The side dishes and appetizer was really good. Indian Palace delivered in a timely manner to the hospital we were in. However the lack of meat for our two dishes made us a little disappointed. I ordered lamb vindaloo i had more sauce and potatoes than anything. My husband ordered beef bhuru and we had to go searching for the meat in each dish and the stuffed naan we ordered. Very likely we won't order from here again. Uber sad! more

We ordered three different dishes and they tasted inappropriately similar. Also, the most cardboard-ish naan I've ever tasted. more

Salty and expensive 9/17/2011

Food is salty, VERY SALTY. *** Coupon users BE AWARE!! Make sure to CHECK THE PRICE before starting your buffet. We went there because I bought 2 Goupon deals and thought the deal was a good. Went there for the first time in July for lunch buffet ($10), owner asked us to order drinks if we want to use the coupon. Fine print didn't indicate so. Went there for the 2nd time in Sept because I didn't want to throw away the coupon. Didn't eat much, again, because it's too salty. Felt cheated at check out. $12 for Lunch buffet!!! Owner didn't want to provide printed receipt. We'll never eat there again. NOT RECOMMENDED. more

Worst Austin Indian Food 9/13/2011

0 Stars.... BE WARNED!!! The service is terrible, in that, the 2 men (father and son) that run the place are rude, obnoxious and walk away when you ask any questions. Dirty plates, and water glasses. When I asked for a fresh water glass withOUT any lipstick stains, they refused. Food on the buffet was stale, stale, and STALE. It tasted weird, and it was cold. The naan and bread were hard as rock, the lassi was a concoction of color with yoghurt (no flavor whatsoever). The business practices are unethical. They do not present you with a broken down receipt, just a hand written note with a total. When I asked to see a breakdown, they had overcharged by $12.00. When I brought this to their attention, the elderly man running the place threw a water full of glass on my lap and asked me to pay regardless. I will be contacting the health services (cockroaches on the edge of saag paneer buffet tray) as well as the Better Business Bureau. This place needs to either be run by scrupulous folks, or needs to be shut down. Period. * Note my other 60+ reviews. This is my first 1 star experience, and a pathetic one to say the least. BE WARNED!! more

Feast at Indian Palace's sumptuous buffet 2/21/2011

I love the food here it is very delicious. Being a picky eater I initially had my doubts about this neighborhood place, but man I was really surprised the food is amazing! The price is very fair and the food is out of this world their chicken curry is addicting as well as their lamb meatballs. If you live in the northwest Austin area I would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner, I know I will be going here for a long time, I can't say enough about how good the food is. more

Return again and again to Indian Palace 2/21/2011

I have been going to Indian Palace since 2004 when they first opened and have been a regular ever since. Their food has stayed consistent through all these years and it is the best buffet in Austin. Their naan bread is always fresh and their tomato coconut soup is to die for. The wait staff is very friendly and are always there to make sure I am satisfied with every dish. Recently I have also begun to take my family for lunch on Saturday and Sunday lunches they are conveniently open on the weekends. The ambiance is great and they play very calming instrumentals. Unlike many other Indian buffets Inidan Palace serves papadum in their buffet which is crunchy bread made out of lentils very yummy. Upon entering I always feel like I have stepped into India the decor is full of vibrant Indian cloth and paintings which make me feel like a little on vacation every time I go. more

DO EXPERIENCE A TASTE OF INDIA 2/9/2011

Indian Palace for me is a real treat! I recommend you to experience the variety of foods they offer. Their food has always been fresh and full of amazing flavors. Keep in mind that eastern foods are made with all the colors of the rainbow, so be inviting to new taste buds to be activated. The food at Indian Palace is not greasy or made cheaply, rather very rich and satisfying. Do Give Them A Visit :) more

Austin's Best Indian Food 2/8/2011

I recently visited Indian Palace on Thursday night. The food was delicious, I am currently a college student at the University of Texas and this place is very affordable and convenient for students living in the Far West area. The owners are very nice and made my visit very enjoyable. I loved their Chicken Tikka Masala it was to die for. This place knows Indian food the chicken was soo well cooked the sauce was finger licking good. The lunch buffet is 9.99 which is a very good price for an all you can eat lunch buffet compared to some of the other places out there. Inidan Palace has a huge selection of dishes in their buffet around 20, I did not get to taste many of the dishes but that will be taken care of by my many many visits in the future. The owner at the end of my meal told me that I would get a college student discount on my food and the price was reduced to 8 bucks! These guys know how to treat customers and the service along with the food will keep me coming back over and over to this cool little place on Far West. A definite recommendation for anyone reading, I really cannot understand some of the negative reviews I wonder if they went to the same restaurant I did. This place is pretty legit. more

Worst place to eat 1/5/2011

This is a worst indian restaurant that i have ever gone. And i will not recommend anyone to go there. Me and my friend went there after travelling whole day. Imagine that, you are tired and hungry, in such condition you will like anthing, provided that they are atleast good to eat. We couldn't eat anything that they served in their buffet. Foods were cold and some items were smelling bad. We complained about the food quality, but the staff turned on deaf ear..... And charged us 26 dollars. So my conclusion is: they serve worst food, worst service and expensive. Everything minus... more
