Best

It was amazing!!! By far the best Indian food we have had from houston to california!!

Worst

Not a warm ane fuzzy place to eat...This place is dark as night inside..be sure to pack a little flashlight...

Great find! 11/14/2009

This is a great indian place- it is owned by the nicest family who really take care of you. Last time we went, the owner came out with a full plate of hot naan right out of the oven and it was incredible! The tikki masala, lamb meatballs, and saag paneer are what we keep going back for. Also try the mango pudding! We always leave with full and happy tummies! Pros: Super food, sweet family Cons: atmosphere lacking, but the food makes up for it more

C'mon man! i've had better 3/2/2009

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you like bad service and feel like you are being watched every time you get a new plate (C'mon man!)I printed a coupon for 50%off meals off the internet and tried to use it, but was denied a discount on my meal because I didn't give it to the waiter as soon as I walked in (C'mon man!)....so our meal ended up costing $28.00 for the buffet for 2 people with drinks (C'mon man!) I?ve had better food and friendlier service off a road side vendor. It?s decorated nice and some of the food is o.k, but I would never go back there again, i do recommend the indian star on Anderson Ln.-B- more

great casual neighborhood restaurant 2/11/2008

I got a coupon in the mail (buy one meal get one free), and decided to eat here. It was great! I've been six or seven times now and had the buffet every time because #1 the coupon, and #2 I don't really know enough about Indian food yet to pick things off a menu. The buffet doesn't seem to change. Every time they've got lamb meatballs, chicken, beef, tandoori chicken, saag paneer, naan, rice, lot of veggies, and at least 3 desserts. If you use the coupon, it's a great value considering the quality and quantity of the food. This is a very low-key establishment--the decor isn't upscale and the buffet is pretty low-tech, but that doesn't detract from my meal at all. Pros: good selection, nice employees, quality food, coupon deal Cons: not super classy looking, you have to order a beverage to use the coupon more

DO NOT EAT HERE 10/5/2007

If you liked this restaurant you have never had good indian food. I am from Houston and have lived in NYC so I have had the opportunity to eat at many indian food restaurants and this is by far the WORST indian food place I have ever eaten at! Let's start off with the fact that the sauces they bring you and at other indian places they usual to dip in the sauces. There is a red sauce and a green sauce and they were not authentic at all. The green herb like sauce was NEON green. That is not normal, and it was also extremly watery. My friend ordered a lamb dish, and it was definitley not lamb. We asked them what it was and they said it was a side cut. I don't know if that is code for a bad cut of beef, but it tasted nothing like lamb. I ordered a shrimp curry dish. It was called a tomato onion curry, yet the curry was yellow. So I thought maybe they just have yellow tomatos. But it did not taste like tomatoes and there were no onions in it what so ever. Also it was very bland. Bland is not something that should ever be used to describe indian food. DO NOT EAT HERE. I read many reviews online and know that every restaraunts will have some bad reviews, but I am telling you this is not good food. more

Best Indian restaurant in Austin 9/8/2007

The authenticity and quality of the Indian Palace's Buffet is extraordinary. Pros: Quality over quantity. Their food is authentic and it is exquisite. The place is cozzy and well decorated Cons: None. more

Nowhere near. 8/19/2007

Pros: They serve kingfisher! Cons: The food more

Best Indian food in town! 7/25/2007

First of all i wish there were more stars to give this great restaurant. The service is excellent and the food is out of this world. I would challenge anyone who goes to another buffet style restaurant to beat the excellent food and prices you can find at Indian Palace. If you are looking for a variety of Indian foods look no further you have found your messiah. more

The green sauce is to die for... 7/8/2007

This is one of the best Indian buffet style restaurants I have been to...though I do agree, it is pricey. I found the food to be fresh and plentiful as the buffet had the largest amount of food choices I have seen at a Indian style buffet. more

This is the good stuff ... 7/4/2007

Tasty, yummy and tasty buffet. The food here is fresh, oh so flavorful, and there is plenty to choose from. If you are looking for consistenly delicious Indian food - it will be here. Each time I go I wonder how I did without it for so long. On a side note: Sometimes it does seem like the owner men up in here may have their undies all in their c r a c k - the one woman in here is always so pleasant though. Pros: The food will call your name to come back. Cons: A bit pricey. more

Worst Food. Worst service. 6/23/2007

I can only say that it's the worst indian restaurant i have ever been to. The hospitality was awful too. None of the dishes were tasting good and seemed to be unhealthy. We reached the restaurant at 9pm and the dishes were almost over and were served cold. I ended up paying $11 for this horrible food. Take my words seriously or else you will regret. Pros: Excellent ambience, good music. Cons: Horrible food, bad service and not economical. more

Indian Palace is great 5/27/2007

After spending the last 5+ years in metropolitan areas where Indian restaurants abound, I find Austin's Indian Palace to be on par with my favorites in Houston and Fort Worth. Superb Indian buffet! Delicous standard dishes and extras! Lassi drinks are impeccable. Pros: Great treat having such a wonderful buffet available Cons: none detected more

Indian Palace is the Best Indian food in Austin 5/27/2007

Indian Palace is the very best Indian Restaurant in Austin. The service is excellent and the food is addictive. I review restaurants for the Manor Messenger Newspaper, so I eat out several times per week. I have eaten at many Indian restaurants in Austin and Indian Palace is absolutely the best. Pros: The service is fantastic, the food is extraordinary and the prices can't be beat. Cons: My stomach can only hold 2 heaping platefuls of the Best Indian food in the world. more

HORRIBLE STAFF, FOOD OK, GOOD PRICE 4/17/2007

I recently went to Indian Palace with 4 other friends. I had a coupon for 'BUY 1 GET ANOTHER HALF OFF,' which I printed off of their website. Their staff failed to give my friends and I that discount. When I asked one of the staff members to change it, a lady came back and told us it was too much trouble to give us the extra discount. Therefore, we left a lower tip, WHICH THEY CHANGED ON MY RECEIPT. I am very disappointed in Indian Palace. I would take 4 or 5 of my friends to go there about twice a month since they have a dinner buffet, but I am never coming back again. In addition, if you go to the restaurant after 7, they stop making fresh naan bread. The only thing good about the restaurant is the food you get for the price (Buffet). Pros: Price Cons: Service more

Potential is there - but we'll keep looking 1/29/2007

Having had great Indian food in the SF Bay area and around the country we went looking for what Austin's Indian restaurants had to offer. The reviews looked promising for Indian Palace so we set off on a weekend to sample their mid-day buffet. Pros: Friendly, Attentive Service. Reasonable Prices. Cons: Food that lacked complexity of flavor. Cold food on buffet that should have been warm. more

Great chicken curry, I love their lunch buffet. I've tried several Indian restaurants in Austin and this one remains my favorite in Texas. more

I've been eating indian food over in the east village (NYC) for the last four years and this place is better than any of those restaurants. The food is the best in austin and the buffet is a super value. MMMMMMM good. more

Just discovered - you should too! 12/17/2005

This is one of those places that you almost hate to write a good review for...One is torn. This place is the best Indian cuisine in Austin (in my current opinion). So I'd like to see it have the business to support itself. On the otherside, I enjoy it so much you don't want to see it over crowded. In two words...try it - you won't be sorry. more

Hidden Find on Far West 9/25/2005

The food is great and the staff is very attentive and welcoming. The buffet is a great way to sample the different dishes - especially if this is your first time at an Indian restaurant, but you can also order straight off the menu. Pros: Food, Service , Buffet more
