university Hospital of Indianapolis was the worst Hospital I have ever been in. The nurses there are incompetent, LAZY, RETARDED, B*****S that lack responsibility and don't respect the patient or themselves. I had to empty my own urine. They need close that hospital down. more

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE 4/28/2012

had emergency abdominal surgery. (SURGEON WAS GREAT ). Was on surgery ward for 8 days. Nurses were rude for the most part, uncaring, place was NOT CLEAN. Overheard conversation between housekeeper and her supervisor about finding needle boxes on the floors and unsanitary practices. Nurses were not knowledgeable about even basic care and routine procedures and the overnight staff was too busy telling dirty stories in the hallway to come check patients, I have been in several hospitals but this was the worst I have ever experienced. NASTY! Avoid this place at all. costs! Wish I could take off the one star and give them several negatives! more

I've had no complaints as a recurrent patient 1/4/2012

I've had to be admitted multiple times in the last few years for either outpatient or overnight stay procedures. Having previously experienced the hectic world of a big city hospital with the same ailment (Northwestern Hospital in Chicago) I have to say the treatment I've had at Indiana University Hospital was much more personal and comforting. We switched hospitals and have had no complaints since we did. Nurses are attentive and knowledgeable and the doctors seem to care about us patients and don't just consider us a meal ticket. more

Morgue Procedures 3/24/2011

On 3/22/2011 a family member passed away. Today is 3/24/2011 and we are still waiting on the death certificate to be signed. We are being told that the funeral could be as late as the end of next week because we are unable to get the paperwork. Procedures need to be reevaluated. It has been devastating thinking that our family member is still in the morgue. All of our family lives out of town and no-one can understand what the hold up is!!!!!!!! I would never have believed that we would have to go through all this after we lost our mother. There is no way to contact a patient/family advocate or the physician who was there and pronounced she had passed. Why would it not have been signed then? He was there!!!!! more
