Worst Service I Have Ever Experienced 2/5/2009

First of all, let me admit that this is probably my favorite Indian restaurant in Marin. But, please let me clarify that there are so few Indian restaurants in Marin to choose from that this should not necessarily be considered a compliment. But, what I mean to write about here is not the food (or perhaps slightly associated with it, but not directly). I went to this restaurant on January 31, 2009. I had my two young chilren with me. I ordered an appetizer from the menu (one which the boys had eaten to much delight on prior visits). When we received this dish on this visit, it was extremely spicy (and it is not described as spicy on the menu as other items are). It was so spicy that no one at the table could eat it. So, I sent it back. I ended up sending it back 30 or 40 minutes into the dinner. Not because I waited so long to speak up, but because that is approximately how long it took for us to receive our food in the first place. So, when it came time to settle up and leave (which took another 15 minutes to get our check), they refused to take the dish off the bill. They did provide a 10% discount on the entire bill, but that still left me payng more than 50% of the cost of a dish no one could eat. So, that was my experience - it seems to be inconsistent to me. Fortunately, it will not ever happen to me again - because I would rather not do business with people like this. Someone please let me know of any other good Indian restaurants in Marin! more

Good enough 8/25/2008

I love Indian food and will go for it whenever I am with someone who will go with me. So when in Mill Valley last year I got my daughter to go with me.\r \r It was OK. Certainly not the best, but still passable enough for me to return when I am in the area and do not have enough time to go to Santa Rosa or into the city.\r \r I would suggest certain dishes but Indian food is such that everyone has different likes and dislike. Of course the nan is wonderful. But is usually is. The people at the next table had tandoori chicken and were telling each other how good it was, but I have no idea if they were new to Indian food of if it was that good. My tika masala was average. more

really awful indian 7/29/2007

I really don't understand why anyone likes this place. I love Indian food, but this place is awful. The food is not made with fresh ingredients (the sag paneer seemed to be made from canned spinach and condensed milk) and tastes bland and not at all like authentic Indian. I tried it once - and I hope to never again eat their food. more

My Favorite 8/10/2006

The owners and wait staff are wonderful. The food is great. Don't bother with the lunch buffet. The price is moderate. I believe the food is under-rated by most. It is not a delicate as some like. I could dine on their various nans alone. The location is strange, in a Travelodge, but conveninet next to Hwy 101. I say, "check it out." Pros: Love the food Cons: In a Travelodge more

Big time deal at lunch 10/5/2002

I read the review about lunch and tried it myself. YES, it was the best lunch buffet ever and for under 8 bucks. I went there for dinner as well and it was excellent food but no were near the cheap price of lunch. If you like indian food you wont be dissapointed! Pros: Cheap lunch, Great food, Easy to find more
