. Which is ok... I will now have the bank reverse the $144 and she can keep the $122.
It's a shame, because the crochet braids were done beautifully, and I would have brought many referrals, but unfortunately some owners are too busy thinking everyone is out to screw them over, so they risk losing customers.
