BEST INDIAN FOOD IN THE VALLEY... 6/16/2011

India fusion is hands-down the best indian cuisine in the Valley. The service is outstanding and the food is world-class. They use fresh ingredients and each dish is a unique culinary experience. The prices are fair considering the fine quality of the dishes. If you are lucky, the owner will make your tea by hand himself. Delicious!!! more

Thank you, Come again?? :) 4/22/2011

If you had real Indian food before you will not like this place . We chose the buffet for 3 reasons: 1-we thought we will have many choices, 2-we were on budget. 3-we wanted to grab something quick. 1-Yes we did have choices but the choices we had are exactly like the kind of choices you would have if you were looking for something to eat passed 11:00pm in Utah (burger king, McDonalds, Betos, etc. .) food was not warm enough, the taste was not that great, only one not tasty dessert Item. 2- The price ended up being more than if we had ordered entrees. $38 buffet for 2 people plus 2 small yogurt drinks. $2.50 for a small piece of garlic naan?? 3- Yes, we did grad something quick but we quickly regretted our choice. Don't get me wrong, the owners are really nice and the atmosphere is pleasant. more

Wish they were on top of the buffet. 1/21/2011

We enjoy India Fusion for their lunch buffet. The service is always friendly. However, they never seem to have the complete buffet stocked. We have waited for rice and the main dishes on a number of occassions which can be quite frustrating. Sometimes the Chicken Tikki Masala is great other times just so-so.\r \r Overall, I'd recommend it as there are not very many decent Indian restaurants close by. more

Never going back there again! 1/14/2011

My wife and I went to India Fusion on Jan 14, 2011 at 7pm. At the time there were 2 couples in front of us waiting. We were told it would be about 10 minutes. It took us 30 minutes to be seated, even though others who got there after we arrived, with larger parties, where seated before us. \r \r Then, after we were finally seated. We were given a menu, and then sat for another 20 minutes as we watched others get drinks and food, and not one waiter, waitress, or anyone talked to us, took our order, or even acknowledged we were in the restaurant!\r \r Then the last straw was when the couple seated right next to us, who was seated about 10 minutes after we were, was helped with a waitress for drinks, right in front of us!\r \r So we finally stood up and just left. I have had to wait before, that is understandable. But, when you seat us, then ignore us, and help others around us, that is just poor business and extremely horrible service!\r \r Obviously, my wife and I have no desire to return, and I am sure many other patrons there that evening were treated just as poorly. more

Surprisingly Delicious Indian Cuisine 6/2/2009

We visited this restaurant on a recommendation from a friend, and were very impressed. The location is unassuming, located in a strip mall of sorts in Jordan Landing, but the interior was very classy with cherry wood accents. The restaurant was very clean, and an amusing montage of Indian music videos was playing on the wall during our visit (seriously - you think the Simpsons are making fun of them, but they're on the level - they really do sound/act exactly like the characterizations on the television show). Our server seated us very promptly, and made recommendations, all of which were spot-on. The dishes are available in mild, medium, hot, and very hot. I ordered the Chicken Ticca Masala (hot) which came with as much rice as you wanted (Ticca Masala is a Tomato cream sauce flavored with dried fenugreek leaves). The spiciness was perfect, the flavor incredible, and the chicken tender and well-flavored. My wife ordered Traditional Curry (light curry cooked with ginger, garlic, onion & tomato sauce) medium, and ate everything on her plate despite becoming rapidly full on nan bread and rice (a note about the nan bread - the garlic nan bread is the best, very flavorful and fresh. Onion and plain nan bread were also very fresh and delightful). Our dining companion ordered Saag, which is like the traditional curry with spinach added (medium). All dishes were very flavorful and filling, amazing with the nan bread. I highly recommend this place - I was already considering returning before I was halfway through the meal. Pros: Great food, knowledgable staff, fun atmosphere Cons: Location more

Excellant Food and service 3/12/2009

You know a restaurant is good when you are already thinking about coming back and trying other things before even you leave. excellent explanation of all dishes and customer service. Too bad its kind of far or else i will be coming evry week frm salt lake. But i ll recommend this place to everybody. Excellent excellent excellent food. Pros: Food and Service Cons: kind of far more

affordable best curry house 3/6/2009

You guys gotta be kidding me, i think the people who gave bad reviews are just used to one kind of food, this restaurant is amazingly healthy and good. You guys should see the cleanliness and service thay have thier. To me they beat any restaurant in utah, i would say the only other restaurant tht i m fond of is red iguana. If this restaurant was in downtown it would be much easier for me. I have had lot of indian food while i travel, trust me i have had both extreme on the bad and good side. I Would recommend this restaurant to anebody in the world. On weekends thay have BELLYDANCERS, i guess thts kind of new but i gotta try myself on weekend to say anything. Pros: Clean, Hygenic, Fresh, Healthy authentic Food Cons: Not close to downtown more

