Best Indian Restaurant 5/17/2011

This is the best indian restaurant to have home delivery if you are in redondo beach. service over the phone was very helpfull and the service for delivery driver was very nice with smile and uniformed driver with white shirt and neck tie which i think is really fancy. Now the food.::::::) I have eaten at many different indian restaurants where the tikka masala is bland and spiceless but this restaurants delivered tikka masala to my house was better than all dine in places. I have not visited the restaurant but this delivery is going to make me go in next time. mixed tandoori came real fresh and moist and basmati rice it was real nice and fresh. I think this place deserve a five star rating and the best indian food award. i have to finish my food now and will update once i dine in. more

Woo Hoo! The Best Indian Food I've Ever Had! 2/6/2011

Note: Initial review based on first visit on 12/10/10. Update at bottom. Let me sum up at the beginning: This is the best Indian restaurant I've found in the last 30 years of dining out. The food is amazing and and the service is excellent. We left feeling intoxicated with gastronimic goodness. Now for the review: About the food: We started with the assorted appetizers to get a sampling of what was available. By far the one we liked the best was the Onion Bhaji, highly recommended. The Fish and Chicken Pakoras were also very nice. Next time we will order one of the above and/or maybe try a soup. Next out was Chicken Korma which is tender pieces of marinated chicken spiced mildly, cooked with onions, yogurt and cashew nuts. We ordered everything "medium spicy" (we like things spicy but didn't know the starting point for this place) and this was delicious but could we have used a little more spice. We will order this again. For a veggie dish we ordered okra, it is called Bhindi Bhaji, "okra cooked in herbs and spices with onions." This dish was outstanding! We were in heaven. Spiced and cooked to perfection. :-)) We weren't planning on ordering a rice dish but our waiter suggested we try the Rice Pellow aka Saffron Rice "Saffron rice with peas, onion tomato and nuts." I am very glad we took his suggestion, we loved it. I don't much care for rice dishes but this was sublime. Then came a sizzling platter of mixed tandoori including Lamb Boti Kabob (highly recommended), Sheesh Kabob (not so much recommended), Tandoori Chicken (surprisingly only average given that that "Tandoori" is part of the name of this restaurant. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious but most of the other entrees were superlative. The Chicken Tikka was excellent, very tender pieces of breast meat roasted to perfection. Portions were ample on all dishes. The above made big dinners for two and big lunches for two the following day. For bread we had the Garlic Naan and the Onion Kulcha both were delicious but the Onion Kulcha was memorable. Dessert consisted of Kulfi (homemade Pistachio Ice Cream) and an order of the rice pudding to go ( by now we were stuffed). The Kulfi was very different, firm and flavorful, not creamy but loaded with pistachio flavor. The rice pudding is rich and exquisite. The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. The owner came to our table twice, once in the middle of the meal to make sure we liked everything and to deliver the check and chat. Service here can only be categorized as excellent. Overall a wonderful experience and we are definitely going back. Quite a statement since it's a 20 mile drive each way and there are numerous Indian restaurants in between. *** EDIT/UPDATE: 2/6/11: My wife and I have returned 4 times since my initial review. 3 times with friends and 1 time by ourselves. 2 visits were for the lunch buffet and 2 visits were for the dinner menu. All of our friends were genuinely impressed with the wonderful cuisine and eager to go back again. Furthermore, on those occasions where we ordered off of the menu and asked for something special, our waiter was polite and helpful and the chef executed our requests perfectly. The most important reason I feel the need to update my review is that I unfairly judged the Tandoori Chicken (as "only average") based upon just one visit. On each of our return visits I must say the Tandoori Chicken was excellent (tender, juicy, tasty and cooked to perfection) as was everything else. This serves to point out a very important factor when it comes to relying on restaurant reviews: Try to find reviews where the author has made multiple visits. Make sure to try the Onion Bhaji, Chicken Korma, and if you like okra the Bhindi Bhaji. more

