Very Disturbing! 7/27/2012

I've never met or known a Sharon W., and I don't hide behind a fake name and hide my true identity like she does. However, I know who she really is which explains her necessity to speak under a false identity. Interesting how she advertises gym numbers of 500 girls (nicely inflated) and mentions 'the weak economy'. I know who talks with that lingo, and it's not an average random parent. Someone in particular has been very vocal about despising when parents watch their kids practice. I couldn't possibly sit at the gym for 12 hours a week if I'm carpooling with 5 other people. If this was a real parent, how would they even know or care since they drop & go and aren't involved?! Salt of the Earth... I've only ever heard 2 people utter those unusual words and both are at Indiana Elite. My kids are not stars in the cheerleading world, but they are children who don't deserve to be intentionally mistreated. In reality, I requested one of my kids to be moved DOWN a level. Everyone knows the board is not really elected and is handpicked by Karlette herself. She asked me to serve, and we were close friends for years until we disagreed. Before our disagreement, I offered to leave the board at the end of the last 2 years and even tendered a resignation, but she begged me to stay each time. If I'm guilty of anything, it's for being too nice and not saying 'no' like I should have. If I was such a problem, why would I have been on the board and given sensitive information for so many years?! Their 'thank you' was having one of my children intentionally mistreated, the other child kicked out in revenge, and malicious anger directed toward me because i was brave enough to actually leave a couple reviews about my experience. As a consumer, I'm entitled to truthfully share my personal experience on this type of forum. If they don't like it, then maybe they should not treat people badly... or they could possibly pose as a random parent using a fake name and that would not surprise me at all. Your post speaks volumes about how judgemental and vindictive their environment can be for a children's program. Not about the money? If anyone had the inside information that I have, you'd know it's ALL about the money. And yes, I am very happy my children are away from these people who lashed out specifically to hurt them. Now would you like to engage in more conversation, or drop it so we can all move on with life? more

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/30/2012

My girls cheered with the unhappy mom's girls below and she was ALWAYS AT THE GYM! The rest of us dropped off/picked up our girls, but she watched every minute of practice and tumbling class. Her daughters were on multiple cheer squads plus a dance squad, plus tumbling, so we are talking 10-12 hours a week she was sitting at the gym. Then she got on the executive board and you wondered if she had a real home. She was always crying to anyone who would listen ""what more do I have to do for this gym before the owners move my girls up..."" She was always threatening to go to another gym if her girls didn't get on the right squad in the right role... I know the owners and they are wonderful people. One girl had a parent pass away during the season, and the owners covered the girls cheer costs for the rest of the season so she could still cheer. They are salt of the earth people. Generous. Loving. They personally call each child by name and that's saying something in a gym with more than 500 girls. It's not about the money, it's about what the girls become. It's about teaching the girls that they can't always be the star, and how to get along on a team. I am certain finally telling the unhappy mom to go ahead and go was not an easy choice for the owners. I hope the unhappy mom is finally happy in her new gym. I wonder if she will ever be happy anywhere. I hope so for her family's sake. more

Excellent coaches and program for all levels! 4/27/2012

Incredible gym! We have been lucky to have spent 11 years and had 3 girls grow with Indiana Elite. From 1 floor and 25 girls to 5 floors and over 450 team kids, the success of the program speaks for itself. So thankful for everyone who has been a part of such an unforgettable experience for me and my girls! 5 stars is the least I could give! more

Horrible Treatment 4/15/2012

My children were at Indiana Elite for 7 years, and I was a 4 yr board member up thru late 2011. I paid IE about $60,000 and donated about 4,000 hours of my personal time to help them over those 7 years.... nothing was expected or received in return. In their effort to go hard core in 2011, they treated my older daughter terribly, and when she quit, they kicked out my 10 year fully knowing she would be heartbroken and damaged from the experience. My little one went thru this because I 'knew too much'.... so she became 'expendable'. Bethe & Karlette are too wrapped up in becoming a powerhouse and are not focused on the best interest of your child. They even posted their own positive reviews that trash their competiton (SuzieQ) and posted bad reviews for Speed Athletics to drive their ratings down. They are much too focused on business than they are on children... unless you are deemed a 'favorite'. If you go there, you'll be enticed by the flashy new facility and won over for a little while, but after a while you'll feel different. I do have to say there are some great coaches working there, but my kids have great coaches at their new gym too. more

No other cheer gym comes close! 7/26/2011

Bethe and Karlette run a top notch program. One of the oldest in the country, like another poster here we saw them and the way they treat the girls, the parents and their employees are wonderful. The routines are award winning on the national level, with fresh new choregraphy. The uniforms and makeup ARE age appropriate, but also so are the teams! Your mini age daughter will never be placed upon a senior age team! more

Excellent cheer gym! 2/17/2011

The best cheer gym in the area hands down! We were at another local gym and hated how our daughter was treated. We saw hoe IE placed in local competitions and watched how the coaches interacted with the girls. That made us want to check them out. The girls are taught skills correctly, safely, and kindly! Everyone is treated with respect and the coaches don't need to scream at the girls to make their points. Plus, the uniforms and makeup are age appropriate. If you are looking for a great competitive cheer gym, come here! more