MMM... Lamb Vindaloo, fresh nann, and a beer and wine menu! (Did I mention the wine!) 1/7/2009

The food here is wonderfull, the rich color scheme is welcoming, and they have belly dancers! I have the lamb dishes almost every time, although the vegetarian dishes are also great. They know the difference between ""medium"" and ""mild"" and prepare it accordingly! The nann (a warm flat bread) is always fresh from their tandoori oven, I like the garlic nann. I dine there two or three times a month. I crave this place, and I think you will too! Keep in mind that the dishes are prepared to order, so it takes a litle time. Go after your movie at Jordan Landing, not before. Pros: Fresh food, ambiance, belly dancers! Cons: Takes a litle time, don't go if you are in a rush. more

Nice place, but ultimately dissapointing 12/27/2008

In the last five years I've developed a passion for Indian food and have tried just about every Indian restaurant in Salt Lake. Last night my wife and I tried India Fusion for the first time. First off I was quite impressed by the decor. It's a very nice looking restaurant! I even enjoyed the Bollywood movie projected on the back wall, however being on a black surface made the image quite dark. The lights in the bathrooms are motion activated and only stay on for 5 seconds at a time so you have to keep waving your arms at the switch.\r \r My wife and I ordered the ""Muy Caliente Chili Chicken"" that had the bright red flames all around it. I guess the Spanish indicates some Indian-Mexican fusion. We also ordered the Rogan Josh (a creamy lamb curry dish), and the Samosa appetizer. The samosas arrived on a large white plate with mint and tamarind chutney. I found the samosa to be somewhat bland and the chutney seemed like the stuff you get out of a jar rather than prepared in house. Bombay house is far superior on this item. It also did not come with any serving utensils or a special plate so we used our own spoons and our main plate.\r \r When the main courses arrived, they also did not come with any serving spoons, so we had to use the same spoons we had just eaten with to get our rice and curry servings. If we were not a married couple, it would be unthinkable to dip our own spoons into the shared rice and curry dishes. We had to ask for fresh plates in order to avoid mixing the new food with the remaining bits of samosa and chutney on our dirty plates. The Chili chicken did not turn out to be as spicy as advertised, most of the heat came from sliced jalapenos. It was rested on a bed of iceberg lettuce that did not compliment the dish and quickly wilted under the hot food.\r \r Ultimately, we were not very impressed with the food and disappointed by how it was presented. I would recommend Taste of Punjab or Bombay house over this place any day.\r \r Erik Pros: Nice environment, frienly staff, Bollywood on the wall. Cons: Defective lights in the bathrooms, mediocre food, cutting corners. more

Very Disappointing! 12/27/2008

We were excited to have an Indian restaurant so close to us, but were very disappointed, especially knowing what real Indian food is like. The meat is very tough, as though it is cooked much too quickly and the sauce tastes like it came out of a jar. My husband convinced me to go back and try the lunch buffet -- the food was not kept replenished, what was out there was lukewarm, and the waitress was irritating. We took our kids with us for the buffet and before we even started to eat, she told us how messy children were, and she kept saying that throughout our meal, even though our kids did not make a mess. She came over way too often to ask if there was anything we needed, but still managed to forget the booster seat and drink refills. Substandard Indian restaurant. Pros: Location Cons: The food, the service more

This is by far the best Indian Restaurant in Utah!! 11/15/2008

The food is pure perfection and the service is wonderful!! it does not matter what dish you order because it will be perfect every time!! we eat there usually once a week because it is always excellent!! you will not be disappointed. We bring all our friends there because it is just that good!! I am in love with this place! more

Curry King In the House- the Most consistent restaurant in valley 10/17/2008

Really they should be crowned curry king in Salt lake valley. They are th best restaurant in utah. The food is so flavourful that i actually was in heaven. I have been their repeat custome for 3 months and I think they have the best curry in salt lake valley. All their dishes have been a pleasure to try. You guys should try CHICKEN VINDALOO, I think its the best curry on the menu. I could tell a little bit about spices since i'm aspiring chef Myself. I have asked several question to thier staff and they have been very responsive and knowledgeable with my queries. I actually asked thier help for my Culinary Class and they helped me prepare the 3 course meal. They got me samosas for appetizer, Chicken shahi korma for main entree with Nan Bread (best in town) and carrot pudding as the dessert. I along with many other people in my class didnt know that carrots could taste this good. Everbody loved, my presentation in the class. Thanks to thier help I got A in the presentation. I want to try their Chilli Chicken, which is supposed to be the hottest dish in their menu and town. You get free desert if you finish it. I Guess Someday when I feel like I'm man Enough, I will try thier mui caliente chilli Chicken !!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Great Food, Great Service, and Great Ambiance more