My Favorite Indian Restaurant 11/24/2010

I have been to India's Tandoori a few times and it always gave me the flavors i ate groving up in India. I live in Torrance and work in El Segundo and this is the best Lunch spot for Indian craving. Best way to try is the Lunch Buffet where you can try number of vegetarian and meat items. food is always fresh and they get you your choice of Naan Garlic or Plain. Buffet is all you can eat where you get to try Salads, Appetizers, lots of curry items, Fruits and Deserts. Restaurant is really nice Decorated and Service is Excellent. Plus point is they offer free delivery. more

Best Indian in the Southbay 11/17/2010

Thanks to my cousin Jason who recommended India's Tandoori for a date. Cindy who never had indian food but she wanted to try something good and not bland like American food. so i called Jason my cousin for any good place he might know and he said Indian food will make your date very happy. ok we'll try it. We both walked into the restaurant for dinner about 7pm and we were welcomed with big smile and got us a table towards the back by the tv playing indian music videos. They gave us the papadom the crispy crackers and three kind of sauce to dip. we asked the waiter if you had to bring someone over for dinner what would you order? well.... he said appetizer chicken samosa's, Dinner Mixed Tandoori, Lamb korma, alu gobhi, rice and garlic naan. we closed the menu and said lets do that. he first thaught i was playing with him. Chicken samosa's were the best.. Mixed Tandoori was excellent, Lamb korma can't beat this that and garlic naan was amazing very fresh and tasty. Service was too good to be in an indian restaurant. My date was very happy with our dinner night. Thanks for a great dinner india tandoori. more

Best place for Best Indian Curry's. 3/19/2010

I finally took my mom over to this indian restaurant after talking about it for a while. i took friday off to take my mom to lunch for indian food. i never had buffet at this place because i work in culver city during lunch time and never had a chance to try the food here. My mom really loved this place because they had such a great selection for lunch buffet. we both had visited different indian places in the past but this one's standard is prety high for quality of the food and service both excellent. garlic naan and chicken tikka masala both were top. all the vegetable items were really nice fresh and tasty. fresh fruits were really yummy. and mango lassi is real thick the way it should be not watery like some places. excellent. good job. Pros: Best Garlic Naan and Chicken Tika Masala Cons: too far from my work for lunch buffet more

My Style Indian Restaurant 2/2/2010

I've lived in the area for some time and never had a chance to try india's tandoori till i got a mailed in coupon in Valpak. Drove over during dinner hours about 8pm. the place was really nice decorated had candles lighted on the tables dim lights making it very romantic. when i walk into an Indian restaurant and don't smell the burning incense, i don't feel right about the place. They had really sweet kinda smell at this place reminded me watching one of the Indian Kamasutr movie. food was amazing as well, chicken tika was really tender and moist, lamb vindaloo perfect, spinach with potatoes excellent, garlic nan bread very nice loaded with garlic and cilantro and very fresh. Pros: Best Indian after a long time Cons: too tasty more

Excellent Tandoori Indian Restaurant 12/29/2009

I have to admit this place is pretty Authentic. every item we ordered from the menu was excellent. vegetables, chicken and lamb all spiced very nicely and very fresh. we were group of four hungry people and end up ordering saag paneer, lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala and rack of lamb. the food was so good i just wish we had some more lamb chops and chicken tika masala. i will be back and order it double next time. Pros: Best Tandoori Lamb chops. Cons: i didn't get enough more

Dishes made fresh daily 12/19/2009

I eat here whenever I am doing business in the area. Great food, incredible selection, always fresh, great people with a fun atmosphere. For those that have not had experience with Indian Cuisine, I would suggest the lunch buffet. To me, some of these dishes are just like eating candy. I can't get enough. The Nan and Chicken are made in an authentic Tandoori oven. No shortcuts here. If you are in the mood for something different, or love Indian food, please give them a try. By the way, they have a location in L.A. and a brand new location in I believe Torrance. The Proprietor and staff will take great care of you and will be happy to help you with your selections or questions. Be careful at the lunch buffet, it is very easy to stuff yourself with so many dishes. Something I have noticed as I am in this place 3-4 times a month is that I always see quite a few regulars. That says more than anything. Pros: Great selection. Even for my 12 year old Cons: 100 miles from my home more