Best Samosas 10/17/2008

This is the place to be, little jewel in india fusion. There ambiance is to die for. I went there on a busy night and i can see why they were so busy. CHEF GOTZ Our own Chef from UT from grand america hotel who was chef of the year runner up last year had recommended this place. He knows what he is talking about. True to his recommendation this place is a fabulous experience. This restaurant is perfect for the families that have some not so adventoruos family members. They provide some american favorites too. But the indian food they have is marvelous. Chicken shai korma is to die for. I visited there on monday and than i went back on wednesday and friday with different people. Everybody and i mean everybody enjoyed it. They play movie songs videos which is not actual movie like the other review who was being too harsh has said. They give you really good atmosphere to enjoy the food and service is really nice. There appetizer samosas are very good. I wont be surprised if they are so busy that we would have to stand in lines waiting. They have Classy Belly Dancers on saturday night making it full entertainment. they have been featured on abc TV, In utah, Now utah, Salt lake tribune, Desert News, Fox tv etc. They are the best restaurant in utah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try their Kheer, the best in the town. Their quality and cleanliness is great. thier are rated #1 restaurant in West Jordan. Pretty good accompishments for 5 Months. Excellent and knowledgeable service. GReat Great great great FOOD. Pros: Too many to list Cons: NOt closer to where i live more

Bad Place 10/16/2008

This place either has WAYYY too SPICY food. Or bland food. The service is horrible.\r The food is horrible. They give India a bad name. Putting American Food, and Indian food in one restaurant?!\r In India the cow is supposed to be a sacred animal, and here they are serving it to other indians that don't eat cow! They have no respect for india nor america. this place is horrible. And the bollywood movie on the wall\r IS CHEESSYYY. No one wants to watch a movie when its half way done. don't ruin it for other people. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

First timer and I love it! I will be going back. 9/23/2008

At first I was a bit tense to try Indian food, however, I am a convert now that I have actually tasted what it can offer. India Fusion was my segway from traditional American burgers and fries to something contemporary and exciting. Also, may I add that it doesn't leave you investing in Alka-Seltzer stock either like most fatty American foods will. The food itself is something that I assure you will bring you back. I had the Chicken Vindaloo and I have to say it was exquisite. Also, Samosas were a great appetizer and I would recommend some kind of Nan(bread). Menu wasn't hard to understand either, it was marked with numbers so you don't embarass yourself in front of friends or family, and has a description for each menu item so you aren't left surprised.\r \r The atomosphere does exactly what every eating establisment should do, make you forget where you actually are and bring you into a new experience. When you first walk into the doors you will soon forget that you are in West Jordan with decor from the Indian culture including paintings(especially a large portrait of Taj Mahal on the center wall), statues, cultural symbols, and Indian music(including music videos played on the wall). They take you to India without overdoing it. \r \r The fusion part comes in with a short selection of american food for less than adventurous people. Perfect place to take your date or family who don't want to go outside their comfort zone but want to try a new ambience. Also, I noticed on their website they offer a kid friendly menu so you don't have to spend extra money on finding a babysitter. \r \r I really recommend this place for anyone new and even people familiar with this type of cuisine. It's a great restaurant with great food and good service. I will definitely be going back. Pros: Food, Service, Location, ambience, something new to try Cons: If there were any I did not notice them or they were too small to be considered. more

OK but not better 9/17/2008

Very standard Northern Indian menu with novelty of burgers etc for less adventurous folks. Food quality around the middle for Utah Indian restaurants. Interesting decor, but not very interesting food. OK if you are in the neighborhood, but not worth a drive.\r more

My new favorite place in the Salt Lake Valley! 9/13/2008

The first time I really had Indian food was in Ireland, which sounds strange, but it was so good we'd been dying to get some more ever since and lamenting the lack of good indian food in Salt Lake, especially in our general vicinity...one day we drove by this place at Jordan Landing and decided to give it a try, and we are so glad we did! We've been there a bunch of times this summer and I always tell my friends about it. The ones who have tried it have also loved it, even ones who have never had Indian food. The naan is to die for, plain or garlic, and my favorite entree at the moment is the Goa Murg. My husband loves the Rogan Josh or the Lamb Vindaloo. Honestly I've never had something there that I don't like! (Although I am not a fan of lamb in general, so I never order that...my husband loves it though) PLEASE give it a try, you will not be sorry! This place deserves to stay in business for a long long time. The service is so friendly and generous and the atmosphere is fabulous, you wouldn't know you're at a strip mall! I love when they show the Bollywood movies and the belly dancers are fun too. Pros: Food, especially the naan, very friendly service, great value, not too crowded more

All-around awesome Indian 9/12/2008

I was initially not expecting much due to the strip mall location, but boy did they prove me wrong. The food is fabulous, the service is sensational, and the atmosphere is beautiful. It's a little like walking into another world when you go in. I have been telling everyone I know about this place. Right now it's still kind of under the radar, which is nice because there's no waiting, but this restaurant deserves to be packed! more
